The Reality Of AI

Guest Post by The Zman

Every day, we are told the artificial intelligence is not a science fiction fantasy, but a reality of modern life. Crimes are solved using AI and the military is supposedly using it to fight the forever wars. Microsoft regularly runs ads explaining that thanks to AI, the modern world will run just fine without white people. IBM goes further, claiming their artificial intelligence robots are already running large swaths of the world. The robot revolution is here and humans are being replaced with machines.

Will Artificial Intelligence be Used for Total Economic Control?

From Brandon Smith

I have recently been exploring the deeper issues surrounding Artificial Intelligence and the implications of its use by the establishment, and what I have found is an ever increasing propaganda drive to acclimate the masses to the notion that AI influence in every aspect of our lives is “inevitable”. That is to say, whether it is good or bad, whether we like it or not, it’s going to happen. The tech-headed swooning over AI is embarrassing and often naive. In their minds, AI can and should do everything, and will supposedly do it better than human beings ever could.

Robots aren’t replacing everyone, but a quarter of U.S. jobs will be severely disrupted as artificial intelligence accelerates the automation of existing work, according to a new Brookings Institution report.

The report, published Thursday, says roughly 36 million Americans hold jobs with “high exposure” to automation — meaning at least 70 percent of their tasks could soon be performed by machines using current technology. Among those most likely to be affected are cooks, waiters and others in food services; short-haul truck drivers; and clerical office workers.

“That population is going to need to upskill, reskill or change jobs fast,” said Mark Muro, a senior fellow at Brookings and lead author of the report.
