FBI Arrests Oregon Militia Leader, Six Others; One Dead

Tyler Durden's picture

“They’re doing all the things that shows that they want to take some kinetic action against us,” Robert “LaVoy” Finicum, spokesperson for the militiamen occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge said on Monday, in an interview that would be his last.

Finicum was shot and killed on Tuesday in a deadly traffic stop some 70 miles north of Burns, Oregon where protests in support of two ranchers sentenced to prison for arson precipitated the occupation of a remote federal building by armed militiamen earlier this month.

The occupiers were led by Ammon Bundy, son of Cliven Bundy who became something of a folk hero after he secured the release of his cattle from federal authorities who had seized the herd for “trespassing” on government property.

The standoff involving the wildlife preserve had drug on for three weeks with Bundy and his men demanding the release of the jailed ranchers and a dialogue with the government about land use and states’ rights.

Many feared the confrontation would eventually turn violent and that is indeed what happened on Tuesday afternoon when the FBI stopped a vehicle carrying Bundy, his brother, Finicum, and others who were apparently en route to a nearby “public event.”

The leaders were on the highway bound for John Day, where they were scheduled to participate in an evening community meeting set up by local residents,” The Oregonian reports. “A crowd of several hundred had gathered at the John Day Senior Center and were subsequently told the the ‘guest speakers’ would not be appearing.”

The FBI’s Two-Pronged Investigation of Hillary Clinton

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

Judge Napolitano in the article below explains the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton. There are two aspects of the investigation. The original source of her trouble is the charge that she failed to safeguard national security secrets.

As Judge Napolitano explains, this crime does not require intent and can result from negligence or simply from a lack of awareness that a secret is being revealed, as in the case that Judge Napolitano provides of the US Navy sailor who was prosecuted for espionage because a “selfie” he sent to his girlfriend revealed a sonar screen in the background. An even more egregious case is that of the US Marine who was prosecuted for using email to alert superiors to the presence of an al-Quada operative inside a US military compound. The email is considered unsecure and thus the Marine was prosecuted for revealing a secret known only to himself.

In view of these unjustified prosecutions of US military personnel, the FBI has no alternative to recommending that Hillary be indicted.

More Smoking Guns – Will Hillary’s Next Stop Be The White House Or The Big House?

Submitted by Andrew Napolitano via AntiWar.com,

The federal criminal investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s failure to secure state secrets was ratcheted up earlier this week, and at the same time, the existence of a parallel criminal investigation of another aspect of her behavior was made known. This is the second publicly revealed expansion of the FBI’s investigations in two months.

I have argued for two months that Clinton’s legal woes are either grave or worse than grave. That argument has been based on the hard, now public evidence of her failure to safeguard national security secrets and the known manner in which the Department of Justice addresses these failures.

The failure to safeguard state secrets is an area of the law in which the federal government has been aggressive to the point of being merciless. State secrets are the product of members of the intelligence community’s risking their lives to obtain information.

Before she was entrusted with any state secrets – indeed, on her first full day as secretary of state – Clinton received instruction from FBI agents on how to safeguard them; and she signed an oath swearing to comply with the laws commanding the safekeeping of these secrets. She was warned that the failure to safeguard secrets – known as espionage – would most likely result in aggressive prosecution.

Former Federal Prosecutor Says Hillary Clinton Could Be Indicted Within 60 Days (Or FBI Will Revolt)

Submitted by AnonWatcher via TheAntiMedia.org,

The leaking of the Clinton emails has been compared to as the next “Watergate” by former U.S. Attorney Joe DiGenova this week, if current FBI investigations don’t proceed in an appropriate manner. The revelation comes after more emails from Hilary Clinton’s personal email have come to light.

“[The investigation has reached] a critical mass,” DiGenova told radio host Laura Ingraham when discussing the FBI’s still pending investigation. Though Clinton is still yet to be charged with any crime, DiGenova advised on Tuesday that changes may be on the horizon. The mishandling over the classified intelligence may lead to an imminent indictment, with DiGenova suggesting it may come to a head within 60 days.

“I believe that the evidence that the FBI is compiling will be so compelling that, unless [Lynch] agrees to the charges, there will be a massive revolt inside the FBI, which she will not be able to survive as an attorney general,” he said.

“The intelligence community will not stand for that. They will fight for indictment and they are already in the process of gearing themselves to basically revolt if she refuses to bring charges.”

90% Nonwhite Violent Crime Rate: FBI

Via The New Observer

Nonwhites commit at least 90 percent of all violent crimes in America, and the least white cities are the most dangerous, an analysis of the latest Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) crime statistics has revealed.

FBI-2014

Although the FBI and the US Census Bureau does its best to deliberately hide the nonwhite crime plague—by ascribing all Hispanic crime to whites, even this devious tactic cannot hide the full extent of black and Hispanic crime in America.

This fact becomes even more apparent when the crime rates for cities with majority nonwhite populations are compared, and when the FBI’s own “most wanted” lists are studied for racial categorization errors.

The official federal government’s definitions of race—as used by the FBI—only have the following categories: “white,” “black,” “American Indian or Alaska Native,” and “Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander. All Hispanics are added to the “white” category, along with all North Africans, Arabs, Middle Easterners, and Jews.

The FBI’s own current (November 2015) list of most wanted murder suspects in the US is a case in point. It contains 71 suspects—of which only six are actually white, as can be seen from their mugshots.

FBi-Murder-wanted

Some 51 of the remaining suspects are nonwhite Hispanics. Nonetheless, the FBI has classified all 51 of these people as “white.” (The remainder are correctly classified as “black.”)

Some examples from the FBI’s “most wanted murderer” list serve to illustrate the point:

New FBI Report Debunks Mythical “War on Police”

Guest Post by Carey Wedler

(ANTIMEDIAThroughout the United States, Americans believe there is a “war on police.” A recent survey found 58% of Americans agree with this sentiment. A new, privately-funded billboard campaign hijacks the “Black Lives Matter” moniker to read “Blue Lives Matter,” highlighting powerful pushback from law enforcement sympathizers against activists.

The FBI’s 2014 report, Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted (LEOKA), released this week, appears to support the notion that police officers are in danger and unduly targeted. The number of officers killed by individuals committing “felonious acts” jumped from 27 in 2013 to 51 last year, and police apologists are all but guaranteed to point to this increase as proof their concerns are justified. A deeper examination of the data, however, reveals that police are not only safe, but still running rampant in their liberal use of violence against the citizens they allegedly serve.

In 2013, the FBI reported that 27 police officers were killed in the line of duty. By 2014, according to the new data, that number rose to 51. While this seems like a sharp uptick — in fact, it nearly doubled — the comparison on its own is misleading. Out of 536,119 officers included in the FBI’s 2014 analysis, .0095 percent  of the force was killed on the job — less than one percent.  While this represents an increase from the .005 percent of officers killed on the job in 2013 — the safest year for police in decades — neither figure signals an unrelenting assault on police officers.

As the Washington Post explained:

MORE FEAR MONGERING FROM OUR DHS PROTECTORS

Here we go again. Time to make the sheep cower, while our DHS shepherds protect us from another phantom wolf. How predictable. DHS has to substantiate their $1 billion annual budget by acting like they are saving us from phantom predators who never materialize. I guess they’ve run out of dupes to lure into fake terrorist plots, so now they just issue dire warnings of impending doom. Our government keepers are not only using the Oregon shooting as their latest attempt to disarm law abiding citizens, but now they are using it to make our special millennial snowflakes beg for the police state to protect them and save them from being killed by anonymous posters on social media. They have successfully freaked out every college and university in the Philadelphia area, as if the police, FBI, or ATF have ever successfully foiled a real terrorist plot.

Some anonymous idiot on 4chan makes some vague threat referencing the Oregon shooter as part of some rebellion, and now every school in the Philly area is on lockdown. They were interviewing students who say they will hide in their dorms rather than venture to class at 2:00 today. What a fucking joke. What a bunch of low IQ pussies. The fucking idiot in Oregon was a 26 year old emotionally disturbed virgin loner from a broken home who was probably on psychotropic drugs (not a peep from the MSM about that). He had no friends and lived in an apartment with his mommy. He wasn’t part of a revolution. Use your fucking brains people.

I thought the fucking NSA captures every electronic communication in the country. They can’t figure out who supposedly made the threat because they posted anonymously. Give me a fucking break. They can trace the IP address to a location. They can supposedly tell when they are hacked by Russians or Chinese, but they can’t track down a poster on a website?

This is just more bullshit from our government keepers to make us beg for their protection. Never let a mass shooting go to waste. I wonder what threat level I should be observing today.

The FBI and ATF are warning about a non-specific threat of violence against “a university near Philadelphia” on Monday.

The FBI released the following statement over the weekend:

Out of an abundance of caution, the FBI Philadelphia Field Office notified local colleges and universities of a social media posting which threatened violence at a Philadelphia-area college or university for Monday, October 5. No specific college or university was identified in the posting. We encourage students, faculty, and employees at area colleges and universities to follow the guidance of their campus security officials. The FBI will continue to work with our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to investigate threats of violence, and, as always, we ask the public to report suspicious activity to law enforcement.

The threat was posted on 4chan, a message board where everyone is anonymous, last Friday, the day after the shooting in Oregon. It praises the gunman as a fellow member of the “Beta Rebellion.”

“On October fifth, at 1pm Central time, a fellow robot will take up arms at a university near Philadelphia,” the post reads.

Parents Beware – The FBI is Launching Program to Recruit High School Kids

Guest Post by Michael Krieger

The following story reported by the Financial Times, is one of the most disturbing I’ve seen in a very long time. Here’s an excerpt from the article, titled: FBI Scouts for Younger Class of Cyber Sleuths

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking to enlist teenagers in its fight against cyber crime before they are lured into high-paying private sector jobs or fail background checks by smoking marijuana.

A first of its kind pilot program to be launched next autumn by the FBI will offer computer security classes to select high school students near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for university credit.

Personally, I see this as the statist equivalent of pedophilia. There’s so much about adults preying on young kids for sex that offends us, but at its core is the question of an unbalanced power relationship. We all know that teenagers are confused, impressionable and easily manipulated. What is so offensive about sexual predators is they are taking advantage of this vulnerable emotional state to gratify themselves. It’s almost always an unfair dynamic.

FBI Had 12-Page File On George Carlin Because He Made Jokes About Government

Submitted by John Vibes via TheAntiMedia.org,

Comedian George Carlin is known as one of the most controversial and outspoken entertainers of his time, and as far as the government is concerned, he could have possibly been a terrorist.

Carlin was not a violent or criminal person in any way, but he said things during his routines that struck at the root of the problems in our society. He went into great detail about corruption in government and business.

During the 1978 Supreme Court case, FCC v Pacifica Foundation, the government cited Carlin’s work as an example of profanity. They used his “Seven Dirty Words” segment to show the type of language that was being used in records and broadcasts. However, the government’s interest in his work did not stop there.

Just after his 1969 appearance on the Jackie Gleason show, Carlin caught the attention of the FBI because he made jokes about then-FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover. According to the government, Carlin had “referred to the Bureau and the Director in a satirical vein.”

“Orwellian” FBI Says Citizens Should Have No Secrets That The Government Can’t Access

Submitted by J.D. Heyes via NaturalNews.com,

The police and surveillance state predicted in the forward-looking 1940s classic “1984” by George Orwell, has slowly, but steadily, come to fruition. However, like a frog sitting idly in a pan of steadily-warming water, too many Americans still seem unaware that the slow boil of big government is killing their constitutional liberties.

The latest sign of this stealth takeover of civil rights and freedom was epitomized in recent Senate testimony by FBI Director James Comey, who voiced his objections to civilian use of encryption to protect personal data – information the government has no automatic right to obtain.

As reported by The New American, Comey testified that he believes the government’s spy and law enforcement agencies should have unfettered access to everything Americans may store or send in electronic format: On computer hard drives, in so-called i-clouds, in email and in text messaging – for our own safety and protection. Like many in government today, Comey believes that national security is more important than constitutional privacy protections or, apparently, due process. After all, aren’t criminals the only ones who really have anything to hide?

GOVERNMENT RESPONSIBLE FOR CHARLESTON SLAUGHTER

Obama and his control freak government minions want you to believe tougher gun laws and more government control will protect us from mass murderers. Complete and utter bullshit. I wonder if this story will be on the all the MSM national news stations. The shooter was arrested on March 1 on drug offenses. He purchased a weapon on April 11. Here is your government drones at work. I’ve purchased guns. They will not sell you a gun until they check the FBI background computer system. Your beloved government protectors couldn’t update their computer system properly in 41 days????

The government is evil, incompetent, overbearing, and as useless as teats on a boar. The FBI is great at creating fake terrorist plots and then stopping them. Press releases abound. The MSM breathlessly announces how the government saved us again.

They aren’t so good at keeping criminals from getting guns. Obama’s solution is to pass more laws that the FBI is too incompetent to enforce.

FBI Admits Error in Charleston Suspect’s Gun Background Check

Federal investigators made an error by not stopping the accused South Carolina mass shooter from purchasing a handgun in April, Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey said Friday, adding the alleged assailant’s criminal background should have disqualified him.

Dylann Roof, accused of shooting nine people at a Charleston church last month, attempted to purchase a handgun on April 11, Mr. Comey told reporters.

The FBI began a background check, but a federal examiner did not obtain a report on a Columbia, S.C., arrest record from March 1 that showed he had admitted to using drugs. That should have disqualified him from buying a firearm.

The FBI’s New Style McCarthyism—-Creating Fake ‘Terrorists’

Guest Post by Philippe Gastonne

In the 14 years since 9/11, you can count about six real terrorist attacks in the United States. These include the Boston Marathon bombings in 2013, as well as failed attacks, such as the time when a man named Faisal Shahzad tried to deliver a car bomb to Times Square. In those same 14 years, the Bureau, however, has bragged about how it’s foiled dozens of terrorism plots. In all, the FBI has arrested more than 175 people in aggressive, undercover counterterrorism stings.

These operations, which are usually led by an informant, provide the means and opportunity, and sometimes even the idea, for mentally ill and economically desperate people to become what we now term terrorists.

These informants nab people like Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif and Walli Mujahidh. Both are mentally ill. Abdul-Latif had a history of huffing gasoline and attempting suicide. Mujahidh had schizoaffective disorder, he had trouble distinguishing between reality and fantasy. In 2012, the FBI arrested these two men for conspiring to attack a military recruiting station outside Seattle with weapons provided, of course, by the FBI. The FBI’s informant was Robert Childs, a convicted rapist and child molester who was paid 90,000 dollars for his work on the case. This isn’t an outlier. – Trevor Aaronson, TED Talk, March 2015

FBI Confirms No Major Terrorism Cases Cracked via Unconstitutional Patriot Act Phone Spying

Guest Post by Michael Krieger

Screen Shot 2015-05-22 at 11.21.19 AM

FBI agents can’t point to any major terrorism cases they’ve cracked thanks to the key snooping powers in the Patriot Act, the Justice Department’s inspector general said in a report Thursday that could complicate efforts to keep key parts of the law operating.

Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz said that between 2004 and 2009, the FBI tripled its use of bulk collection under Section 215 of the Patriot Act, which allows government agents to compel businesses to turn over records and documents, and increasingly scooped up records of Americans who had no ties to official terrorism investigations.

– From the Washington Times article: FBI Admits No Major Cases Cracked with Patriot Act Snooping Powers

Back in 2013, as debate about the Snowden revelations was at its zenith, I published a post titled NSA Chief Admits “Only One or Perhaps Two” Terror Plots Stopped by Spy Program. Here’s an excerpt:

The Obama administration’s credibility on intelligence suffered another blow Wednesday as the chief of the National Security Agency admitted that officials put out numbers that vastly overstated the counterterrorism successes of the government’s warrantless bulk collection of all Americans’ phone records.

Pressed by the Democratic chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee at an oversight hearing, Gen. Keith B. Alexander admitted that the number of terrorist plots foiled by the NSA’s huge database of every phone call made in or to America was only one or perhaps two — far smaller than the 54 originally claimed by the administration.

“One or perhaps two.” Or perhaps zero. The guy has the nerve to say “perhaps.” How do you not know? What a bunch of lying assholes. How the heck does 54 turn into “one or two,” and I’ll tell you something else, I don’t believe the one or two figure for a minute. I mean there’s no way he would say “zero” when he is fighting to keep his petty little Stasi state intact. Furthermore, how about some details here. What was the one plot the NSA foiled? Some teenager throwing firecrackers on the White House lawn? These guys need to get lost already. From the Washington Times:

As time has passed and the years have gone by, it has become increasingly clear that the phone records collection program hasn’t stopped a single terror attack. In fact, a recently published report by the Justice Department’s inspector general admitted as much. This takes on increased significance with parts of the Patriot Act set to automatically sunset on June 1st.

The FBI Busts Up Another of its Own Terrorist Plots and Politicians Rush to Blame the First Amendment

Guest Post by Michael Krieger

Like other recent sensational “terror plots,” however, the criminal complaint unsealed yesterday demonstrates the key role of an undercover law enforcement informant in both formulating and facilitating the alleged plot. It doesn’t appear that Velentzas or Siddiqui actually planned or attempted to bomb any target, nor is there any evidence of discussions about how to create a bomb before the introduction of the informant into their lives.

While Velentzas appeared to have latent sympathy with the Islamic State, contrary to sensational media reports she is not alleged in the criminal complaint to have had any contact with the group.

Their discussions allegedly progressed, with the informant and Velentzas meeting to talk in greater detail about how to create a bomb, using information gleaned from The Anarchist Cookbook, and discussing whether it would be appropriate to target a gathering of police officers with such a device. At several points in the complaint, Velentzas indicates her reticence about doing anything that might harm “regular people,” even criticizing the Boston Marathon bombers for killing and injuring civilians. During this time, the informant also provided both Velentzas and Siddiqui with printed copies of Inspire, including selected passages about how to create explosives.

– From the Intercept article: Informant Provided Bomb-Making Manual to Alleged “ISIS-Inspired” Plotters

What does a government wanting its population to remain in fear so as to justify a total surveillance state, and a military-intelligence industrial complex hooked on billions in wasteful corporate welfare do in the absence of genuine terrorist plots? Create artificial plots, naturally.

This disturbing trend has been covered here at Liberty Blitzkrieg and elsewhere in recent years. Read the following articles for a couple of recent examples:

The FBI’s Most Pathetic Sting Yet: Snares “Mommy’s Boy” With Cat

By Glenn Greenwald and Andrew Fishman

The Justice Department on Wednesday issued a press release trumpeting its latest success in disrupting a domestic terrorism plot, announcing that “the Joint Terrorism Task Force has arrested a Cincinnati-area man for a plot to attack the U.S. Capitol and kill government officials.” The alleged would-be terrorist is 20-year-old Christopher Cornell (above), who is unemployed, lives at home, spends most of his time playing video games in his bedroom, still addresses his mother as “Mommy” and regards his cat as his best friend; he was described as “a typical student” and “quiet but not overly reserved” by the principal of the local high school he graduated in 2012.

The affidavit filed by an FBI investigative agent alleges Cornell had “posted comments and information supportive of [ISIS] through Twitter accounts.” The FBI learned about Cornell from an unnamed informant who, as the FBI put it, “began cooperating with the FBI in order to obtain favorable treatment with respect to his criminal exposure on an unrelated case.” Acting under the FBI’s direction, the informant arranged two in-person meetings with Cornell where they allegedly discussed an attack on the Capitol, and the FBI says it arrested Cornell to prevent him from carrying out the attack.

Family members say Cornell converted to Islam just six months ago and claimed he began attending a small local mosque. Yet The Cincinnati Enquirer could not find a single person at that mosque who had ever seen him before, and noted that a young, white, recent convert would have been quite conspicuous at a mosque largely populated by “immigrants from West Africa,” many of whom “speak little or no English.”

The DOJ’s press release predictably generated an avalanche of scary media headlines hailing the FBI. CNN: “FBI says plot to attack U.S. Capitol was ready to go.” MSNBC: “US terror plot foiled by FBI arrest of Ohio man.” Wall St. Journal: “Ohio Man Charged With Plotting ISIS-Inspired Attack on U.S. Capitol.”

Just as predictably, political officials instantly exploited the news to justify their powers of domestic surveillance. House Speaker John Boehner claimed yesterday that “the National Security Agency’s snooping powers helped stop a plot to attack the Capitol and that his colleagues need to keep that in mind as they debate whether to renew the law that allows the government to collect bulk information from its citizens.” He warned: “We live in a dangerous country, and we get reminded every week of the dangers that are out there.”
