The Trump show trial has taken the United States to the edge of disaster

Guest Post by Alex Berenson

And what – if anything – can be done to undo the damage is not clear (aside from a Trump landslide, followed by a Trump promise to forswear lawfare, both very unlikely)

What exactly did Democrats think would happen?

For a year, Democratic prosecutors in one of the bluest states in the nation have worked overtime to bankrupt and imprison Donald Trump.

The civil fraud case against Trump, over loans he repaid in full, was bad. The felony indictment for misclassifying accounting records was worse, built on bizarre legal theories and the testimony of an admitted liar.

With the help of friendly judges, the prosecutors won both. Trump, the Republican leader and the favorite to beat the incumbent Democratic president in November, now faces nearly $500 million in fines and four years in prison – for “crimes” that can barely be explained.

The Trump Trial and our Injustice System

Guest Post by Ron Paul

I’ve long criticized our current US justice system – on all levels – as becoming much more about political justice than blind justice. The bizarre trial and conviction of former President Donald Trump last week on 34 felonies only reinforces my concerns.

The New York District Attorney, Soros-backed Alvin Bragg, has been notorious for downgrading felony charges against others to misdemeanor charges. According to a recent article in the Daily Mail, Bragg had downgraded 60 percent of felony cases to lesser charges, resulting in violent criminals being released on the streets and a crime wave across New York City.

The Sicilian Message . . . Meant for Us

Guest Post by Eric Peters

Will Trump become even stronger now that he’s been created a “felon” – 34 times! – by a “court” (and jury) that everyone understands was convened to convict him? That is the belief asserted by Devolutionists – the people who believe that this is all a show and part of an elaborate operation to expose the corruption of the system so that it can be un-corrupted.

Biden Marketing Team To Create Trump Mega-Martyr With ‘Guilty’ Verdict Campaign Strategy

Via ZeroHedge

Joe Biden’s galaxy brain handlers plan to use any ‘guilty’ verdicts in Donald Trump’s criminal trials to campaign on, unaware that most of the country views them as political lawfare by the permanent ruling class hatched in coordination with Biden’s own DOJ.

According to Politico, citing four people familiar with internal deliberations;

Biden intends to initially address the verdict in a White House setting — not a campaign one — to show his statement isn’t political, according to the people, who were granted anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.

If the jury convicts Trump, Biden’s team will then argue that the result shows Trump is ill-suited for office and that it demonstrates the extremes to which the former president would go to win again. The campaign’s social media team is considering leveraging the line of attack further, with discussions underway about referring to the ex-president online as “Convicted Felon Donald Trump.”

Anatomy of a Kangaroo Court

Guest Post by Kurt Schlichter

The Donald Trump New York City farce is on the way to being over. The prosecution (at least) rested after what would’ve been a disastrous performance by Michael Cohen in any other trial, but the standard rules don’t apply here because this is not actually a trial. This trial has nothing to do with law. It is a scummy attempt to frame a political opponent of the Democrats to keep him from winning an election against the desiccated old pervert in the White House. Normally, a jury would laugh this case out of court, except that it would never have been in court had the defendant been named Tronald Dump. Everything about it is a lie and a scam, and as soon as you understand that you will understand this disgraceful case.

The Donald Trump show (trial) is almost over

Guest Post by Alex Berenson

The prosecution and defense have rested. Now the New York jury gets six days to listen to NPR, read the Times, and remember why bad Orange Man has to go jail-jail.

Testimony in the Manhattan criminal trial of Donald Trump has ended, with two witnesses telling two stories.

Both cannot be true.

Since last week, Robert Costello and Michael Cohen have told contradictory tales about Trump’s involvement in paying “hush money” to the porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election.

Last week, Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer, said under oath Trump told him to pay Daniels $130,000 in October 2016 to buy her silence about her alleged affair with Trump. Cohen’s testimony is crucial to the legally dubious effort by Manhattan prosecutors to try Trump on felony charges for Trump’s supposed crime of misclassifying his own internal accounting entries – normally a misdemeanor offense.

But yesterday, Costello testified that Cohen was the one who was lying. Costello said that in 2018, Cohen had told him paying Daniels was Cohen’s own idea, done to win favor with Trump.
