It’s way past time everyone recognizes the proposed Keystone XL pipeline will have zero effect on the amount of crude or gas available in the U.S. The plan is to pipeline the slush from Canadian tar sands down to the Gulf, where it will be refined and onloaded to tankers for sale to other countries.
As an American, does this even make sense versus the environmental risk? Sounds to me like another way for the .1 of 1 percent to take another pound of flesh. Why can’t the Canuuks build a pipeline across Canada to the Great Lakes and build refineries there?
While I’m on my soapbox, I’ve seen almost zero coverage on why the fuck we’re paying almost $4.50 for regular? It should be $1.50 given all the hype about how America is now an “oil exporter”.
Uncle warren wants it and will make it so.
