There are indications that the president may have given up, quit while still on the job. That is, he may no longer be interested in doing the job but merely in playing out the string. According to Peggy Noonan,Obama appears to have quit. As she describes it:
It is weird to have a president who has given up. So many young journalists diligently covering this White House, especially those for whom it is their first, think what they’re seeing is normal.
It is not. It is unprecedented and deeply strange. And, because the world is watching and calculating, unbelievably dangerous.
Ace of Spades provided another source in Mathew Continetti who may have been the first to have spotted this behavior:
He has decided to relax. He has decided to fill his remaining days getting the most out of his presidential experience. The free travel and lodgings and security escort, the access to good tee times, the ability to get a reservation wherever and whenever he wants, the chance to meet VIPs who will flatter and ingratiate themselves to him—he is enjoying these perks and privileges to the utmost. His motto is not YOLO. It is YOPO: You’re only president once. Why not savor it?
Obama is golfing more than at any point in his term. In March, as Vladimir Putin launched the newest phase of his quest to recreate the Russian Empire, some in the White House had the temerity to suggest that it might not be a good idea to fly to Key Largo for a long weekend of golf and relaxation. Obama disagreed. “Obama sticks to Florida vacation schedule,” read one headline. This was one commitment on which the president would not renege. “I needed this,” he told guests, including his new friend Alonzo Mourning, over dinner at the Ocean Reef Club. “I needed the golf. I needed to laugh. I need to spend time with friends.” I am sure the Ukrainians understand.
Actually, the disinterest and willingness to quit was dealt with much earlier on this website. When the polls looked like Obama would be defeated in his bid for re-election, an article was posted here on October 10, 2012 entitled “How Does A President Say ‘No Mas’?” (The article was simultaneously published on American Thinker under a similar title.) As it turns out, the polls turned for the President and the question was not answered at that time. Now, as things turn tough, the same question applies and Noonan and Continetti try to address it.
The 2014 mid-terms are apt to make things more uncomfortable fop the Messiah. The job is no longer fun when people question your ability and veracity. For someone who has never been in this position before, it is difficult to try to forecast a reaction. The problem with being President is one that doesn’t (or hasn’t) allowed the excuse: “I’m leaving to spend more time with my family.”
If/when a president reaches this point with more than two years remaining in his term, how does he leave?
Apparently in Obama’s case, he just quits trying to administer and adjusts to maximizing his personal pleasures at the expense of the American public, at least those who pay taxes. In many respects, that means no change whatsoever in his behavior.
How can he quit when he never started anything substantively positive? He’s been a gender-bender spender and time-waster since forever, even before college, according to some accounts, people who knew him personally. So what’s different or surprising?
Goldman Sachs, the Pritzkers, et al. of the 1% got what they wanted and paid for: the perfect playful puppet. End of story.
The destruction is not complete. It is just getting easy with the buy in of the American people.

The more he golfs, the safer we are. The unfortunate fact is, though, that during his last 2 years, he’ll be working his will through executive orders and regulations issued by agencies under the executive branch – which is almost all of them. Almost all federal law is implemented by the executive. Basically we’ve established an elected, term-limited dictatorship. The only check on a president is impeachment and that can only be exercised when one party controls both houses of congress and the media and the president is of the other party. Which means only Republicans can be successfully impeached. After November we’re going to see regulations coming out of all areas of the federal government that will shock all but the most liberal of liberals.

Gore Vidal was right when he said the genius of the USA’s ruling class was to first make the masses believe voting mattered, and then get the same masses to put into place laws that were against their best interests. Easy-peasy fascism!
Many have surmised that our resident Iranian in charge (Ms. Jarrett if you don’t know) is truly the acting master. Of course the true powers are obfuscated and most of us have our favorite villains to blame.

Enough is enough of the years of abuse from this president. His unsecured border crisis is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, “no mas.”
Without borders, there is no nation. Obama knows this. Opening our borders to a flood of illegal immigrants is deliberate. This is his fundamental transformation of America. It’s the only promise he has kept. Discrediting the price paid for America’s exceptionalism over our history, he’s given false hope and taxpayer’s change to millions of foreign nationals who want to sneak into our country illegally. Because of Obama’s purposeful dereliction of duty an untold number of illegal immigrants will kick off their shoes and come on in, competing against Americans for our jobs and limited public services. There is no end in sight as our president prioritizes parties over doing the job he was hired by voters to do. Securing our borders is obviously fundamental here; it goes without saying that it is his job.
The federal government is trillions of dollars in debt, many cities are on the verge of insolvency, our overrun healthcare system, police forces, social services, schools, and our unsustainably generous welfare-state programs are stretched to the max. We average Americans know that. So why has this issue been allowed to be turned upside down with our “leader” creating such unsafe conditions while at the same time obstructing any economic recovery by creating more dependents than he allows producers? His friendly wealthy bipartisan elite, who want cheap foreign labor and can afford for themselves the best “border security” money can buy in their own exclusive communities, do not care that Obama tapped us out.
Have faith that average American workers – native-born and wonderful legal immigrants of all races, backgrounds, and political parties – do care because we’re the ones getting screwed as we’re forced to follow all our government’s rules while others are not required to do so. Many now feel like strangers in their own land. It’s the American worker who is forced to deal with Obama’s latest crisis with our hard-earned tax dollars while middle class wages decrease, sustainable jobs get more scarce, and communities become unrecognizable and bankrupted due to Obama’s flood of illegal immigration.
Who’s looking out for the American workers? Who has their backs? Who fights for them?
We should.
President Obama’s rewarding of lawlessness, including his own, is the foundational problem here. It’s not going to get better, and in fact irreparable harm can be done in this lame-duck term as he continues to make up his own laws as he goes along, and, mark my words, will next meddle in the U.S. Court System with appointments that will forever change the basic interpretation of our Constitution’s role in protecting our rights.
It’s time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment.
