LOUDER THAN WORDS – NEW PINK FLOYD SINGLE

New Pink Floyd Song Streaming Now: “Louder Than Words” — Listen

A song from Pink Floyd’s upcoming album, The Endless River, is now streaming in its entirety online. You can check out “Louder Than Words” below.

Note that it’s the only song on the album to feature lead vocals.

In other Pink Floyd news, David Gilmour has made it official that The Endless River, which will be released November 10, will be Pink Floyd’s swansong.

“Well, Rick [Wright] is gone. This is the last thing that’ll be out from us,” he told the BBC earlier today. “I’m pretty certain there will not be any follow up to this. And Polly [Samson], my wife, thought that would be a very good lyrical idea to go out on. A way of describing the symbiosis that we have. Or had.

“I didn’t necessarily always give [Wright] his proper due,” Gilmour added. “People have very different attitudes to the way they work and we can become very judgmental and think someone is not quite pulling his weight enough, without realizing that theirs is a different weight to pull.”

Love much Floyd. This one doesn’t do much for me (like a poor man’s Comfortably Numb), but props to them for trying.

David Gilmour’s superb 1978 solo album simply titled David Gilmour proved to me that he can easily stand on his own musically. It would be great if he could find the time to do at least one more solo album that good.

Love Pink Floyd and I’ve been looking forward to this album since it was announced. I doubt it will be as great as the rest of their work but some Floyd is better than no Floyd. I’ve got every thing they ever published plus tons of stuff they never officially published.

I only got to see Floyd live once in Vancouver Canada for the Division Bell tour.

Gilmour is great on his own. I’ve always hoped he would do a blues album. He teases blues fans with a few examples of great blues playing though most of it is pretty obscure. He played on Paul Rodgers tribute to Muddy Waters album on a tune called Standin’ Around Cryin’ if you want to check it out. (I’ve included three attempts to post the video below. I never know if they will post or not.)

In the mid eighties I and nine others won a radio contest in Madrid, Spain that got me a killer t-shirt of the marching hammers from The Wall and breakfast with David Gilmour plus tickets to his About Face concert that night. I was the only winner that spoke fluent english.

On An Island and the two associated live DVD’s/albums, Live in Gadansk and Remember That Night were all excellent with the latter two containing hours of excellent special features.

Apparently I have no fucking idea how to post a video. Admin, if you can get it posted I would appreciate it. It’s well worth a listen.
