Black Friday sales should be held in steel, parking lot cages. Put all the sales goods inside, set up “one at a time” cattle gates just in front of the one and only register and let ’em have at it! Meanwhile the regular store can be open for 1980 style “mayhem”.
No Black Friday sale is worth enduring what happens today. There is no product on Earth I want that bad. Heavy metal, punk rock and grunge concerts are far more civilized.

The bottom line is Black Friday is another way of retailers using the guise of a “sale” to exploit thoughts of “lack” and “there is not enough” mentality to sell merchandise. We are tricked into thinking we “need” this stuff that is advertised at the best price of the season. Until consumers stand up and shop when they are ready and not when there are subliminally “forced” to, the game will always be won by the retailers and those in positions of power. I used to work in retail and “now” is not the best price.
