Merika, land of the free……right. This country has the highest prison population by far of any country in the world. The owners are making huge profits on prison contracts and prison slave labor which pays only a fraction of what they pay to third worlders.

It is my understanding that almost 30 states have made provisions to reintroduce debtors prison. How many would qualify for that after the crash? Gulag America here we come.

Who among you would make yourselves responsible to choose 1.5 million of these upstanding people to be released?

Because so many are incarcerated for non-violent drug crimes, i.e. possession/use/selling marijuana, they shouldn’t have been locked up in the first place.
There’s also the issue of those already serving time in states where recreational use has been legalized. Their sentences should be reviewed and most likely overturned.

What really happens is that they plead down from selling drugs, to possession.

I don’t care what people put in their bodies – just as long as I don’t have to pay for the rehab.

“For profit prison system.”

Prison is becoming a business. What else do you need to know? Live your life accordingly.
