While serving in Congress, Byrd set the record for longest filibuster on the floor of the U.S. Senate with a 14-hour filibuster of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
But he was right about the negroes .He knew segregation and Jim Crow laws were put in place to protect white society from the dysfunction of blacks.
Unfortunately he compromised his convictions just like so many other politicians of the 60s.
Only democrats past discreations are ignored , republicans are punished for any transgression ,even ones that should not even be an issue but our ass kissing media that treat blacks like unruly children that need to be coddled rather than held to account . This was the same Robert Byrd that talked about “White Niggers” in an interview with Tony Snow on Fox News. Not a word from the MSM.
