Someone else suggested that it would be interesting to know the personality types of other posters here on TBP. I agree and if you would not mind participating, go here to take the 72 question test. Answers are yes/no. If you are so inclined, post your results below.
INTJ I-67%, N-25%, T-88%, J-33%

When i was teaching we took tests like these all the time. Personality and IQ. I remember a group of academic instructors took a very long IQ test and they were just so proud they score like 190. I reminded them that they had to devide the results and they were actually 4 morons.
For some reason i ate lunch alone most days……….

That was fun. First time I ever took a test like that. And as a thinker, I win!!!! I crushed Admin’s sorry ass, 75% to 62%. Friggin’ blowout.

That was funny. When I first entered the CIA at the age of 42, I was given a psychological profile exam of about 500+ questions. I was in the Directorate of Operations (the Clandestine Service), and the test was designed for young hires, 20-somethings and early 30-somethings who had no to slightly moderate experience in the real world. Shit, I was recently retired from the Air Force and had taken many laps around the globe.
Anyway, somewhere around question 300, I got pissed off about the incessant variations of how well you related to your mother, your father, your siblings, your high school and college classmates, and other assorted shit like that. Damn, I left home at age 17, never to return except for short visits, and what happened in my life after that was totally up to me. Mommy and Daddy were of no help if I fucked up. None.
So I take the test, highly incomplete, up to the proctor and announce that if the CIA wants to fire me based on this piece-of-shit test, go ahead, but I’m 42 years old and I’m not answering any more questions on my relationship with my parents or anyone else. The proctor looked up at me, smiled, and said, “Well, I guess we’ll have to mark you down as a Type A personality.”
Damn, then I had to go home and look up what the fuck a Type A personality is.

Predominat Introverted iNtuition. At first that didn’t seem right. But then I checked ‘careers’ and right there … #1 job … computer programming. Bada Boom!! And the write-up is pretty spon on also … especially the idea of me “no taking a particular view of reality too seriously” (which I don’t) and that I “see what might be and say ‘Why not!”‘
AMAZINGLY, looking through the other scores, I “match up” best with ……..SAH. Who-da thunk it?
I was hoping someone would post the test-thanks to IS. I googled INTJ after it was referenced in the CT shooting thread-seemed like a good match for me, but then, reading a description like that is like reading a horoscope-there’s a tendency to “make it fit”. Results: INTJ 78/25/62/22.

Why don’t the fucking perentages add up to 100%. Stupid dicks.
Anyway, I once had to take a personality test — wish I could remember the name —– that had truly BIZZARE questions. It was 20 some years ago but I to this very day specifically remember one question. How? Because, after seeing it, I sorta did what SSS did above. I closed the book, said to myself ‘fuckit”, and said to the hiring manager “if you actually believe this crap I don’t want to work for you.”, and left. (He didn’t mention anything about a Type A personality, and I didn’t get the job.)
The question: “Which fairy tale do you prefer; Snow White or Peter Pan?”
Nobody to this day has been able to tell me what the fuck that has to do with anything. That’s why I said ‘fuckiit”.
A couple thoughts here: The I vs E is a no brainer-the extroverts are out partying in the real world, while us anti-social introvert geeks are on the web. Thinking vs Feeling-If I was worried about feeling (and not thinking), I’d be posting comments on Yahoo. Which come to think of it, most of them are-yahoos, that is.
I crushed SSS in 3 out of 4, so I win. I’m more of an INTJ than him.
Bwahahhhaaaaahhhhaa
Suck it.
The first personality test I took in 1987 during the interview process to get a job as a Controller at Waste Management stated:
“Quinn lacks social empathy.”
They hired me. Trash company contollers didn’t need empathy.
I leave the empathy to Avalon.

@Davos, take the test twice. The first time, just go with your initial gut reaction. The next, go with what you might do the majority of the time. Unless you are a non-thinking moron, circumstances will always dictate your response which is why I have taken the test a number of times over several years. Even if you don’t publish the results, you might find it interesting.

@Stucky – hahaha… You know you love me 🙂
I’ve always gotten along well with INTJs. F is my “low score” and I swear its only dominant to T from being female. INTJ and INFJ are both very rare – and the majority of INTJ are male, majority of INFJ are female. I’ve often thought if I were a man without so many pesky female hormones making me more of a Feeler and mucking up my Thinking function, I would have been an INTJ and an engineer. I tend to enjoy the intellectual company of INTJs without fail, but for my primary job of being a mother the extra ‘feeling’ in being an INFJ works out great.

No other ENFJs? That website mentioned that these presidents are also ENFJ: Ronald Reagan, Abe Lincoln and Barack Obama. Interesting….
I might add that although these tests can be relatively accurate, I would not support anyone or any entity using them to pigeon hole people into types. As Davos has said, circumstances and context always dictate response.
Chris Duane of Don’t Tread On Me has set a group called the Silver Shield Group. You have to apply to join the group. The application asks quite a few questions which I object to answering, including your Brigg’s Meyer’s type. There is no indication how the provided information is used or judged. I believe there is a monetary component to membership as well but I never made it that far through the application process to find out. I’d like to join the group simply to learn more about it but the questions are too intrusive. I have briefly met Chris Duane and like much of what he posts but the application process lends itself to a myopic selection process. Much like many of the regulars here, he is one of the few who understand the macro view of what is coming AND is actively attempting to build a mutually minded group to weather the coming collapse. I believe this is the focus of his Silver Shield Group and I’m intrigued by the idea.

Stucky,
Generally, one question on its own means little to the profile.
Like you, I tossed a prospective job with Remington Rand in 1963 due to find this question:
“Would you rather watch a live performance of ballet or wrestling on TV?”
Sometimes, personality tests are like polls, your questions will get the answer you think you want. That question was one of several looking for a specific trait …
INTJ … done it twice now, ten years apart, scored the same both times.

You strike me as possessing the gifts of great intelligence and empathy. Judging from your posts, you must be a fantastic mother and I sincerely hope those traits get passed on to your children. Many intelligent women post here but you make me think more than most. Keep it up!

+1. Airforce good! Pilot good!
IS, I’ll try it again as you suggested, I have no fucking patience for this shit anymore. I know I’m a fucking introvert, 8,400 volt electric fence, gate, security cameras, snipped the intercom wire, won’t answer the phone.
I know I’m a deep thinker, what else is there to do but read if you don’t watch TV.
As for the rest, I’m not sure I care how some head shrink classifies me.
