TBP – ENEMY OF THE FASCIST SURVEILLANCE STATE

I never considered that my dinky little blog would ever draw the attention of anyone other than a few libertarian minded people. We draw about 15,000 visitors per day, which is tiny in comparison to hundreds of popular sites. I do consider my site to be anti-status quo, pro-Constitution, pro-liberty, pro-freedom, anti-neocon, anti-liberal, pro-common sense website.

I believe our country has been captured by a small cadre of powerful, wealthy, psychotic, evil men. I believe we have reached a point of no return. Our system cannot be reformed through the democratic process because the system has been corrupted by the wealth of those in control. True capitalism hasn’t existed since 1913. The masses are controlled through propaganda and entitlements.

We’ve descended into a Brave New World/1984 dystopian nightmare. Developments over the last few weeks have veered heavily towards the Orwellian fascist surveillance state. I’ve never been a big conspiracy theory kind of guy, until this week.

There is no doubt in my mind that TBP is now on the radar screen of the Federal Thugs within the DHS spy complex. From the moment I posted articles in support of a true patriot – Edward Snowden, my site has been under assault. I’ve received multiple emails from people and read dozens of comments on the site describing what has happened.

People with McAfee security now get this message when they try to go to my site:

WARNING: DANGEROUS SITE

Whoa!

Are you sure you want to go there?

People have been accessing my site for four years and have never gotten this message. Suddenly, this week it is dangerous.

Multiple people have told me that their companies suddenly starting blocking my site this week with the message that it is a POLITICAL/ACTIVIST website. The State University of New York blocks my site. The only way this could have happened is if some agency or organization put my website onto some sort of list that corporations and universities could access to decide whether it could be displayed on their servers. Clearly, this was an act of the government. In the world we live in today, a website that criticizes the government is a dangerous entity and must be silenced. This government is not a big fan of free speech.

My own security software gives me a Security Alert every time I try to go onto my own website. Here is the warning:

WEB ATTACK MALICIOUS EXPLOIT KIT WEBSITE

The IP Address of the attacking computer is 188.138.115.108. When I searched this address it is supposedly in Germany. I’ve also gotten messages of attacks from the Ukraine. Is there an entity attacking anyone who tries to access my site or are they trying to scare people away from accessing my site? My site sits on a mainstream American based server company. It is not infected with malware. I can check the diagnostics on the server company’s website. There are no problems, viruses or malware. These warnings are false.

My site has not been throttled by my server company in the last week. My IT guy has taken the site down for maintenance and he says there are no database issues. But, in the last week the number of database error messages and no connection messages have quadrupled versus what was happening prior to this week. I’m sure this is just a coincidence.

I doubt that my website will be accessible within the next year. The government will either force my server company to pull the plug or they will use some legal means to bully me into submission. I had a long discussion with my Computer Science Major son as we drove into work this morning. He has been tasked with figuring out a way for his old man to keep up the fight after the government shuts down my mainstream method of exercising my freedom of speech.

We are clearly descending into a fascist surveillance state. TBP is an enemy of this state.

Lol they all say that.

After my post of half an hour ago, I lost internet connection despite showing 5 bars on HSDPA and then got two 504’s.

I noted with interest that most of the problems commented on here were using PC’s with the Windows OS.

I use a Mac with a pretty recent OS (not the new one) and Safari, have set Safari up to accept no cookies or plug-ins without permission and am very careful who I let stuff things on my HD. As long as Mac’s “File sharing” is off (a preference setting), there is, at the moment, no way that I know of to penetrate the security of either the OS or the browser.

Emphasis on “at the moment”. I used to use IE for the Mac until MS stopped supporting it and I just gave up on all MS products.

Good luck guys – somehow I wonder if the Feds are really involved in these attacks or not. It seems to subtle for their style . They like to hit you with a swat team, trucks and paddy wagons.

This looks more like some hackers with way too much time (or corporate sponsorship – known or not) and do this stuff for fun and games.

SSS: Any comments?

That’s an utter disgrace to have Obama with a picture of Ben Franklin. Obama is destroying this country as quickly as possible, and we’ll be in WW3 pretty quick also.

Free speech is a thing of the past. i always wondered what it would be like to live in Nazi Germany, now I’ll get to find out.

People aren’t paranoid enough, if they were, somebody would have found out about the spying long before now. They would have figured out everything they are doing is being tracked.

Do you really want to use browsers from Google or Microsoft? They work hand in hand with the government, especially Google. Mozilla Firefox was made by internet people, free internet people, and the government doesn’t get anything out of Mozilla. If you use internet explorer or chrome, you’re a fucking idiot and supporting the fascist machine. End of story.

Guilt by association will prevail. Snowden gave money to Ron Paul’s campaign, so RP and Rand will get a double dose of scrutiny. I’m sure Casey Team is being watch more closely, as he has invited Dr. Paul to some of his events.

I do not think the Admin. is paranoid after the Snowden affair. JQ change in attitude that there might not be a grand reset, and the US empire decline might be something so dire that it changes the course of history.

I do know that I stand with good company here on TBP.

Why am I not surprised? My YOUTUBE channel got some very strange “subscribers” one of which is a scary looking government site, and my videos are about making ceramic pots, playing guitar, and oh yes.. almost forgot, a few advocating active protest against the government and voting for Ron Paul. I wonder which ones caught their eye?

I do believe we are living a fascist corporate oligarchy, so don’t get me wrong here. For me, what brings the bacon home is computer security. There are many perimeter defense systems setup around the internal networks of a company. Its a requirement, and its also failing due to the level of attackers these days. You have antispyware, antiphishing, antispam, intrusion detection, DOS, DDOS, and content filtering. These are necessary these days, believe me. If the sheeple knew what I know, they would flee on-line anything. In any case, a company has to protect itself for its own brand name and legality purposes. I suspect what most of you are experiencing is the content filtering piece. In its simplist form, it is a list of url’s, like http://www.burinigplatform.com, that are put on a list that are prohibited. Its that simple. Who maintains that list might be interesting. I am sure it is both manually maintained and automatically maintained by web crawlers looking for key words. Key words, for example, the swear words so often used here. To me, that’s what makes me feel at home, to a parent or business man running a company, its a no-no.

I could go on for quite a while, but will leave it here. You might be over-reacting a bit. As far as the government monitoring this site, its possible given the content which any web crawler could extract and analyze automatically.

As I logged in this morning, I noticed my computer had restarted because of Microsoft updating my computer patching the never ending security holes. Imagine if Microsoft and the government got together on what they put on your computer in these patches. That’s food for thought for you with the tin foil hats.

Cheers!

Whatever is going on with the site presently, even if only from technological glitches (which I doubt), is a glimpse of our future. Relish every day of the time we have left before the Crash, the War, and the rest of the evil that awaits mankind.

I have often had trouble accessing this site–database cannot connect, connection timed out, slow loading of pages–and two years ago I picked up some kind of virus here that killed my computer and I had to buy another one.

I now have Firefox No Script and Ad Block which seems to keep most of the virus meanies out.

As far as internet censorship goes, I expect it. I have met blatant censorship in China and south America and other places, sometimes just particular articles and sometimes entire websites. This crap goes on everywhere. I have a couple of kickass proxies that will get me into anything. It’s a learning curve.

For search engines I use Ixquick:
https://www.ixquick.com/

Startpage:
https://www.startpage.com/

Yandex:
http://www.yandex.com/

None of them are hosted in the US.

I have half a dozen email addresses, none of which are attached to my real name. I do not allow myself to be knowingly photographed, and if I’m in a group where some nitwit is phone camera clicking, I turn my face away. Unsurprisingly, I detest Facebook.

It is interesting though to see how they are surreptitiously censoring your website, not by going after you directly, but by bugging your server address. Nice sideways move really, and apparently very effective. Clever people.

At the moment they seem to be winning, but there is world of very smart and angry script kiddies who are capable of out-manipulating the powers that be. The battle is far from over.

There are a few who will resist. But it will take more than jacking with computers to have an effect. It will take some real action if people want liberty and freedom. If that resistance comes I would not count on it from the American sheeple, it will come from somewhere else.

Maybe you’re in good company. I put this list on a Robert Higgs article comment:

Seymour Hersh, Eric Margolis, John Pilger, Jim Chanos, Thomas Drake, William Binney, Harry Markopolos, Jesselyn Radack, Sibel Edmonds, Coleen Rowley, Ray McGovern, Col. Ann Wright, Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski, Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, John M. Cole, David ‘Mark’ Conrad, Jeffrey Black, Bogdan Dzakovic, Russ Tice, Sandalio Gonzalez, John Vincent, Bill Bergman, Steve Jenkins, Linda Lewis, David MacMichael, William Savich, Julia Davis, Tom Maertens, Joseph Carson, Gabe Bruno, Dr. Jeffrey Fuelin, Thomas Tamm

The U.S. Department of Disinformation must have a very large staff!

All the above, speaking truth to power were castigated. I just remembered two people called paranoid that actually were being spied on Ernest Hemingway, Philip K. Dick. A complete list would be Very Long.

@Admin You are not paranoid. The Burning Platform has been on a list for at least 6 months – but they were only blocking occasionally. It is now a full-on assault.

The Who’s Your Lender thread has been eerily quiet for over a month. I think they are hiding the thread in Google search results. Only long-time posters are jumping on – no newbies.

A Free, Quick and Easy Way to Protest Government Spying
Submitted by George Washington on 06/15/2013 15:08 -0400
c/o Zero Hedge

ETC national security

While it’s obvious to everyone that the government is spying on virtually all of the digital communications of Americans – phone, email, Internet, credit card, etc. – the government is pretending that it only spies on foreigners and collecting our metadata (which can actually tell a lot about us).

Indeed, the government is instructing Senate staffers to stick cover their eyes and pretend that the spying documents found all over the Internet don’t exist.

One free and easy way to protest mass surveillance, educate others, and yank Big Brother’s chain is simply to add a sentence to the end of your emails and web posts.

To give you the idea: you’ve seen the disclaimers at the end of emails from lawyers, investment advisers, and similar professionals. You know, the ones that say stuff like “This is a confidential communication and can’t be used by anyone but the intended recipient”. They put the same disclaimer at the end of every single email.

Why don’t we put our own disclaimer at the end of our emails and web comments, saying:

WARNING: The National Security Agency is likely recording and storing this communication as part of its unlawful spying programs on all Americans … and people worldwide. The people who created the NSA spying program say that this communication – and any responses – can and will be used against the American people at any time in the future should folks in government decide to go after us for political reasons. And private information in digital communications may be given to big companies by the government.

Mass surveillance doesn’t keep us safe, and even the top national security experts say that we don’t need it. (They also say we should get a grip.)
This may help keep the issue alive even as the government desperately tries to sweep it under the rug.

Note: All modern browsers allow you to highlight, copy and then paste text with links in it into your email or web comment. If you prefer, you can copy just the text and delete the links.

You have to rebel first (is what Orwell is saying), but how can you when you’re not conscious yet? That is, conscious of what is REALLY going on. It starts simply, you get an inkling, you get another, you read something that makes you wonder, and on and on it goes until you start to doubt what you’re being told. It’s a process, a difficult one, because you basically have to throw out everything you’ve held dear.

—- Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update.

—- In the left pane, click Change settings.

—- Choose the option that you want.

—- Under Recommended updates, select the ‘Include recommended updates when downloading, installing, or notifying me about updates’ and UNCHECK the box, and then click OK

As long, long time computer user, I very strongly recommend that you get your operating system patches religiously; the caveat being when your applications are ready for them. Ya gotta check. This is a good reason to keep your used application list to a minimum. Granted, my Windows computer runs XP (nothing like twelve years to work out the bugs), but I never miss a patch. My security software (firewall, spyware, anti-virus, Ghostery) is updated DAILY, sometimes twice a day.

At this point it’s pretty obvious that you aren’t going to keep the Big Boys out of yer box.

However, you want to put up as many roadblocks as you can for the other assholes.
