Low Information Voters: adding faces to the voices
God bless millennials, they’re going to need it. They voted Obama into office, twice, and are now suffering the consequences. It’s not their fault, really, our education system trained them to be sheep, and their test scores have dropped out of the top ten worldwide. More than $1 trillion in student loan debt, living in mom and dad’s basement. A generation in a long decline. And it only took them five years to figure out they were being screwed.
If you think this is bad, think of the kids they are raising.
More than 60% of millennials support big government, and think the government should be doing more for them, including guaranteeing jobs and wages. They don’t seem to understand the government creates nothing, and steals or borrows the trillions they piss away every year.

Say! Wouldn’t it be great if the government gave everybody in America a guaranteed job – and a guaranteed income to go with it? Even better, wouldn’t it be nice if you could get that guaranteed income even if you didn’t work at all?
Jesse Myerson, who was big in Occupy Wall Street, got progressives all excited when he floated these ideas in a Rolling Stone column, 5 Economic Goals Millennials Should Be Fighting For. Listed above in AWD’s comment. The big “economic goal,” he explained is to “make participation in the labor force truly voluntary.”
As sure as a liberal will pick your pocket, these notions will soon emerge in a national election as part of the Democrat party platform. Why, asks Myerson, should anybody have to work to live? After all, he says, “work blows.” If your calling in life is to sit in bed playing video games, why shouldn’t America subsidize you? Why should you have to get out of your pajamas, except to visit the pool hall?
Do you think they’re joking? Progressive “thinkers” already have a name for this: Universal Base Income, UBI for short. That sounds so much better than “buying votes for Democrats” or “teaching people to be shiftless wastes of space.”
Let’s see, now…guaranteed jobs. Didn’t there used to be people who had guaranteed jobs? Of course: slaves. When they finished building the Coliseum, they could be shipped out to the mines in Numidia, or drafted as gladiators, or auctioned off to wealthy landowners. They never had to worry about being out of work.
We don’t know from Myerson what kind of guaranteed jobs people would have. He actually suggested “painting murals.” We could be talking about another Golden Age here, subsidizing a lot of drones to compose symphonies, write poems and tragedies, or find cures for various diseases. If we get to chose our guaranteed jobs, I volunteer to be an oil sheik.
Hey, why worry? He also wants the government to pay you if you do no work at all. We can’t all write for Rolling Stone, but we can all sit around getting high. Why shouldn’t Uncle Sam pay me every year just for being me?
All right, it’s ridiculous. It’s childish. That Jesse Myerson could come out of college with no more sense than this, is a scandal. The professors who taught him should be drowned.
Wealth is created by work, and only by work. Where else do these idiots think it comes from? Does it grow on trees, or rain down from the sky? What kind of kook is going to continue working when, everywhere he looks, he sees others being paid to sit on their asses. And no one can help the poor if no one is creating wealth. Indeed, if no one works, everyone will soon be poor.

Liberal Icon Nat Hentoff: Obama Is ‘The Most Destructive, Dangerous President We’ve Ever Had’
WASHINGTON — Worse than Richard Nixon. An unprecedented abuse of powers. The most un-American president in the nation’s history.

Nat Hentoff does not think much of President Obama.
And now, the famous journalist says it is time to begin looking into impeachment.
Hentoff sees the biggest problem as Obama’s penchant to rule by executive order when he can’t convince Congress to do things his way.
The issue jumped back into the headlines last week when, just before his first Cabinet meeting of 2014, Obama said, “I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone … and I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions.”
“Apparently he doesn’t give one damn about the separation of powers,” Hentoff told WND. “Never before in our history has a president done these things.”
And just to make sure everyone knew how extremely serious he regarded the situation, the journalist added, “This is the worst state, I think, the country has ever been in.”

Many have regarded Hentoff as the conscience of civil libertarianism and liberalism for decades.
Recognized as one of the foremost authorities on the Bill of Rights and the Supreme Court, Hentoff was a columnist and staff writer with The Village Voice for 51 years, from 1957 until 2008, when his columns began appearing in WND.
Hentoff left the Voice after he looked into the abortion industry, was shocked by what he found and had a falling-out with colleagues.
The First Amendment expert still hews left on many issues, railing against former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Dick Cheney, the prison at Guantanamo Bay and the National Defense Authorization Act.
But he hasn’t liked Obama from the start.
“Within a few months after he was elected, I wrote a column saying he was going to be the most destructive, dangerous president we’ve ever had,” he said.
Hentoff said people he’d known for years told him to stop being so negative and to give Obama a chance.
“Well, we’ve given him a chance. I understated the case a little.”
In other words, Hentoff thinks Obama is the most dangerous and destructive president ever.
And, that’s why the veteran journalist thinks it’s time to begin looking into impeachment.

“He has no right to do these executive orders,” Hentoff insisted, his voice reaching a crescendo of indignation.

He says Obama gets away with it only because there is no outrage in Congress, no coverage by the media and no knowledge by the public.
“He’s in a position now where he figures he’s going to do whatever he wants to do.”
In fact, Hentoff said, Obama doesn’t even pretend to care about the separation of powers between the executive branch and Congress anymore, because “He’s the boss and hardly anybody cares enough” to stop him.
The most well-known examples of Obama changing or issuing laws with the stroke of a pen by issuing executive orders include:
Delaying the employer mandate in Obamacare
Changing the types of plans available under Obamacare
Ensuring abortions would be covered under Obamacare
Enacting key provisions of the failed Dream Act to halt deportations of illegal immigrants
Enacting stricter gun-control measures
Sealing presidential records
Creating an economic council
Creating a domestic policy council
Changing pay grades
As WND previously reported, even the the far left-leaning FactCheck wrote, “It’s true that President Obama is increasingly using his executive powers in the face of staunch Republican opposition in Congress. He’s changed federal policies on immigration and welfare and appointed officials without congressional approval.”
“I would say that never before in our history had a president done these things,” Hentoff mused.
He noted that while Nixon merely claimed that winning an election gave him the right to do what he wanted, Obama is actually doing whatever he pleases.
The journalist said he doesn’t think any other president has acted so lawlessly as a matter of habit.
“So, if this isn’t a reason for at least the start of an independent investigation that would lead to impeachment, what is?”
Hentoff is baffled that Obama should escape such scrutiny when former President Bill Clinton faced impeachment just for being “a lousy liar.”

A big part of the problem, the journalist believes, is what he calls the utter ignorance of a huge portion of the population, which is not outraged at losing its basic right to be self-governing.
And Obama “doesn’t give a damn, because he can get away with whatever he wants.”
That’s why Hentoff called this the worst state the country has ever been in, “Even worse than Woodrow Wilson’s regime, when people could be arrested for speaking German.”
Compounding the problem he says, is the digital age, which has allowed the president to engage in unprecedented domestic spying with the apparatus of the National Security Agency.
WND asked if Obama really posed such a threat, considering he was a professor of constitutional law.
“People forget, he taught a course that he was not fully qualified to teach. But nobody seemed to care,” Hentoff observed.
He also pointed out that as president of the Harvard Law Review Obama never published an article, something that went virtually unnoticed when voters considered his qualifications.
“See, that was a case of affirmative-action and people feeling, ‘Hey we ought to do something important, symbolically, and here’s a black guy, and he’s articulate, so we’re gonna do this.’”
Hentoff mentioned that former U.S. Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, the man Time Magazine once called “the most doctrinaire and committed civil libertarian ever to sit on the court,” once personally lectured him that “Affirmative-action on a racial basis is a total violation of the 14th Amendment, no doubt about it.”
And, referring to Obama’s presidency, the journalist said, “That’s what that kind of affirmative-action did for us.”
He told WND that he firmly believed the president does not care about due process, the separation of powers, the concept of a self-governing republic or many other basic American ideals.
And that’s why, he said, “What Obama is doing now is about as un-American as you can get.”
Hentoff wanted to make sure no one thought he was engaging in hyperbole.
He said it was literally true that Obama is “the most un-American president we’ve ever had.”
And just to make sure everybody heard him, he added, “I hope the FBI got all of that.”
Hentoff is just the latest public figure to be added to the growing list of those mentioning the possible impeachment of President Obama.

Why don’t you publish the facts on how the Republicans closed down the government costing Americans billions of dollars. What are these subsidies to oil companies of which you speak, Verna? Can you describe them with a bit of detail? All tax credits should be abolished. ALL. Bachmann: Obama’s Legacy Is ‘Establishment of Lawlessness in United States’

Because he did not enforce the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and now unilaterally adjusts the Obamacare law as it unfolds, President Barack Obama is sending a signal to liberal federal judges to mirror him and, as a result, the president’s long-term legacy will be “the establishment of lawlessness in the United States,” said Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.).
Bachmann also compared Obama’s actions to those of former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi – “whatever he said was law.”
The congresswoman made her remarks during a Jan. 15 “Conversations with Conservatives” meeting at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. In response to a question about federal judges in several recent cases ruling that state bans against homosexual “marriage” were unconstitutional, Bachmann said this was part of a pattern set by the White House and the U.S. attorney general, which liberal federal judges were copying.
“The president and [Attorney General] Eric Holder were very clear when the president came in,” said Rep. Bachmann. “He said that he believes that the DOMA law [Defense of Marriage Act] was unconstitutional and he wouldn’t enforce it. That’s one example of the lawlessness of this president. He’s violating his obligation under the Constitution to faithfully execute the laws of the land.”

She continued, “He announced to the nation he wasn’t going to faithfully execute the laws of the land. And what’s interesting is that, essentially, you have judges citing an unconstitutional act of the president [ignoring DOMA] as the precedent for their lawless decision for activism.”
“So we’ve completely gone askew from what the Founders bled and died and fought for, and that was to have a limited government under a written Constitution, not an unwritten, ever-evolving living letter that becomes whatever anyone wants at any moment, but it actually means something,” she said.
“And isn’t it interesting that Obamacare is being played out exactly the way that the activist courts deal with the Constitution,” said Bachmann. “Because Obamacare is this living law that no one knows what it means – it’s whatever the president says at a press conference or tweet or whatever some bureaucrat says – and that’s how we’re dealing with the law. When you do that, you have illegal constitutional anarchy.”
“My opinion is, the legacy of Barack Obama will be of the establishment of lawlessness in the United States,” said Bachmann. “And that doesn’t portend well for the future of the United States. That’s what we have given the world, is the idea of the fact that we, all men are under the law, no one is above the law.”
“And when a president decides that he’s going to write a law, that sounds a lot like former President [Mohamed] Morsi in Egypt, who all of a sudden declared that whatever his edict was, [it] was not appealable to a court,” she said. “Whatever he said was law. Well, how is that much different from what we’re seeing come out of the White House today? We’re seeing many of the same actions. And now judges are taking their cues from the White House and that’s a very adversarial precedent that’s being set for the future of law and security in the United States.”
Last week, a federal judge ruled that Oklahoma’s ban against gay “marriage” was unconstitutional. In December, a federal judge in Utah ruled the same, declaring Utah’s prohibition of same-sex marriage violated the U.S. Constitution.
i got out of the public education system in 2006 .. and I must say that it most definitely kills any passion/creativity that may arise from a free individual. being locked down 5 days a week and forced to learn senseless “skills” that I’ve forgotten was a waste of time and productivity.
it’s no wonder that I started slipping in sophmore year and gravitated towards playing guitar and other arts. it was excruciating to sit there for days on end and being forced to lug around a backpack that fucked up my back.
i flunked my last semester of Senior year and got my GED. felt so free after that. was like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. never went to college cuz I thought it would be more of the same.
oh and I passed the GED test on the first try with close to zero studying.
