I assume that form is somebody’s idea of a put-on. If I made the form, everyone who comes from some land where they speak Spanish would be a sub-grouping under “Mexican”. Someone from Madrid, Spain would be a Spanish-Mexican, for example. Because it pisses people off, which is always good.
Obama weighs another extension for existing health plans, report says
The Obama administration is considering another extension of existing individual health insurance policies in an effort to smooth the transition to plans offered through state and federal exchanges established by the Affordable Care Act, the Associated Press reported on Thursday.
The AP quotes Dan Mendelson, chief executive of health policy adviser Avalere Health, as saying the administration is considering an extension of existing policies for another three years. No decision has been made, however, on whether to offer the extension.
Aetna Inc. AET Chairman and Chief Executive Mark Bertolini confirmed on the company’s earnings call Thursday that an extension is being considered by the administration.
President Obama’s health-care overhaul was hit by a one-two punch last year when the website used to enroll consumers in medical plans severely malfunctioned, and insurers started cancelling policies that didn’t meet coverage requirements under the law. The latter was particularly embarrassing to Obama, who repeatedly promised consumers they could keep their current plans if they wanted.
Roughly one-third of the 14 million consumers buying individual policies saw their plans canceled, forcing Obama to allow consumers to keep their plans for another year until they could transition to new coverage. Now, the administration may increase this previous extension.

Great, the Canal Zone was a geographic entity that lasted less than a century. Canal Zone blue collar workers were Panamanian citizens. Canal Zone supervisors and administrators were nearly always U.S. citizens. There were five or six privately-owned properties, an acre or two, within the Canal Zone, which were essentially large gardens of produce sold to the public at road side stands. Who owned that land? Lucky Chinese families descended from a few highly valued Oriental supervisors imported to help build the canal.

Bought a gun lately? After Zimmerman, the govt has changed gun paperwork so you now have to declare your race as either White non-Hispanic or White Hispanic. No joke-I had to fill it out and I couldn’t believe it. I could have sworn it used to be optional, too, but now it’s a required block.
