Things that were impossible thirty years ago, like e-mail scams, remain a constant problem. The internet has made it easy for even the crudest hustlers to reach a broad audience. As a result, the number of hustlers has increased and the types of hustles have also increased. The twitter troll, for example, is an entirely new type of hustle, made possible by the internet.

In my youth, it was possible to have cordial and even friendly relations with people in the Progressive cult. I spent many hours debating my lefty friends over drinks, about the defects of various central planning schemes. Anyone my age or older remembers the way these debates would go. One side talked about economic justice for the working class, while the other side talked about the glory of free markets. Usually, the “right-winger” would bring up the Soviets, as an example of the failures of central planning and socialism.

The American Civil Liberties Union apologized shortly after tweeting a photo of a baby wearing a free speech onesie and holding an American flag after critics denounced the picture because the child was white.
The ACLU captioned the photo of the child, which was tweeted out on Wednesday, “This is the future that ACLU members want.”
But progressives immediately flipped out because they interpreted the photo as an endorsement of white supremacy.

I recently concluded a month long interaction with multiple government drones working for the State of Pennsylvania. Some of them were friendly and partially competent. Some were truculent and unhelpful. The fact I had to contact them a half dozen times to get their screw-up fixed is par for the course when dealing with government workers. These interactions prove to me once again everything government touches becomes a bureaucratic exercise in futility. The attitude of government workers is consistently dis-interested and unconcerned with the problems of the citizens paying their salaries.

One of the many harms inflicted on us by the hive minded lunatics running our society is the binary world view. Everything is either all good or all bad. As such, everyone must either fully embrace something or completely reject something. Indifference, ambivalence and moderation are not permissible in a world run by zealous fanatics. The only things that matter, that can matter, are those things that require a moral position. Everything else falls outside the set of things that exist, at least to the hive minded.
