We’ve all read the headlines, “Guns are the number one killer of kids in America.” Unfortunately, that headline is grossly misleading.
To better understand children and firearms, we must first understand the definitions of adolescents and exactly what gun violence is. Looking at data with clearly defined terminology is the first step to having an effective conversation on this topic — otherwise, we will never get to the root of the problem.
Ammo.com‘s research focuses on children and adolescents <1-17 to paint a clearer picture of adolescents and guns in the U.S.
It’s our goal to be as transparent as possible while conveying data related to this topic. The difference between a child and an adolescent is marked by puberty, environmental factors, and independence.
The transition from childhood to adulthood is marked by “rapid physical, cognitive, and psychosocial growth” according to the World Health Organization. This has significant impacts on their emotional state, how they make decisions and interact with their environment.
According to the CDC, puberty typically occurs between the ages of 12 – 14.
It should be emphasized that it is illegal for an individual <1-17 to possess a handgun in 49 states; however, 30 states allow minors to possess long guns for hunting and recreational activities with parental consent.

Are firearms the leading cause of death for children?
No, firearms are not the leading cause of death for children. Rather, it is the leading cause of death for adolescents in urban centers with a high prevalence of gang membership.
Many studies on adolescents and gun violence include individuals who are between 18 and 19 years old. Others include individuals up to age 24. Unfortunately, this adds a layer of complexity to the topic of gun violence and children.
Nuanced terminology skews the data and distracts conversations away from root problems.

Pretty sure that Abortion is the “the number one killer of kids in America.”
Angry Canadian – BREAKING !! Military going door to door in Ontario ! – YouTube
@Matt_Bracken ; ” You got that gun eh ? Can we see it to make sure you’re safe , eh ? ”
” Assist local police with ‘ wellness checks. “
Maybe someone from CONtario can confirm this.
If true, politely tell them to FO and leave the property.
Don’t engage them beyond that, period.
A commentor on twitface stated to contact your CONservative rep and tell them about this.
Not to worry, they have already drafted the email and mailers indicting they’ll need your money to fight this over reach. Send money…
Not Canadian, but I did see another source….
A Canadian Military Veteran sent me this and she is alarmed about it, to put it mildly.
There is a post on Facebook, about it which leads to this official site
Breaking events in Canada that indicate authoritarian trial balloons and which will be seen everyone in the Developed World soon no doubt – Vlad Tepes
The posted YouTube video claims to be from someone in Goderich, Ontario which is a small town about 3 hrs NW of Toronto, on Lake Huron.
I already don’t open my front door for people I don’t know. I always make use of a door camera and transom window to see who’s there. After covid, I won’t be opening my door or speaking to any law enforcement, government busybody and certainly no one in military garb showing up on my porch.
And if someone shows up on my porch shouting they want to talk to me about firearms, they can FO and get off my property. The law says only the CFO (Chief Firearms Officer) can inspect firearms and firearms storage by an individual licensed firearm owner, and only by scheduling an appointment with the licensed firearms owner in advance. Trudeau’s order in council to ban firearms he doesn’t like is not actually a law but a decree and does not overrule actual law.
Trudeau has tried many different methods to implement his so called gun ban of firearms he doesn’t like since 2020, none of which has gained any traction and already cost Canadians millions of dollars with 0 firearms confiscated. Just last week Canada Post said they will not allow their employees to participate in any gun confiscation activities citing the risk to personal safely for their workers. If the Canadian military is actually going to try door to door as a way to implement Trudeau’s failed gun confiscation plan, good luck with that.
Not the only one but when I was in high skool the back window of my truck held two rifles, a .22 and a .270. There was never a ‘mass’ shooting and nobody stole my truck or guns even tho I never locked my doors.
What DID happen, is that friends would sit in my truck and smoke weed and drain my battery playing tapes, 8 tracks. yep, that old and broke, couldn’t afford the newer casstte decks…. yet.
During pheasant season we all brought our shotguns to school since we only had like 60-90 minutes of daylight after dismissal at 3 pm. If there was a school shooter fifty odd years ago, within two minutes there would have been two dozen guys with 12 gauge shotguns taking on the miscreants.
We did the same thing during quail season and like Moos, nobody ever locked their vehicles. Something has changed in the last 50 years and I don’t think it is firearm related.
We also brought guns to school to go grouse hunting after school and guns were actually brought into the school to be redone in shop class. Schools shut down during deer season so that wasn’t a problem. (lack of students during the deer season).
No shootings, no threats of shootings, and only a very occasional fist fight, but this was a small rural town in the north, about 3000 people, the only minorities and occasional Native American student. We weren’t close to any reservations.
Children and firearms/the correct approach:
I don’t think 19 year old gang member nigs in Shitcago killing each other on weekends for fun should count as “children being killed with guns”, and certainly not BY guns. It’s the other nigs pulling the triggers.
Just outlaw niggers & All Illegals in the country , problem solved !
