With all the PC “being gay is being the way”, the gay football player videos, and bathhouse Barry and Reggie, I thought this post was about Roy, of Siegfried and Roy. I’ve got PTSD from by hetero eyes being assaulted so much lately.

Orbison rocks. Sorry I never had the opportunity to see him live.

I’m guessing Orbison is not in the video, IS. He’s represented by the guitar sitting in the empty rocking chair. I really didn’t Wiki this song (with Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and others), so am I right?

He is represented by the guitar and rocking chair but he appears in the video briefly.

Damnit, I_S, I was close. He’s in the song, but not the video, save for film editing. This from Wiki.

The music video for “End of the Line” was filmed after Roy Orbison’s death in December 1988. To compensate for the loss, a shot of a guitar sitting in a rocking chair next to a photo of Orbison was used when Orbison’s vocals are heard.

Great song, btw.

Traveling Wilburys-a super group indeed. When you assemble a cast where Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne are the relative lightweights, that is saying something. Best part was, they seemed to not take themselves too seriously. That and the music, of course.

This one was released after his death. Cyndi Lauper did a decent version. Slime Dion gimmicked it up to something I would prefer never to hear again.

I think of this as Roy’s best. Maybe because I have flown all night to get to someone I can relate to this more than others would.
