GLOBAL WARMING SURE IS COOL

This Global Warming sure is terrible. We’ve had a record low number of Tornadoes, record low number of 90 degree days, and not a hurricane in sight.Have you seen any MSM news stories about the FACT that this Summer has been so cool and moderate? Not a chance. These facts don’t support their storyline or agenda.

I think the global warming crowd needs to fake some more data or their government grants will dry up. The future is so cold, you need a jacket in the Summer.

Coolest Summer On Record In The US

The frequency of 90 degree days in the US has been plummeting for 80 years, and 2014 has had the lowest frequency of 90 degree days through July 23 on record. The only other year which came close was 1992, and that was due to dust in the atmosphere from Mt Pinatubo.

I love this blog, but you’re a damn fool if you think the planet isn’t warming. What in the world does temperature in the U.S. have to do with GLOBAL average temperatures?

It was the hottest June on a global basis ever recorded.

Global temperature records go back to 1880 and June, 2014 was the 352nd hotter-than-average month in a row.

Explain how the average temperature can rise 352 months in a row?

I get the part about control freaks and taxation. Believe me on that one. They never let a crisis go to waste.

I don’t believe in a carbon tax, or any other taxes i can think of off-hand.

And, honestly, I think there isn’t a damn thing we can do about climate change, other than watch it unfold. Time will tell.

When we do try to tax pollution, we always get it wrong. Here’s just one small example:

We build cars that pollute less, but the only way our economy works is to build more of them, in perpetuity.

And no matter what America does, our sun is setting. Pollution from China and India (as long as the oil holds out) will dwarf what we produce, no matter what we do.

And there is that troubling lag factor with CO2. If we stop producing it now, the temps will still rise for the next thousand years, anyway, from what I gather.

There was a time that certain changes in group behavior could have mattered for the human race, but I believe that time is past.

I wonder if anybody who reads this blog pays more taxes than I do…maybe David Stockman. I should be angrier, I guess.

You’re probably right about China and India, but I just don’t agree with giving up like McPherson. It is frustrating though. Indeed, the model of infinite growth must be addressed. As you can see from responses on this board, it will not come easily.

It is funny though – human psychology that is – For example, one in five people in the U.S. still smoke cigarettes – despite the FACT that it causes terribly debilitating diseases including heart disease and cancer. You can’t make them change though and yet we all pay for their higher health care costs. Why isn’t it illegal? Probably because they’ve paid off billions to politicians to keep it around. Anyway, there’s probably no hope for getting things done on the climate front because, like smoking, 1 in 5 of us are complete assholes.

Ryan,

The correlation between CO2 levels and temperature fluctuations is nonexistent. For 50 years (40s-90s) CO2 production increased, as did temperature.

We have had 17 years of deviation from that particular trend. 17 years is a big fucking deviation when you are talking about less than 100 years of usable data.

Some other points:

The world’s temperature deviations from the mean are still within one standard deviation, not enough to state it is significantly different.

“Data” only goes back reliably to the mid 1800s, and then still only covers small areas. Not to mention instrumentation back then was spotty as well, I mean its not like we had global agencies putting this stuff together.

You want to start making the world better?

Stop subsidizing oil, bring American manufacturing back home where we actually have some laws protecting the environment, and stop driving that Volt that runs on batteries that completely destroyed a Chinese river system.

There’s a start. All this mamby pamby bullshit about carbon credits is just smoke and mirrors and detracts from actual issues plaguing this particular turn around the sun.

This debate continues to be confused with normal climate change and man caused climate change.
Lake Powel 2014, big deal, who cares.
Nobody complained when the Sahara Desert turned from a lush livable area to a desert 4,000 years ago or so. Things change all the time on this big blue ball, with man, or without man.

At one time, looooooooong before man came around North America and most of Europe was covered under a mile of ice, for a looooooooong time.

We’ve been uncovered (20,000 years) less than we’ve been covered (2.6 million), so logically speaking normal climate is ice covered.
What caused the last ice age and why did we warm up? Scientist haven’t a fucking clue, they have theories is all.
They don’t even know why we had a mini ice age that lasted 300 years (give or take) and ended around the 1850’s. They just know it did, not the why.

So we are supposed to just believe a bunch of government paid alarmist theorist and their guesses?

No way.

Remember that last ice age: The earth is currently in an interglacial, and the last glacial period ended about 10,000 years ago. All that remains of the continental ice sheets are the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets and smaller glaciers such as on Baffin Island.

The earth has been warming and cooling since there was an atmosphere. It will cool again, and it will warm again.

This global warming / climate change is nothing more than an attempt by liberals to control everyone else. This is the liberal mindset – control / big government / rules / the government knows better than ‘you’.

Being the cynical bastard that I am, I’m quietly rooting for MAN MADE global warming to take out the human race even though I know that it won’t.

When I was a kid they were scaring the shit out of us kids by telling us that another Ice Age was coming and that the entire northern half of the USA would be uninhabitable in just a few decades. I didn’t buy it then and I’m not buying it now.

I MIGHT be able to give Al Gore and his ilk a tiny bit of consideration if I KNEW that they would not be making ENORMOUS profits off of global warming by establishing carbon credit exchanges that DO NOT reduce carbon emissions by one fucking micro gram. The exchanges just act as middlemen to enrich the elites like Al Gore himself. Ol’ Al might be a tad bit more believable if the cocksucker rode a bicycle everywhere and dismantled his private jets and moved into a micro house but tube steaks like him just want to dictate to everyone else while raking in huge profits. FUCK ALL OF THEM!

“For example, one in five people in the U.S. still smoke cigarettes – despite the FACT that it causes terribly debilitating diseases including heart disease and cancer. You can’t make them change though and yet we all pay for their higher health care costs. Why isn’t it illegal?

Why should it be illegal? What should happen is that they smoke, pay for their own treatment and then……..they die. Problem fixed! But no, bleeding heart ass clowns instead provide billions of dollars to keep them alive. Besides, the govt, made up of idiots like you, is too addicted to the tax revenue brought in from tobacco even though it gets cancelled out by the money spent to keep smokers alive.

Ryan, there is such a thing as too much education and I think you’ve reached the saturation point. Look at all the taxes and govt. fees we already pay to fix that or prevent this………..does it ever work? I thought not yet you swallow that “tax ’em to fix it” line like a SF homo sucking a dick. Taxes are not about fixing problems, they are about robbing from the poor to enrich the elites. Dumbass!

Scientists abandon global warming ‘lie’- 650 to dissent at U.N. climate change conference

WASHINGTON – A United Nations climate change conference in Poland is about to get a surprise from 650 leading scientists who scoff at doomsday reports of man-made global warming – labeling them variously a lie, a hoax and part of a new religion.

Later today, their voices will be heard in a U.S. Senate minority report quoting the scientists, many of whom are current and former members of the U.N.’s own Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

About 250 of the scientists quoted in the report have joined the dissenting scientists in the last year alone.

In fact, the total number of scientists represented in the report is 12 times the number of U.N. scientists who authored the official IPCC 2007 report.

Here are some choice excerpts from the report:

* “I am a skeptic … . Global warming has become a new religion.” — Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.

* “Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly … . As a scientist I remain skeptical.” — Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a Ph.D. in meteorology and formerly of NASA who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called “among the most pre-eminent scientists of the last 100 years.”

* Warming fears are the “worst scientific scandal in the history … . When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists.” — U.N. IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning Ph.D. environmental physical chemist.

* “The IPCC has actually become a closed circuit; it doesn’t listen to others. It doesn’t have open minds … . I am really amazed that the Nobel Peace Prize has been given on scientifically incorrect conclusions by people who are not geologists.” — Indian geologist Dr. Arun D. Ahluwalia at Punjab University and a board member of the U.N.-supported International Year of the Planet.

* “The models and forecasts of the U.N. IPCC “are incorrect because they only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity.” — Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

* “It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don’t buy into anthropogenic global warming.” — U.S. Government Atmospheric Scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg of the Hurricane Research Division of NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

* “Even doubling or tripling the amount of carbon dioxide will virtually have little impact, as water vapor and water condensed on particles as clouds dominate the worldwide scene and always will.” — Geoffrey G. Duffy, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering of the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

* “After reading [U.N. IPCC chairman] Pachauri’s asinine comment [comparing skeptics to] Flat Earthers, it’s hard to remain quiet.” — Climate statistician Dr. William M. Briggs, who specializes in the statistics of forecast evaluation, serves on the American Meteorological Society’s Probability and Statistics Committee and is an associate editor of Monthly Weather Review.

* “For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming? For how many years must cooling go on?” — Geologist Dr. David Gee, the chairman of the science committee of the 2008 International Geological Congress who has authored 130 plus peer-reviewed papers, and is currently at Uppsala University in Sweden.

* “Gore prompted me to start delving into the science again and I quickly found myself solidly in the skeptic camp … . Climate models can at best be useful for explaining climate changes after the fact.” — Meteorologist Hajo Smit of Holland, who reversed his belief in man-made warming to become a skeptic, is a former member of the Dutch U.N. IPCC committee.

* “Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined.” — Atmospheric physicist James A. Peden, formerly of the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.

* “Creating an ideology pegged to carbon dioxide is a dangerous nonsense … . The present alarm on climate change is an instrument of social control, a pretext for major businesses and political battle. It became an ideology, which is concerning.” — Environmental Scientist Professor Delgado Domingos of Portugal, the founder of the Numerical Weather Forecast group, has more than 150 published articles.

* “CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or another … . Every scientist knows this, but it doesn’t pay to say so … . Global warming, as a political vehicle, keeps Europeans in the driver’s seat and developing nations walking barefoot.” — Dr. Takeda Kunihiko, vice-chancellor of the Institute of Science and Technology Research at Chubu University in Japan.

* “The [global warming] scaremongering has its justification in the fact that it is something that generates funds.” — Award-winning Paleontologist Dr. Eduardo Tonni, of the Committee for Scientific Research in Buenos Aires and head of the Paleontology Department at the University of La Plata.

The report also includes new peer-reviewed scientific studies and analyses refuting man-made warming fears and a climate developments that contradict the theory.
