ANNUAL KEEP TBP FIGHTING INTERNET-A-THON

Operators are standing by.

You may or may not have noticed the Keep TBP Fighting Thermometer has dropped back down to $0 again. You see, the bills to keep this site running and protected from the government and whoever tried to silence it last year keep coming month after month. My cost to run the site has gone up by a factor of 10 in the last two years.

Olimometer 2.52

During the denial of service attack last year, I was only hours from pulling the plug on the site. But, a like minded fellow blogger – Mike Krieger – contacted me and put me in touch with The Man With No Name.

He singlehandedly fought off the dastardly denial of service outlaws (Google?) and generously agreed to house our site on his server. You may have noticed the site has run like a well oiled clock since he assumed command behind the scenes. But good safe service comes at a cost.

The generosity of the regulars from TBP and complete strangers who never comment was overwhelming and heartwarming. The letters and notes of support all sit on my desk next to my computer. They have gone a long way in keeping me toiling away trying to uncover the truth and providing a forum where like minded citizens can learn and discuss ideas. I’ve learned so much from the TBP community.

So, firstly I’d like to thank everyone who has made a contribution in the past to Keep TBP Fighting. There are a dedicated cadre of TBP members who contribute every month. I’d love to do a shout out personally to every person who has contributed, but that would make it easier for DHS to track you down when the SHTF. So I’ll keep that private.

My preference has always been to try and pay for the site with ads. This preferred method has been rocky. It usually starts out well and then goes south quickly. Google Adsense banned me. A couple others also banned me. Recently, I began getting complaints the site was moving too slowly. The Man With No Name did a test and found that some of the new ads were dramatically slowing down the site. So, I had to end my relationship with three ad companies. I just can’t rely on a steady stream of ad revenue to pay the bills.

Of course, it wouldn’t hurt if you occasionally clicked on some ads, checked gold prices, or bought some crap through my Amazon button.

But, if you think this site provides a useful service, useful information, or just a place for you to visit with friends, and you have the resources, please click the donate button on the right side of the page or use the PO Box listed to send a contribution.

I don’t like to do this, so this will be the last solicitation for the entire year. I’ll just update the Keep TBP Fighting Thermometer as the contributions come in. Thanks again for all your moral and financial support over the years.

Remember. Freedom isn’t free and we are not alone.

Its a hard knock life for bloggers who seek to destroy the influence of cheap churnalism by explaining shit using frilly things such as facts and research.

I’ll also submit that if something happens to Stucky, I doubt TBP could survive. Perhaps we should have another fund drive to help keep Stucky alive for another twenty years. If we consider that he almost died from eating a hamburger, I think maybe a taste tester is in order. I don’t know how much a monkey costs, but it (maybe call it bb?) could taste stucky’s food to make sure he doesn’t die from poisoning.

Administrator says:
“Did anyone notice Kate’s American flag belt buckle?”

I did! I’ve always had the ability to step back and take in the bigger picture rather than a few “pertinent” details. That is also the biggest reason the People of Walmart posts are so painful and traumatic. I only have one eye so I should really stop looking at those posts lest I go completely blind.

I had to scroll through the People of Walmart post without looking. Something about big women with back fat that resemble boobs and old people sporting skid marks just ruins my day.

Other than the outstanding work and incredible dedication Jim exhibits bringing us this site, there really are quite a few knowledgeable commenters here, all worth saving, so keep on donating.

Pretend you are a voting democrat, donate early, and donate often.

Llpoh could handle business outlook articles.
Stucky could handle feel good and recipe articles.
TE could handle natural medical and health articles.
T4C could just keep doing her fine work.
Billy could handle firearms and protecting the homestead.
HSF: could keep doing his fine work.
Muck About could keep doing his fine work.

DC Sunsets, Stephine, HZK….. If I forgot somebody I’m sorry, no grand kids to watch today, the sun is out warming the sun-room, and a couch is calling me for a nap.

Card – I would struggle with business outlook articles. I mean, how many ways are there to say “Watch out below!”, and “Buyer beware!” and such? But I will try to write something soon – I love the beatings it brings me.

I am in a foul mood reading the crap about the march in France (what an amazing good-for-nothing exercise that was), Orlov’s bullshit about abandoning free speech and handing over parts of the country for the Muslim’s to self-govern, etc.

Whenever I think things cannot be more screwed up, well there I am – wrong again.

Admin, I feel you.

Previously, when you asked for funds, I just didn’t think they were mine to give (even tho dad got quite a bit out of your site too, when I would surf it in front of him). Now, well I’m having a hell of a time trying to just cover the bills.

Applied for a couple of jobs today, I’m sure one of them will take me on. Even knowing I won’t be around much for long, its just fill hours to pay rent. Things WILL get crazy (where i am at currently) come summer, and while this next time around I’ll be taking the whole ride, I’ll be saving for this glut the following winter. I can guarantee I will have some excess I will be able to share for the greater good of the TBP community. At this point I feel I owe all of you a few $k, but if I can spare a hundred or two, it will be what I can spare. (Working minimum wage sucks.)

Keep the fight going, I’m just trying to keep a roof over my head at this point, but I also see the excess that I will have in the coming year–unless everything unravels before then….

One of the cooks where I work as recently as Nov had 60 OT hrs in a 2 week period (so 140hrs total, in two weeks). Moving from senior dishwasher to cook status will not only effect my pay rate, but the hours I get, on a regular basis. Jan 1st – April 1st are going to be hard, thus why I’m looking for a 2nd job, but don’t think I’ll need that this time next year.

Wow. Did the math from what I understand cooks to start at, and at least 1 raise that I know of that the guy I mentioned above has received. Before taxes/child support, he grossed about $2400 (at least) for that 2 week period.

I understand that working that kind of hours leaves you with no life, but hell…. with that kind of income even that late in the season, I could probably afford to start stacking PMs.

I will have other expenses tho, as any serious cook will have their own private knife set, etc. Which is something that work would help me with (or at least finance internally, likely at 0% interest), but I begin to wonder…. If I can find better sources for ordering product (aka: going straight to the mfg.), then wouldn’t I perhaps be able to source online myself a better product for cheaper?

I do know that one item we have at work that I wanted for myself to use at home, I ended up finding the original company that created that product, and is from the MSP/St. Paul, MN area. They call them sizzle platters. Old fashioned steak houses still serve on them to this day. They still mfg in the USA, and you can even just buy a “case” of an individual part of what should be a kit. Name of the company: “Service Ideas.”

Few months back the mgr of the front end of the house was trying to find lids for some of the creamer dispensers, and could only find one for the dozen plus we have. I recommended that she check the above co out as a potential source. She found what she was looking for there, and for about 1/3 the cost that it would have cost her to use her usual sources.

Supported American jobs, yet cut cost. I call that mission accomplished.

MSP is the airport code for down there, should have said Minnieapolis/St. Paul, MN to be clear.

And why do I want those sizzle platters? I want those stainless steel “plates” so I can BBQ Bacon!

Don’t tell anyone where I work, but I did borrow one once, used it on the BBQ to do up some Johnsonville Bratwurst patties… worked just as good as any flat top grill, if not better (easier to clean).
