Remember when shortly after the avalanche victory of the GOP in both the House and the Senate the pundits said that with the lame duck president in his final stretch, now is the time when long-overdue legislation would finally get passed? They were wrong.
- OBAMA NOTIFIES U.S. SENATE OF VETO OF KEYSTONE PIPELINE APPROVAL BILL
- OBAMA VETOES REPUBLICAN ATTEMPT TO FORCE KEYSTONE APPROVAL
The Republican reaction:
- U.S. SENATE MAJORITY LEADER MITCH MCCONNELL SAYS CHAMBER WILL CONSIDER OVERRIDE OF KEYSTONE PIPELINE VETO NO LATER THAN MARCH 3.
- BOEHNER SAYS OBAMA KEYSTONE VETO IS `NATIONAL EMBARASSMENT’
As Bloomberg adds, Obama’s action sets up new round of votes in Congress that will likely fail as supporters don’t have enough backing to override veto. As a reminder, the Senate vote was 62-36, while House vote was 270-152; with a two-thirds majority required to override veto.
Of course, when the Fed gives a greenlight to keep pumping up the “wealth effect” and make the rich – the same people who contro Congress anyway – richer, who actually needs any laws getting passed? Indeed, in the immortal words of Chuck Schumer, when the Mr. Chairmanwoman is “getting to work”, Congress is merely ornamental.
Sooooo, no code of reforms I guess. Fine by me, why be a willing participant.
Gotta keep that extra $20/bbl rolling into Buffet’s pockets.
Only promise he’s kept in the past 6 years. Excellent.
Obama is a tool and a fool.
West coasters why is it excellent
A large majority of Americans support the construction of the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline extension between Canada and the U.S., a Washington Post-ABC News poll has found.
About 82 percent of Republicans, 65 percent of independents and 51 percent of Democrats said they backed the project. As many as 85 percent said they believe the pipeline will create a significant number of jobs.
http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2014/03/07/poll-most-americans-support-keystone-xl-pipeline-including-democrats
Once again Obama stands with the Cocksucking Liberal Treehuggers. The pipeline will get built it’s just a matter of time.
maybe the next derailment will be in or near DC
Once again this is an example of the glaring differences between Republicans and democrats.
Sensetti – I see that the ball-less Repubs have folded like a cheap tent on denying funds to Homeland Security because of Obama’s illegal amnesty move.
Yep, those Repubs sure are men of integrity.
What a fucking joke. If they had any balls whatsoever, any integrity whatsoever, they would block the entire budget until Obama rolls over and bites the pillow.
Yep, those Repubs sure are a great alternative to the Dems.
Amazing you cannot see that they are cowardly fucks that are no better than sewer rats – same as the Dems.
Yeah, I saw the article last week at Huffington Post that asked “Who gets the Blame for the DHS Shutdown?”
I felt it was worded improperly. It should have read: “Who gets the CREDIT for shutting the POS DHS down?”
LLPOH you and the good people of your State do whatever the fuck you want. In my State we ran the Dimocrats out, and let me tell you something, at the end of the day we’ll be better for it.
“..at the end of the day we’ll be better for it.”
The past hundred years of the divide and conquer system says you won’t.
KB we are already seeing positive moves by our New Governor.
Sensetti – your fucking soapbox preaching is growing old.
Everyone here knows how stupid the Dems are. They are evil and truly stupid.
But the Repubs are, too. You remember Bush dragging the US into Iraq, right? That is just a for instance on what lies at the heart of the Repubs. How many people died because of those smegma stains? How much did it cost?
I gave you another example re the spineless pieces of shit being too cowardly to act on the illegal actions of Obama.
And you are buying into the narrative like a lemming at the edge of the cliff.
Vote for the lesser of two evils if you must. But at least acknowledge you are voting for Satan. They are not saints, and that is for fucking certain.
KB we are already seeing positive moves by our New Governor. -Sens
People said the same about Christie.
The damage Obama is doing to our nation’s security, on whatever subject you wish to choose, is appalling. To reject safer, greater and cheaper oil imports through a pipeline from our country’s closest and most valuable ally, Canada, is simply beyond comprehension.
On the legal side, 5 more senators and 19 more representatives in the House are all that’s needed to reject this idiot’s veto. Think about that. 24 people out of 330 million are all that’s needed to overturn the veto. Won’t happen. National security be damned.
Forgive me, Sens, I don’t mean to dismiss your new governor, I hope he, or she, does as their constituents wish, but I cannot, will not and do not trust a politician.
I ask, you and others, “Would you run for public office and take the position if elected?”
I wouldn’t. It is far too corrupted by outside interests. You can change who sits in office but you will find it much harder to change the surroundings that elected them. By this I mean the unelected culture of DC’s myriad of think tanks and foundations that are the advisers of the elected and who they ultimately represent.
I agree SSS, why Obama vetoes a cheaper and more reliable means of transport can only, IMO, result from campaign donations by corporate sponsors.
My opinion is that that republicans are the great satan and the democrats are the little satan.
Has anyone bothered to note that all that oil is being exported out of the country?
Rail vs Pipeline??
Who cares???
The American public benefits from neither arrangement!
Outside of the crony players involved, only suckers and chumps argue a positions on this!!!
The oil is not being exported out of the country. The oil is being refined in this country into gasoline and diesel. The demand for gasoline and diesel has been declining, so the US has excess refined products which are being exported. Only idiots and retards act like they know what they are talking about when they don’t.
But thanks for playing moron.
Administrator says:
<bi>”The oil is not being exported out of the country.”
And your source for that statement is???
My source is my own research abilities you moron. As Roy points out, we import 8 million barrels of oil per day. Jesus some people are thick.
Oil is not being exported because it is illegal to export crude oil, only refined products. We import 8 million barrels of crude oil a day, why would we export crude?
@Roy:
I never said “crude” was being exported.
I said: “oil is being exported out of the country.”
Admin admits this. He said: “so the US has excess refined products which are being exported.”
Conclusion: American oil production is being “exported.”
Q: Who benefits from this.
Q: If we truly have “excess refined products,” why is the price of gasoline not lower than it is.
Wtf is your problem?
How does exporting milk benefit the average American?
How does exporting corn or wheat benefit the average American?
Why isn’t the cost of milk, corn and wheat lower than it is?
Do you understand the simple concept of supply and demand? Why do you think gasoline has dropped by $1 per gallon in the last six months?
yourmotherwasamoron
Can someone please explain to this “moron” how American oil production (transported via rail or pipe) benefits the average American if it’s sold over seas?
Who benefits from this arrangement?
“Excess reserves???”
Ya right! And I’ve got beach front property on the moon I’ll sell you for a song.
Just who’s “thick” here?
“Oil is not being exported because it is illegal to export crude oil.”
“The United States exports small volumes of domestically produced crude oil, most of it to Canada.”
Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration dot gov.
So much for “illegal.”
“Why do you think gasoline has dropped by $1 per gallon in the last six months?”
It’s called collusion and manipulation.
See “Economic Warfare.”
You can’t seriously believe the price of gasoline in this country reflects a free market!
BTW: How far can I push before you 86 my IP?
I suspect you calling me a “moron” has a shelf like.
Why would I 86 your IP?
I think it is beneficial to the fine readers of TBP to witness the thought process of an outright idiot.
How come you didn’t answer my questions about milk, corn, wheat and any other product the US exports? Why is oil the only manipulated product?
I can’t wait to see your astute ponderings on the matter.
Do you understand the difference between petroleum and ‘”oil” as in fish oil, corn oil. soy bean oil and all the plastics?
The US exports condensates to Canada and also Venezuela to dilute the bitumen (tar sands oil) at a 40 to 1 ratio so it will flow through pipelines. Non of these are true crude oil by API (specific gravity) definition. [
The US EIA (Energy Information Agency) has the same owners as the BLS (Bureau of Labor Statics) and uses the same obfuscation to make things appear to be something they are not.
“The US EIA (Energy Information Agency) has the same owners as the BLS (Bureau of Labor Statics) and uses the same obfuscation to make things appear to be something they are not.”
So the EIA is lying when it reports the U.S. is exporting crude?
yourmotherdroppedyouonyourhead
If you had an ounce of inquisitiveness you could answer your own questions.
http://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.cfm?id=687&t=6
“The Gulf Coast refineries export product rather than send more to the East Coast which receives most of its gasoline import volumes because pipeline capacity and domestic waterborne shipping constraints currently discourage increased volumes from traveling from the Gulf Coast to the East Coast.
Source: EIA. “Why is the United States exporting gasoline when prices are so high?”
Again… Who benefits???
Someone is gaming the thumb system again. It is not possible that Admin gets thumbs down as being shown.
I guess hismotherisawhore is doing it somehow.
Sic him Admin.
BTW – did you get the drachmas I sent?
llpoh
We haven’t checked the PO Box in over a week. I was hoping for rubles.
“I guess hismotherisawhore is doing it somehow.”
LOL…
Beware of conspiracy theories!
Rubies? Sheesh- next you will want gold.
