Cultural Cleansing of Christian Males

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

Cultural Cleansing of Christian Males

The culture war against Christianity is picking up speed.

Last week came word Saint Louis University will remove a heroic-sized statue of Fr. Pierre-Jean De Smet S.J. from the front of Fusz Hall, where it has stood for 60 years.

The statue depicts Fr. De Smet holding aloft a crucifix as he ministers to two American Indians, one of whom is kneeling.

Historically, the statue is accurate. Fr. De Smet, “Blackrobe,” as he was known, was a 19th-century missionary to Indian tribes who converted thousands. A friend of Sitting Bull, he spent his last years in St. Louis.

And as the mission of this Jesuit university is, presumably, to instruct the Catholic young in their faith and send them out into the world to bring the good news of Jesus Christ as Lord and savior to nonbelievers, what exactly is the problem here?

According to SLU Assistant Vice President for Communications Clayton Berry, “some faculty and staff … raised questions about whether the sculpture is culturally sensitive.” Senior Ryan McKinley is more specific: “The statue of De Smet depicts a history of colonialism, imperialism, racism and of Christian and white supremacy.”

But if the founder of Christianity is the Son of God, then Christianity is a superior religion. What Ryan and those faculty and staff seem to be ashamed of, uncomfortable with, or unable to defend, is the truth for which Saint Louis University was supposed to stand.

But simply because they are cowardly, or politically correct, why should that statue be going into the SLU art museum? Why should not they themselves depart for another institution where their sensitivities will not be assaulted by artistic expressions of religious truths?

The message the SLU president should have given the dissenters is simple: We are a Catholic university that welcomes students and faculty not of the faith. But if you find our identity objectionable, then go somewhere else. We are not changing who we are.

Yet another missionary to the Indians is now becoming a figure of controversy. On his September visit to Washington, D.C., Pope Francis plans to canonize Fr. Junipero Serra, the Spanish Franciscan whom John Paul II beatified in 1988, who converted thousands of Indians in California in the 18th century, when it still belonged to Mexico.

Fr. Serra established nine missions up the coast, among them missions that would grow into San Diego, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Barbara and San Francisco.

Not only is Fr. Serra’s name famous in California, his statue has stood since 1931 in the U.S. Capitol in one of two places set aside for the Golden State. The other statue representing California is that of President Ronald Reagan, unveiled in 2009, which replaced a statue of the preacher Thomas Starr King.

With the pope coming here to canonize Fr. Serra, the war drums have begun. It is said the priest accompanied Spanish soldiers who brutalized the Indians, and Fr. Serra helped to eradicate their religion and culture, replacing it with his own.

Now a move is afoot to remove Fr. Serra’s statue.

According to the Religion New Service, “State Sen. Ricardo Lara, an openly gay Los Angeles Democrat, wants to replace a bronze statue of Serra with a monument honoring Sally Ride, the nation’s first female astronaut. Lara said Ride would become ‘the first member of the LGBT community’ to be honored in Statuary Hall.”

Another drive is underway by feminists to remove the visage of Andrew Jackson from the $20 bill and replace it with that of a woman, preferably a minority woman. Jackson, it is said, was responsible for the ethnic cleansing of the Cherokees in the Trail of Tears.

Yet, Jackson, slashed across the head by a British soldier in the last days of the Revolution for refusing to polish his boots, was also arguably the greatest soldier-statesman in American history.

Gen. Jackson led the 1815 defense of New Orleans against the British invasion force, and crushed the Indian marauders in Florida, drove out the Spanish governor, and cleared the path for annexation.

Twice elected president, Jackson is, with Jefferson, a father of the Democratic Party, and he and his proteges Sam Houston and James K. Polk virtually doubled the size of the United States.

One Internet poll advanced four leading candidates to replace Jackson: Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks, Wilma Mankiller and Harriet Tubman.

But when we look at who is currently on America’s currency — George Washington on the $1 bill, Abe Lincoln on the $5, Hamilton on the $10, Jackson on the $20, Ulysses S. Grant on the $50, Ben Franklin on the $100 — do any of these women really compete in terms of historic achievement with what those great men accomplished?

Aren’t we carrying this affirmative action business a bit too far?

What all these arguments are at bottom all about, however, is a deep divide among us over the question: Was the European Christian conquest of America, given its flaws and failings, on balance, a great and good thing. Or not?

“What I am arguing against is, frankly, ethnic parochialism. Please compare the economic, technological, social and cultural development between China and Europe between 1000 – 1500 AD. Would the Chinese at that time have been somewhat justified in considering their culture to be superior? True, Europeans have been the Lords of Creation since about 1500 AD, but are you quite certain that will continue?”

@Anarcho: you are digging yourself a deep hole. With enough posts you’ll have your own Göbekli Tepe. 1000-1500 AD is a terrible comparison because much of Mediterranean Europe was very highly civilized at that time. Yes, England was not super great, but it had been nearly a millennium since the Romans left. Oh, wait, did I mention the Romans? Ever heard of them? There’s an empire and civilization for you. And before them the Greek city-states. And well before that, the Mycenean age, the various great temple builders of c. 1200 BC. And more still before that, such as on Crete.

China has had empires for a while, but they too have gone through numerous phases of growth, glory, peak, and collapse. Pick the right dates and Europe looks vastly better. Where would you rather be, as a person of the local ethnicity, in 1700, 1800, 1900, or 1960? 100 BC? Constantinople in 500 AD vs. Shanghai? (By the way, what is now Turkey has a very long and varied history, and to think of it as middle eastern or Arab is somewhat misleading now, and greatly misleading when viewed historically.)

@Billy,

Did a little research on Göbekli Tepe. Interesting, but what is it intended to prove? I can find no way to connect the site to any existing culture. The builders were probably genetically closer to Kurds or Iraqis than to anybody in Europe, i.e. non-Indo-European. – AP

What is it intended to prove?

GT is a gigantic site that dates to 10,000 BC, well before the dates all the ‘experts’ agree on for things like crop domestication, animal domestication, large hierarchical societies, engineering, etc…

These things must exist as a prerequisite for a site like GT to be built. We weren’t all cave-dwellers, eating berries and chucking pointy sticks at our dinner when one guy said “Hey! Let’s build this shit!” You need immense numbers of workers, properly organized, fed, compensated, etc, plus artisans, engineers, etc.

How it links in with the Chinks is that if you’re using the “Well, they’re superior because they came first!” metric, the Chinks get blown away by the sheer age of GT, if not the scale and construction itself. It was thousands of years old when the pyramids of Giza were still brand new.

How are they related to the Kurds again? Or is that just pure speculation? I’ve never heard that advanced before, mostly because ZERO remains have been found. Not even one single tool. Which means whomever built it is just as likely to be a bunch of blue-eyed, blonde haired Caucasians as Kurds…

Asia Minor was inhabited by the predecessors of the Greeks, to the best of my knowledge.

Bob

Sorry … just got back from Trader Joe’s …. 100% organic Concord grape juice, not from concentrate for just $3.99 …. got a case!

The context of Peter statement …. Jesus asks “Who do you say I am?”, and Peter says “the Christ, the Son of the living God”. It is upon this “statement of faith” upon which the church will be built.

Of course, the Catholic church believes differently …. that Jesus meant the Catholic Church …. which wouldn’t exist for another 300+ years. Strange. Not to mention that “THIS rock” is in the land of Israel …. not Rome, Italy.

Personally, I don’t believe Peter said that … well, at least not at THAT time. I don’t think any of the apostles yet knew that Jesus was “the Christ”. That would come AFTER the resurrection. Heck, Peter denied Christ three times at his darkest hour! The Gospels weren’t written until 30 some years after the resurrection, so the author may have “remembered” this incident into the story.

Jesus was using a play on words. Going from memory here …. the name Peter means, I believe, “pebble”. So, in essence, Jesus is saying “Peter, even though you’re just a pebble, your statement of faith is the solid rock upon which the church will be built.”

Peter operated WITHIN the confines of Judaism, meaning, NOT a separate “religion”, but a sect within Judaism. Peter and Paul constantly fought about what it meant to be a Christian. Peter wanted to keep Jewish traditions, such as circumcision, while Paul wanted to chuck it all — ie, a new religion.

Lastly, it is highly probable that Jesus was illiterate. Oh, noes!!! Oh, yes. Jesus left us with ZERO writings (except the one time he SCRIBBLED something in the sand.) Paul wrote about half the New Testament. Jesus died with a less than a handful of followers left at the foot of the cross. Paul evangelized the Roman empire. So, who started what?

Yes, you made an absurd statement. No, I did lose my shit. Believe me, if or when I lose my shit it will be perfectly clear.

I understand the difference between government intervention and church missionaries unaffiliated with any government. Thank you for pointing it out.

Billy and other gun owners will love this.

===============================

House Democrat Rep. Carolyn Maloney (N.Y.) has introduced a bill that would require gun owners to carry liability insurance.

The Firearm Risk Protection Act, unveiled Friday, would require gun buyers to have liability insurance coverage before being allowed to purchase a weapon, and would impose a fine of $10,000 if an owner is found not to have it. Service members and law enforcement officers, however, would be exempt from the requirement.

“We require insurance to own a car, but no such requirement exists for guns,” Maloney said in a statement. “The results are clear: car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade, but gun fatalities continue to rise.”

@Billy,

Klaus Schmidt, who led the excavation of Göbekli Tepe, seems to be well within the tradition of ‘experts’ that agree on things like the dates of crop cultivation, large hierarchical societies, etc. Are you drawing your information from some other source?

“whomever built it is just as likely to be a bunch of blue-eyed, blonde haired Caucasians as Kurds”. Had to look up the Kurds, turns out they’re Western Iranian peoples, so it’s highly unlikely they had anything to do with the site (see, that was me admitting I was wrong). The ‘experts’ say that the first Indo-European people in Anatolia, the Hittites, arrived there in the 3rd millennium BC, about 7,000 years after construction started on the site. I suppose it could have been reptilian space aliens who built it, there’s as much evidence of that as there is of blue-eyed blonde haired Caucasians, in any case the site has squat to do with Europeans. The predecessors of the Greeks were exactly that, predecessors.

Again, I am not saying that the Chinese are superior because they came first. That is what it seemed to me that bb was saying.

@Persnickety,

You’re correct on the facts, but missing the conclusion. You agree that both Europe and China have seen “numerous phases of growth, glory, peak, and collapse”. That is evidence against the view that there is some enduring superiority of Western culture or White people. Cultural dominance rises and falls, and it looks to me like Western dominance is falling right now, how do you see it? By the way, I’m aware that Asia Minor has a long and varied history, I’m just saying that prior to about 2500 BC, Indo-Europeans weren’t a part of it.

@Anarcho: not missing the point, nor am I arguing that white Europeans are the only intelligent people. I am arguing that white Europeans have one of the longest and best track records for advanced civilization. China compares well, and although I think Europe is ahead on the whole, that could be debated at length. However, Europe and China together are beyond any other group I can think of (with the runners up, in no particular order, including the Indus Valley, other Indian subcontinent areas, Japan, Korea, and SE Asia) and far, far beyond any group sub-Saharan Africa.

We can debate at length Europe vs. China for history of civilizations, and should be mindful that the people in each area today are not 100% identical to the people of 1000, 2000 or 4000 years ago; but I can’t see any real debate of Europe and China vs. sub-Saharan Africa, Australia, Melanesia/Polynesia, or even the ancient Americas (being fully aware of the Incas, Aztecs, Maya, Olmecs, Toltecs, and Mississippian mound builders).

Stuck – that statue does not offend me in any way (if it has “redskins” on it, well, that is not so good, but no real isue).

My research on the guy seems to suggest that he was a good person by and large, and suffered great hardship trying to bring Christianity to the Indians, and worked on their behalf.

However, he fucked up big time when he encouraged Sitting Bull to sign the Treaty of Fort Laramie in 1868 – guess he trusted the paleface to honor it – which granted the Lakota the Black Hills.

By 1877, the treaty was broken (now there is a fucking surprise), and another war against the Indian resulted, and the land guaranteed the Lakota was seized (what a fucking surprise), and has never been returned to them.

Seems that someone found gold on the rez, and the white miners flooded onto the Lakota land. The US govt took no action (now there is another fucking surprise), and so the Lakota began to defend their land against the miners.

The US govt Said “Hey, those dirty fucking Redskins are breaking the treaty! Let’s take their land! And kill a whole bunch of them to boot!” Another major fucking surprise.

And so the Lakota lost the land guaranteed by treaty. So in that, the good friar played a part in the subterfuge, albeit unintentionally I think.

Back to “redskin’ – I am not generally offended by that use in historical context. However, I do say it is quite offensive to use it, and a caricature thereof ) in a commercial sense – exemplified by the Washington football teams. That is disrespectful, and as I have said before is akin to calling the team the Washington Niggers or some-such. In my opinion it really should cease.

Fr. Pierre-Jean De Smet seems like an A-ok fellow in general, especially given the situation of the time.

To pull that down and blame it on being racially insensitive or whatever is fucking farcical.

@Billy,

Watched the start of the Valberg video, after about 8 minutes it was clear that the man is not a linguist, in fact probably speaks no language aside from English. His critique of “African language” would seem to apply to any oral language; when exactly did German become a written language? Earliest I can think of is Beowulf. Suggest you might check out this book:

I don’t think any of what McWhorter writes would be controversial among linguists.

Uh, no.. no I don’t love it.

Another fucking democunt trying to make life tougher for us…

Thing is, the only thing we have ever wanted was to be left the fuck alone..

Seems to me if there were a group of people known to be heavily armed, fucking with them would be the last thing I would want to do…

Service members and law enforcement officers, however, would be exempt from the requirement.

Of course, because the groups traditionally responsible for the most pain, suffering and death in human history are the ones you want to exempt from this…

“We require insurance to own a car, but no such requirement exists for guns,” Maloney said in a statement. “The results are clear: car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade, but gun fatalities continue to rise.”

There are no words in the languages of men to adequately describe the monumental stupidity of these last two sentences…

I predict that this will go down in flames… along with other great ideas, like the 10,000% tax on ammunition, etc…

AP said “And virtually any linguist will tell you that every human language is more than fully sophisticated enough for practically any communication, all that might be lacking is vocabulary, which is easily added.”

If it is added later by a foreign culture, which most added words in native sub-Sahahran African languages were, the concept of the added word likely did not exist. Without the concept and a word to associate it with, it is very hard if not impossible to think of things as most people think in their language. A less complex language equals less complex thoughts and ideas. This was clearly recognised by Orwell and the dumbing down of the English language, new-speak and all of that as most people can not think beyond what the language they know is capable of conveying. Given this, what does that mean about Sub-Saharan African languages in their pre-colonial form and the thought processes of the people who used such a language?

Sooooo, what? You’re attempting to impeach the topic of the talk by impeaching the guy giving the talk?

8 whole minutes huh? You really went all out, didn’tcha?

Klaus Schmidt, who led the excavation of Göbekli Tepe, seems to be well within the tradition of ‘experts’ that agree on things like the dates of crop cultivation, large hierarchical societies, etc. Are you drawing your information from some other source?

As a matter of fact, no. There was a video at the GT site that I saw a year or two ago, showing I believe a much younger Klaus Schmidt (from what I can remember, it was a youngish looking German with a beard in the video) exuberantly talking about how the discovery of GT would push back estimates of crop domestication, animal domestication, etc, how it would ‘change everything’ since GT itself would require those things as a prerequisite to being built, and it clearly pre-dated the earliest estimates of those things…

And then there’s this from GT’s own website.. http://gobeklitepe.info/

In a time when even simple hand tools were hard to come by, how did they get these stone blocks there, and how did they erect them? With no settlement or society to speak of, with farming still a far cry away, in a world of only roaming hunter-gatherers, the complexity and developed blueprints of these temples represented another enigma for archeologists. Do we have to change our vision of how and when civilized human history began?

Not that I put a whole lot of faith in Wiki, but…

Through the radiocarbon method, the end of Layer III can be fixed at about 9000 BCE (see above) but it is believed that the elevated location may have functioned as a spiritual center by 11,000 BCE or even earlier.

The surviving structures, then, not only predate pottery, metallurgy, and the invention of writing or the wheel, they were built before the so-called Neolithic Revolution, i.e., the beginning of agriculture and animal husbandry around 9000 BCE.

So there’s that…

The ‘experts’ say that the first Indo-European people in Anatolia, the Hittites, arrived there in the 3rd millennium BC, about 7,000 years after construction started on the site. I suppose it could have been reptilian space aliens who built it, there’s as much evidence of that as there is of blue-eyed blonde haired Caucasians, in any case the site has squat to do with Europeans.

You – as well as me and any of the “experts” opining on the subject of GT have no idea who built the thing…. you even admit as much in an earlier post.

The only reason we do have it to examine is because whoever built it, buried it. On purpose. To preserve it.

Personally, I think “experts” to be full of crap once you get past a certain point… the best they can do is a wild ass guess – same as me. Your space aliens snark aside, I think many human civilizations have risen and fallen over the millennia, going back a helluva lot farther than any of the ‘experts’ think they know… after all, the ‘experts’ were so sure of themselves with “civilization” first arising in the Fertile Crescent… then GT was discovered and blew that out of the water, shoving the ‘experts’ estimates thousands of years backwards…

Can’t wait till the “next” GT is discovered…. and I hope it makes the “experts” look stupid…

By the way, you know that GT was “discovered” twice, right?

That video I was watching, the guy said that the Brits sent someone to check it out back in the 60’s or 70’s.. took one look at what was there, realized what it implied, buried it and went home… 25+ years later, the Herms show up… guess the world wasn’t ready for it back then…

Clammy and Billy put up a hell of a fight despite the onslaught and seem to grow from the experience. The Assclown triplets remain assclowns 24/7 “in my opinion”. Admin allows everyone to post here and let their freak flag fly. I’m good with that. My only respite from the morons is to skip it and give the occasional noob the lay of the land when they start arguing with idiots. Most of the time others beat me to the noobs.

This place is too special to lose to the morons the way we’ve lost our country to them. Fuck that! Think about how stupid it is for EAC, bb and BW to continue to attempt to “insult me” when I’ve stopped reading their posts including those in this thread. Do you suppose they still write letters to Santa asking for Christmas presents?

Maggie has recently discovered the special level of stupid possessed by bb. The only power the local morons have over us is when we give them legitimacy by reading their shit. That was my fault and I got tired of it so I stopped.

IS – you are a very special friend to TBP.

I wholeheartedly agree with 2 of your 3 assclowns. They are proving to enjoy being the village idiots. Unreal.

I disagree re EC, but wish he would lay off the crap he points at you. I do not understand it. He seriously is underestimating your value around here.

The problem is you guys think you are smart with your Damn nonsense .Most of the ideologies and world views that you profess to believe are lies. Take Stucky , he has rejected everything he once believed in .Apostasy is a sin in which there is no forgiveness but yet he thinks blaspheming the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD is ok.He now mocks what he once held dear. Now apparently he wants others to do the same. He can curse me ,tell me to die but I will continue to remind others what he is and what he has done to himself. To me intentionally sabotaging the faith of other people is as low as it gets. Being an apostate is the stupidest thing a person could ever do.

Lipoh , Maybe you’re the Damn ass clown. Maybe your a fucking liar to. Its ok with you to mock my faith but I’m supposed to worship your ass because people tell me to.?You have proven nothing to me except you have no firm convictions. If you’re so smart why do you waste your time on this site ?

IS ,is a weak little child. When he doesn’t get his way he moans like a wounded animal. Then says I’m not going to read bb any more.I say big fucking deal.
The biggest ass clowns of all are men who think they are smart but in my eyes you are fools. Grown-up children with no firm convictions or beliefs. Only thing you know is you hate God and that’s about as fucking stupid as it gets.

@IS… and am no longer going to make any snap judgments just because of a few hateful comments toward me. I’ve got pretty tough skin and a few words really won’t do me much harm, though some of the venom that comes out around here over really inconsequential issues is rather sensational to watch… I watched an attack on poor TE the other day that made no sense at all… I can only assume there is “history” of which I am unaware and uninterested.

I had to sever a tie with some people in my life who were using me up due to my good nature. One day, I literally looked into the eyes of the “ringleader” and said, “Tell the others that this is it. I am done. I mean it. I. Am. Done.”

And the ringleader looked at me confused because I’d taken that crap most of my life. I heard nothing for weeks, then an onslaught of phone calls and emails and finally, letters, all of which, it turned out were easy to ignore, block and throw away, unread.

When the final approach to my locked gate at Narnia occurred, let loose the giant dogs and a couple of fired rounds from inside the woods to emphasize the meaning of “DONE.”

Users and Haters do not like it when they are ignored. But it has to be done. Because they won’t take a hint.

1. Yew only spend like an hour commenting here per day. Try ter make it st least 4.

2. Stop bein a beaner for whom English is a second language. Yer syntax can be awful choppy at times, and I caint help but imagine Cheech sitinthere in a thong bangin away at a circa 1995 computer.

” I-S and Stucky do a lot of damage to malleable minds when they speak shit about the Christian faith …..” —– El Coyote

Wow, I didn’t realize I had that kind of POWER … to damage minds. Awesome. Let me think how that’s possible.

— I guess that’s because the “malleable” minds here can’t think for themselves.

— My writing is so damn powerful that people become instantly mesmerized, drop what they’re doing, and like The Pied Piper follow me to hell — which is where I am going, right?

— My “speaking shit” — even though I believe in a Higher Power, perhaps even a Creator — actually means I-don’t-see-things-exactly-as-ElCoyote-does …. therefore, it is shit

— apparently, hundreds of believers here have renounced their faith because of me ….. and even more, perhaps thousands, who might have become Believers are — again, because of me — now following the Prince of Darkness.

Is that about right?

Good thing this site has YOU. You, who have written so eloquently and prodigiously about the Christian faith, what various passages mean, historical analysis, contextual exegesis, how new archeological findings relate to previously held beliefs … and so forth. You’re the bestest defender of the faith since St. Augustine.

I owe you a HUGE apology. You were right THE WHOLE TIME about at least our Dual Ass Clowns … bb and El Coyote.

(I don’t YET consider BW an ass clown. He is just like the Irak personna … stirring shit just for the helluvit AND to just irritate as many as he can. I’m learning, pal …. meaning, I pretty much skip right over his stuff.)

Funny as hell — now that I look back — at how valiantly Llpoh and I tried to get you and Mr. Butt Hurt to make peace. You rejected it. It was the correct response. Even funnier is that Mr Butt Hurt ABSOLUTELY said that he would take our words into consideration, and that we would see the results in the future. Now he denies it completely. Never trust a Beaner.

Other blog platforms have an option to click on a user name and hit “ignore” — and you never see that person’s posts again. Lawdy, Lawdy how I do WISH we had that option here.

“Will you continue to give me the silent treatment? Big loss.” ———- El Butt Hurt

Yup, the “silent treatment” sounds about right. I have supported you often and vigorously. I have complimented you on NUMEROUS occasions. In return I get a ‘fuck you … don’t respond’ and an accusation of corrupting minds. Back-stabbing taco-munching piece of shit.

IF you’re so inclined to review your asinine statements, and perhaps regret it, and perhaps extend an olive branch, well … DON’T BOTHER!!! Neither will one be forthcoming from me, ever, I swear it on my son’s life. Been down that road TOO MANY times with you. It’s no longer worth it. Go fuck yourself, really.

Big Loss? Hardly! Big time saver, actually. I won’t have to slog through your posts 2 or 3 times trying to understand your cryptic writing and terrible grammar.

In closing, Blow Me.

Lipoh , is some over rated half injun who made a little bit of money. Maybe the reason some people on this site think he is smart is because their so fucking stupid. Stuck, There was nothing for us to make peace about because there was no big falling out. I just decided to ignore everything he posted and it seems the little cherub’s ego cannot handle that shit. His happiness DEPENDS on me reading and being annoyed by him so I quit. Like Maggie said, “Users and Haters do not like it when they are ignored. But it has to be done.”

I don’t HATE any of them. I’ll admit that EAC is not as bad as the other two like llpoh said but I’m just done with them. Why that causes them to be butthurt is beyond me. There just aren’t enough minutes left in my life to waste on them. It’s like giving up watching the MSM, Google or fast food. It just makes MY life better. I cannot fathom how their life is made better by posting comments about me, good or bad.

You certainly don’t owe me ANY apology Stuck. It’s never wrong to try as you and llpoh did, there just wasn’t anything to “fix”. I just remembered that my happiness comes from within. It can be affected by outside influences but only if I let it.

I’m off to make a donation to a Boise museum and then start packing shit up to head towards home. I’m taking a new route home that involves six hours of dirt road driving in the Sawtooth Range. This is the kind of scenery that will make admin and Avalon want to stay in CO!

Wow, just wow.

@Maggie, sorry you got attacked – I didn’t see it – but then the best part is the attack you mention on me that I totally missed! Ha, more benefits of keeping busy and having more to do than time to do them!

If it was from some of my normal detractors, I’m sure I didn’t miss much.

There are many that believe more in the written words, changed and assembled/disassembled over millennia, than the ultimate message delivered by our Savior by word of mouth.

God is love, anyone that believes gets in, not man’s place to judge or control other men.

This is the message the God Brigade, whom I see has a future Saint amongst them (nice call @bb, comparing yourself to a saint) hates to hear.

They are all about the Judeo part of the bible, even though Jesus is quoted, by numerous sources, as saying we are to leave that all behind.

Yet they cling, and they cling to the parts of the NT written under duress, or edit, of the controlling Roman, and Jewish, rulers and oppressors. If Paul wrote it, even if Paul was being tortured at that time, we MUST believe it! What a narrow view of history and reality these types hold.

They believe in the surviving (and heavily edited) words above all. I’ve of a mind God might see that as blasphemous, but it is not my place to judge them nor decide what God thinks, or feels, or wants.

It IS, evidently, their place to judge ME. As they do it over and over and over again.

So funny, as their words flow and their hate and anger builds, and their condemnations grow ever darker, instead of feeling a return of anger, or fear of my mortal soul, I feel nothing but pity. Pity that they are wasting their only physical beings’ lives living in hatred and judgement and patriotic fervor in direct opposition to what the words in the same book tell me.

ps, it is funny that both bb and EC seem to think Stucky and I_S are “leading people away” from their belief system. People EXACTLY like the judgmental, constantly damning, blaming all on God, or His wrath, while hypocritically sinning and harming others, all the time, are what drove me away three decades ago, and kept me away for the vast majority of my life.

I’ve only recently returned to a belief in God and His Son, and it is deeper, and more true, and more pure, and brought me more peace and positivity and joy than I could ever imagine.

And in LARGE part, oh so large a part, it is due to Stucky and his knowledge of history and scripture.

Meanwhile, the constant hatred and venom and intentional ignorance spewed by the “defenders” of the Christian faith, like Pat “Kill ’em all” Robertson, bb and EC, continues to turn away more souls than ever before.

Instead of accepting this fact – and look at the numbers of ‘murkins playing your terror filled, hell-fire and damnation games every Sunday – and looking to their Lord for truth and answers, they double down!

Exactly like every failed government program EVER!

Maybe because the church and the government have used each other to gain wealth, power and existence for hundreds and thousands of years. See? God told us to shun man’s power over man.

Hugs Stuck, loving’ the fight!

ps, the gun insurance thing, yep, easily disguised and “reasonable” way to get every legitimate gun owner to cough up proof of ownership, serial numbers and possession facts to the government without the government doing a damned thing to get you to do it.

If you don’t register, er insure, yeah, insure, this is NOT a registration it is being done by the “independent” insurance companies, and use your gun to defend your property, my guess is that in and of itself will be your felony, probably even make the death of the invader a now-first degree homicide. Exactly like we allowed with our drinking and driving laws.

Oh the freaking BEAUTY of it all.

I bet the “majority” of gun owners will scream and yell and shout down those whom oppose this bullshit as “conspiracy nuts” and “people that don’t want to pay for accidental shootings,” or “people that WANT suffering of children and families,” or, my personal favorite, “if you aren’t doing anything illegal with your gun, you got nothing to worry about!”

Just like the drug laws, the drinking laws, the prostitution laws, the confiscation laws, just like them all.

Word. My name is Martha, but I like Maggie. I call you Legion and I defy you to challenge me.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Thanks Stuck, I feel the same about you Big Guy.

My Lord tells me to love those that hate, turn the other cheek, blah, blah, blah. Right now the best I got is amusement and pity. But amusement and pity is halfway back to love, personal growth makes me happy.

But, I’ll pray/meditate for the help to live up to His standards. It is as is asked.

Peace to all those that accept it!

Damn TE! That was perfect! My brother and sister-in-law, whom we have been visiting, are devout believers but they can’t even find a church that doesn’t brow beat worshipers for all their faults. Most of their faults have to do with a lack of sufficient tithing which accounts for the majority the sermons the so-called Christian church leaders drone on about on Sundays.

My brother, his wife and an ever growing number of others now get together most Sundays and go on hiking trips or canoe trips where they celebrate their beliefs and faith together, free from the bullshit of organized religion. They post their adventures on facebook and encourage anyone not seeking to control them to join the fun. Imagine that……..fresh air, exercise, companionship and free exercise of their faith in the middle of some of the most beautiful scenery on Earth. And guess what? They all tithe more in the form of private charity helping each other and their acquaintances than they ever did being brow beaten by false “pastors” and “ministers” seeking only to enrich themselves.

Maggie , if you are a Christian then you should be concerned about people who intentionally try to harm other people by attacking their faith. Some people are weak in their beliefs. They haven’t had time to grow strong in their faith. This culture and some on this site are constantly at war with Christianity. Doesn’t change my convictions but these attacks could hurt others.
