U.S. Scientists: No Way to Stop Warming of Oceans

On Thursday, a group of climate scientists working for the U.S. government gave notice that warming temperatures in the oceans are irreversible, regardless of any drastic actions that might be taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The American Meteorological Society’s climate report, which includes four independent data sets, found 2014 to be the hottest year on record, with 90 percent of the heat related to greenhouse gas emissions having been absorbed into the ocean.

In Europe alone, over 20 countries set new heat records. Africa, Asia and Australia registered near-record heat, and California’s water supply hangs in the balance.

The Guardian investigated further:

“I think of it more like a fly wheel or a freight train. It takes a big push to get it going but it is moving now and will continue to move long after we continue to pushing it,” Greg Johnson, an oceanographer at Noaa’s Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory, told a conference call with reporters.

“Even if we were to freeze greenhouse gases at current levels, the sea would actually continue to warm for centuries and millennia, and as they continue to warm and expand the sea levels will continue to rise,” Johnson said.

On the west coast of the US, freakishly warm temperatures in the Pacific – 4 or 5F above normal – were already producing warmer winters, as well as worsening drought conditions by melting the snowpack, he said.

The extra heat in the oceans was also contributing to more intense storms, Tom Karl, director of Noaa’s National Centers for Environmental Information, said.

“…group of climate scientists working for the U.S. government ,…” – HA, HA, HA; Paris coming up for the big Pig Fest – gotta get these scare stories out to the fucking stupid public. Trust me, I’m from the gov’t and I’m here to help. “Working for the Gov’t” – too rich !!!

This article didn’t tell you that their conclusions came from the Adjusted and Homogenized land station data. The latest horror came from the Karl et. al. study, that butchered the Argo Buoy data.

“The American Meteorological Society’s climate report, which includes four independent data sets,”
Independent ???? – they all get the data from the same place, which is the butchered data source NCDC.

I’m waiting for a ‘study’ that AGW causes Erectile Dysfunction – why not, everything is caused by AGW.

Satellite data from RSS and UAH show no warming for 18 years, 6 months.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a crock a shit. It’s the fuckin’ EL NINO! Happens every few years since time freekin began!

What snowpack? there’s been a 5 year drought there.(again cyclic).

The El Nino will bring lots of rain this winter we hope.

These guys are desperate. Gotta keep those grants comin’.

I do not like this map.

It puts most of East Texas, where I live, underwater!!!

It will also put under water most of the rural South, thus removing forever the breeding & nesting grounds of the American Redneck. The horror! The horror!!!

WE MUST SAVE THE AMERICAN REDNECKS AT ANY COST!! NO MORE AGW!!!!!

CLOSE EVERY POWER PLANT, SHUT OFF ALL INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES, NO MORE CAMPFIRES!!!!

Wait. No more campfires = no more S’mores!!!!! The horror!! The horror!!!!

What’s a morally conflicted activist gonna do?

I figure this winter will be a snowy one. Here in AZ we have had a good amount of rain with this years monsoon season. I have put out my idea on cooling the earth before. If you remember when that volcano went off in the Philippines and the earth was cooler afterwards.Heck just use our military to make a few volcanos go off! Nice cloud of ash covering the earth and bam! Cooling. Actually i am more worried about a coming cooling period that would do damage to growing food.
The coming collapse will take folks minds off this weather crap.

Well hell, time to party like it’s 1999!

The most important ten words in that sentence: “a group of climate scientists working for the U.S. government”.

Any questions?

Just today the annual Farmers Almanac prediction for the coming winter was released. Take a guess which way it will go?

If you guessed harsh cold snowy weather, you would be right. BostonBob would pop a cork at the prospect of another winter like the one he had this past winter. He may be out in the front yard doing the global warming dance to the weather gods.

Yeah I saw that on Drudge Report yesterday. Here in the PNW we had a very warm, dry winter and spring. About 1/3 of my garlic crop did not form cloves. This causes “ball garlic”. I don’t think we had a single day below zero.

I would love to have a winter like Boston Bob had but that, plus 10-12 hours work days would get old quick.

I attended an “event” here in Socal today where you can actually get up to a $9,500 voucher against a purchase of a new or newer energy-efficient car, sponsored by South Coast air quality management with $4.5 million or so in the fund.. It was held at the Carmax in Duarte. Sure, I’ll take their money.
That’s what’s being done here to help with AGW.
Did I mention it hit 119 here today in the Inland Empire? And my air was out all day yesterday when it hit 117. Imagine it being 91 inside with no relief except fans!

9500 hundred dollar voucher for a car.
Great westcoaster.
How about a free buspass instead, or do liberals not do public transport. Rather get .gov largess from the tax payers for a fucking prius. Why arent you dead from holding your breath yet?
Dont want to go polluting from breathing out co2 now. Dummy.
