I noticed that earlier today and thought to myself that Google’s Veteran’s Day graphic is a crock of shit.
What’s worst of all is that the graphic was probably designed by a group of self-hating white liberals.
Most visual input goes right past the viewers critical thinking and enters their mind at a level they are unaware of.
Which is why this sort of thing is done.
And why printed news is more thought provoking in terms of the information it presents and a critical analysis of it than the video information in video news sources.

I’m avoiding google as much as I can these days – and have been for years. Unfortunately they still have the best map and search engine, but for most searches I find what I want with duckduckgo just as easily. I do wish someone else would come out with a useful map. I’ve tried Mapquest and Bing Map and both suck, even compared to google’s constantly WORSENED map site.

As a white veteran, I do not partake in any veterans day nonsense, did not go anywhere to get a free meal(cooked my own lunch, and I am cooking me and my wife dinner tonight) and I do not want nor care for any kind of “thank you for your service” kind of things. It was a job I did, a pretty safe one( don’t ever see “the military”, or police for that matter, in the top 10 most dangerous jobs…), that I was paid for. Its not like anyone does that out of altruism. I only point that out to be clear about my opinions of “veterans day”.
All that shit aside, I looked at that picture on my computer today and was taken aback by the very same thing. I see one white guy, all the way in the back. White males are the backbone of the military. They are doing their damnedest to make it another government run affirmative action organization, but they aren’t there yet. There may be a bunch of women and minorities in there, but nearly ALL of the hard jobs, both physically and mentally demanding, are done by white men. Thats a fact that can be easily verified by anyone in any branch of the service, from the marines in the ME to your closest local coast guard station if you happen to live near the ocean. Women and minorities usually do the desk jobs. I have seen good and competent people of both genders and all races, but this picture is bullshit.

The modern US military is neutered, on purpose. Us hateful old white guys never did stop to think that we were only serving to promote our white privileges. Personally, I got sick of responding to the “Thank you for your service” comments on my FB page today and exited stage left. Good grief, I was in ten years, flew around in an AWACS plan and saw the world, then got the GI Bill to go to college.
Every veteran like me who “served” in a position that was more than likely to result with zero injuries in the first place, then took the taxpayer to town on the way out (the “four” years the GI Bill will pay was actually “six” because they are four full years, not 8 semesters. So, I ended up going through the Masters program and getting paid for it!) should be wearing this message on Veterans Day: Thanks for supporting my early adulthood, career goals and early retirement with your tax dollars.
