You wonder if you could save the tax prep fee by just agreeing to hand over 8 grand to them next year. At least that way, you might get a kiss.

Starfuck, it’s all an illegals issue to you, isn’t it? You could use an enema.

That chant was popular when the crowd was cheering on the former Mexican boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez as he fought for survival.

It translates as – yes, it’s possible or yes it can be (done).
Your candidate, Obama appropriated it for his campaign, rendering it as, yes we can.

In the end, when Julio was flagging, the chant turned into, ‘no se puede’. Mexican fans are unforgiving.

EC, not at all. I was simply pointing out the earned income tax credit was a creation of the Clinton administration. I watched all my hardworking and loyal Latin family men employees get punked by their wives when the 600 bucks they brought home working for me didn’t get them any respect anymore. Their old ladies got more than that sitting home watching soap operas.

I don’t think “back” means what they think it means.

Starfuck, it was Carter who suggested giving poor people a base income, something like $10,000 free from the government. They found a way to do it with the EIC and child credits.

It’s a bad human trait to take freebies and seek to get more freebies. People always want more good stuff and less bad stuff.

I think Trump is trying to dial back the freebies. That’s needed to stop discouraging working people. Witness what happened to marriage when free love became socially acceptable. Marriage became nothing more than an economic decision to secure government freebies rather than a commitment to each other and to society.

True. But it’s hard to dial back the welfare state until you restore productive blue collar employment. The good thing, and trump gets this, is that we have used trade policy, regulation, tax policy, labor laws and data metrics to drive business overseas, or kill it off. It will be just as easy to use those things to restore a productive economy. Then you won’t need the welfare state to be as expansive. Good post, EC

You should have seen my comment on the dying new deal. A little on the gonzo side but sometimes an absurd explanation does a better job of illustrating an absurd situation.

Star – blue collar work is history. It is not coming back. Sorry.

starfucker: “The good thing, and Trump gets this, is that we have used trade policy, regulation, tax policy, labor laws and data metrics to drive business overseas, or kill it off. It will be just as easy to use those things to restore a productive economy. ”

Rather than use those tools and tactics “to restore a productive economy,” might it not be enough to STOP using them at all – and kill them solidly dead so that future National Socialist presidential administrations and congresses can’t resurrect those horrors without eviscerating themselves – to allow the private sector to adapt, improvise, and overcome?

It’s not so much that these invidious Malevolent Jobholder policies and practices are debilitating in themselves but that the politicians and the bureaucrats KEEP RATCHETING THIS SHIT UP, overtaking businesses’ capacities to survive the damages AND making it impossible for those who do survive to undertake long-range planning. Fucks capital investment all to hellangone, as witnessed readily by all the factories, strip malls, and other long-term investment activities lying fallow or abandoned to prove that the republic hasn’t really undergone “recovery” to any significant extent since before the Nixon Administration.

Llpoh, we’ll see what the future holds. I hate arguing this stuff with you, not because I hate arguing, but because it’s getting ready to play out, right before our eyes. I try not to predict too much, “just because you know the big things, never believe you know all the small things”. Looks like big change coming, starts monday. We’ll have some fun the next couple of years watching it play out.

As a case in point, I am a very productive individual. You think that I am using my savings to build a business in this country? Hell no. I am building businesses in other countries. It’s very difficult to do business here. The main reason I stay is that my kids are here. I am a US citizen btw.

P.S. F… the moneychangers.

The Earned Income Credit is nothing more than a shadow welfare program. My CPA has this horrid look when you bring up the EIC, then I join in to match his “look”. The EIC has nothing to do with race as whites are most likely the largest percentage of recipients so Starfcker needs to rethink his opinion.

Bea, I think Starfuck said the gov freebies have emasculated working men as they provide women a bigger source of money.

Women just need some dick to punch their meal ticket via the WIC, Section-8, AFDC, EBT, child support route.
