“The Others Are Worse Than Hitler” A Middle-American Couple Explain Why They’re Voting For Trump

Tyler Durden's picture

With Super Tuesday upon us, it appears no matter what the establishment throws at Donald Trump, nothing seems to stick and reduce his core support’s enthusiasm. Many on ‘the other side’ are unable to comprehend this support and so Indianapolis residents Jon and Elsa Sands wrote to The FT to explain why they are voting for Trump…

Sir, My wife and I are affluent Americans with postgraduate degrees. We are socially liberal and fiscally mildly conservative. We are not the sans-culottes you see as the prototypical Trump voter. We are well aware of his vulgarity and nous deficiency yet we contemplate voting for him. Why?

Electing the standard-bearer of the Democratic Party seems purposeless. The neanderthal Republicans barely respected the legitimacy of Bill Clinton’s or Barack Obama’s election, let alone that of Hillary who would arrive tainted with scandal and the email lapses hanging over her head. We would get four years of gridlock and “hearings”.

The Republican tribunes, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, are backward, foolish and inexperienced. John Kasich, a moderate with extensive governmental experience and a willingness to compromise, is an also-ran.

That leaves The Donald, really a moderate in wolf’s garb, who would owe nothing to either party and might strike deals, for instance on tax reform.

Yes, we could be like the good citizens who voted for a “tameable” Hitler in 1933 to get things back on track. But the alternatives look worse.

Simply put, as Liberty Blitzkrieg’s Mike Krieger summed up:

Trump is the protest vote against ever-bigger government and the failure of Summers/Keynesian policies

Come November, barring unforeseen major developments and if Obama consents to leave office, you will have a choice between Trump and Hillary.

Which do you think it better?

It will be your choice.

Regardless of preferences displayed in the comments, I want to take this opportunity to express appreciation for all the publications of The Burning Platfform . In Canada we are so poorly served by the mainline press media, and alternative sites like this one?? Don’t know of one. We have CBC radio and TV, where so many citizens dutifully slurp much daily drivel, on that publicly owned and worshipped leftist pretender, which no longer on critical public affairs issues, even makes believe it provides balance. Obviously now fully controlled by the Master Class ideology. A mixtured cocktail of whatever the agenda needs at the time-Obama-Cruz-Rubio-Clinton-Sanders. Whatever. Slant style. But in domestic issues, mostly or completely death on conservatism, even on the fake passing as classic conservatism today..
The privately corporate held media/press ? Not much better, and often worse. Have not bought a newspaper for thirty five years. Television news the same. Seriously PC slanted as necessary. For any coherent subscribes, only find them offshore from Canada. Like this one. Maybe something good is available here. Haven’t found it yet.

I agree with Anon. I won’t be coloring the HNIC gone until January 20, 2017. I’ll believe it when I see it. Imagine Hillary indicted just before the general election and the Donald mysteriously dies around the same time because it appears that he will win in a landslide.. A resulting panic and perhaps an excuse for martial law. Voila, Barry stays in charge until………………………………

Jon and Elsa Sands prove that education does not correlate to intelligence. I find their assessment of Republicans offensive.

@ flash, your picture was priceless.

The rhetoric about DT being crude, rude, vulgar and that he has the
potential to be a merciless dictator is a bunch of nonsense.

The crude, rude, vulgar and merciless dictators are in place now.
“I am really good at killing people” statement by O, illustrates
that. There are countless examples of statements made, and
plans revealed, by the people in power now, that align with
dictatorship and even evil.

The USA is in store for a reset, and some ugly times are ahead.
Trump won’t be able to unravel the entrenched powers. They
are entrenched and flow through the entire global system.

The fact the people are predicting an assassination attempt on
Trump might indicate how badly our system is spoiled/rotten.
The fact that people are saying there is a plot to stage catastrophes
that will permit O to remain in office and continue his reign also
illustrates the mess we are in.

The propaganda machine is in full force…and Trump is a big target.
The worst that they can come up with is that he is rude? I actually don’t
mind rude when rude is compared to murderer.

I love that image. Sums up the Obummer Presidency. Hope has left the room but we are, I believe, in a holding pattern in this crisis. I don’t think Trump is the one that will destroy or save up. He is like the old Prussian in picture below. Forced by old age to give up reins to what will be a truly nasty piece of work.

Time will they but it would be wise to book your flights now.

My pasture has just the right amount of grass and the fence is to keep predators out. I’m voting for the honorable S. Quo.

DS, there’s two directions this can turn, individual freedom or totalitarian police state. There’s no sitting on the fence.

BTW, who is the establishment candidate you’re backing?

I noticed that too . Nous = we. But whatever the french people I know around here would just laugh at someone saying something like that..

That picture is priceless. I love it. I suspect millions are gathered around TV’s fawning over this man. Expecting him to fix all that ails. I think they should focus on the panties instead. It’s what I would do if I was an American.

I was able to figure out the meaning of “sans-culottes”

sans always means ‘without’

And I recalled “culottes” from the 1970s …. remember that? …. a dress/pants combo ….. it was actually BANNED in my high school, along with blue jeans.

So, from the context I figured they meant “without clothes”.

They’re still pretentious cocksuckers.
