I occasionally enjoy watching sports, football (college and professional) more than most by a wide margin. That said, I never enjoy watching the referees. The purpose of the refs is to allow the teams to play and make sure the agreed upon rules are followed. The refs should be as invisible as possible and not determine the outcome of the game. Given cameras and instant replay technology, refs are not as necessary in sports as they used to be, especially in baseball.
My point is, in socialism, the refs take the game away from players or teams and become the participants themselves. Refs don’t do nearly as good a job as the professionals or amateurs because refs were never meant to play the sport on their behalf. Socialism is a travesty. Regardless of how much one team might try to skirt the rules, the refs need the fortitude to enforce the generally agreed upon rules and not take the game away from the participants. I understand it can be easier for the refs (i.e. government) to acquiesce and play the role the market or free individuals should play, but “easy” doesn’t equate to being right. When the government plays that role it ruins the game for players, teams, and spectators alike and destroys the will. It’s a damnable heresy. And it’s what we increasingly have today.

Socialism should be attacked on moral grounds. It is an immoral system of wealth transfer from those who earn it to those who wish to live off the labour of others. Whether you elect a government to rob your neighbor or walk across the street and do it yourself makes no difference. It is still theft and therefore immoral.

when they fail, we can rebuild. Getting to the other side is the tough part….

Meantime, the GOP wants to privatize your social security so that Wall St. can get their giant piece. But corporate cronyism is just fine and dandy with them (including subsidies to oil companies) and Billions to the MIC.
