QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Thy will be done. Say this with your lips as well as you can; and still more perfectly in your heart. There is not a moment in which God does not present Himself in the form of some pain to be endured, some consolation to be enjoyed, or of some duty to be performed. Leave the past to His infinite mercy, the future to His wise Providence, and give the present wholly to His love by being faithful to His grace.”

Jean-Pierre de Caussade, “Abandon à la Providence Divine

Were that I could immerse myself in such thinking.
God is not in control of your life…you are.

“Thy will be done. Say this with your lips ……” ———- article

No, thanks. I am not a robot. Or, a puppet. Or, a slave. If God didn’t feel comfortable with my will being done …. then he wouldn’t have given me free will in the first place.

bb, and the other thumpers to arrive with bible verses in 5…4…3…

Hi Stucky,

While less learned in bible verses than many, I think I get the idea and will it offer it up for your fine reply: When someone prays “thy will be done”, he or she is praying that they will have the strength to follow through with God’s will (that they understand through their connection with the Spirit of God that dwells within us all [well maybe not or not able to be heard for those who have fully and truly rejected God and embraced Lucifer]) using their own free will to do so.

What say you?
