A better experiment would be to give them different tasks to choose from and see if they would choose a harder task over an easier task if the “pay” where the same and again if the harder task was given a larger reward.
But this kind of thing is always slanted toward providing the results wanted to support the intended conclusion.

The monkey on the left given cucumbers represents the Taxpayers and the one on the other left represents the FSA being given the grapes. In November, the Taxpayers are going to throw Jezebel Harpy out the window to the Useful Idiot FSA dogs.

I agree with Anon in that this experiment is implying all work is equal and that some get paid better than other for equal work. This also implies that those that earn more do so as a result of an unfair system.
