“to humbug his humble neighbors was not difficult”
William T Sherman, aka Bedbug Billy, the famous barn burner and all around murderous asshole who waged war on civilians in the late unpleasantness.
He fought as a Confederate General in the civil war. A war that took more American lives than any other war in our history. He fought hard, dirty and did what he thought he needed to do to win. He eventually didn’t.
That has nothing to do with his words of wisdom.

“He fought as a Confederate General in the civil war”
He was a bluebelly. He never fought at all, just commanded his rabble to loot, rape and murder. The war he was in was not a civil war.
You watch too much TV. Read some history.
“That has nothing to do with his words of wisdom.”
What wisdom? Fucker never had a thought in his head but to burn, rob, and slaughter women and children. He’s a memory. Forget him. Fuck him, too.
@all: Again, sorry, my mind went one way and my fingers went the other. He was Union and a soldier. He took an Army and tore ass from burning down Atlanta to the sea. Burning farms, killing anyone who shot him or resisted.
Would anyone like to elucidate me on any war that was won by fighting in a politically correct manner??

Please note: I am quoting him, not trying to make a history lesson out of it….. But thanks for the factual correction, I always appreciate that.
