Maybe people making gun regulations should at least be required to fire one before they write the laws, at least we’d be sure they know which end the bullet comes out of that way.

Gun safety, who could possibly be against that? I could easily imagine some legislator that knows nothing about guns trying to decide to vote for or against a gun safety law, of course if they know nothing about guns they’re going to vote in favor of gun safety.
California already has a gun safety law, but if I were to name it I would call it the gun elimination law.
Here’s how I learned of California’s gun safety law and how it affected me. I came across an article about a gun that sounded interesting and did some research checking specifications and reviews and such and then went down to a local gun shop to see if I could have a look at one. When I get to the gun store I’m told that particular gun can’t be sold or brought into California because it hasn’t passed California safety testing. What I was told is that California’s safety law requires all new gun models be tested against certain safety standards, standards that are impossible to be met and the cost to go through the testing is so prohibitive such that no gun manufactures bother to submit to the testing.
So the gun that I was interested in might actually have additional features that improve gun safety such as the loaded round indicator but because it hasn’t been approved by the state I can’t buy one.
Right now if you look at the list of guns that cannot be sold in California, because they haven’t passed “Safety testing”, that list is a mile long.
Safety testing is just one angle, just one of the many steps to deny access to guns.
It has nothing to do with Safety!!!!!!!

The Norwegians prior to WWII were big on gun registration. The Nazis came in and went to the record hall and found out who had them and what they had and went out and collected them.
