Stucky QOTD: Do Do DO Do Do …. what, exactly?

Today’s question comes by way of Robert Gore’s article HERE   where he takes us on a whirlwind tour starting with King George and ends with Obamacare (and a delicious American Smorgasbord of shit sandwiches in-between) … while discussing how the The Evil Witch of Kankles escaped prosecution, and eventually asks the question;

“TOUGH SHIT WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?”

That’s all I want to know. What are you DOING? Why?  Because I’ve run out of ideas. Maybe someone here can inspire me.

But, many of you can’t follow instructions.  The key work is DO. Look it up if you must.

—If you just want to complain, bitch, or moan about shit, then kindly just STFU.  Plenty of other posts for that fun activity.

— That also applies to you Preppers. Spare us the stories and endless lists of shit ya got.  If prepping was doing then they would call you Doers, but it’s not and, so, you are called Preppers, not Doers. Got it?  Soooo, Hillery escapes scot-free and you go out and buy another box of ammo or can another ten jars of rabbit asses in pickle juice — c’mon, really, what the fuck does that have with DOING anything about Hillcunt?

— “I ain’t doin’ nothing” is a perfectly good answer.  First, it shows your honesty. Second, you’re in good company with about 98.4% of all other ‘Murikans.

Here’s an example of Do:  Llpoh DID something. He MOVED away from this almost God-forsaken country.  Moving = doing. See?

=========================================

Me?

I said to Ms Freud yesterday — “I don’t want to be part of this system anymore.”  It’s not the first time I’ve said it. Opting out. Minimalist living. A total ‘fuck you’ to consumerism. Hermit. A leave-me-the-fuck-alone lifestyle. That kind of idea … she knows what I mean.

I’m talking about possibly this. I’ve had the picture below as my windows screensaver for about a year now.

It’s doable … for me.  My two kids are grown and really don’t need me. My parents’ days are numbered.  No one depends on me for jack-shit. It’s lovely. So, why not?

Most people can’t, I suppose.  Janis said “freedom’s just another word with nothing left to lose”.  That’s why I believe most people, if they are honest, will answer today’s question thusly — “Nothing.”  You’re not free enough. You have responsibilities. Raising kids. Getting ahead at work. Paying taxes. Saving for a vacation, or a car, or old age, or a hundred other necessities of life.  You have to much to lose.  You better leave the revolution to someone else. Right?

I’m fortunate enough to have lost almost everything I’ve ever owned … twice! It’s exhilarating! lol So, a small tiny cabin in the woods would seem like a Palace to me.

Of course, I haven’t pulled the trigger on that.

Yet.

Again, what are you DOING?

Nothing. You described me up there. Ill complain about it. I have two small children, a family to look out for. Doing nothing but bitching on places like TBP is the extent of it now. Call me whatever you want, but thats all im in a position to do. If I had the means to buy a big piece of property somewhere that I can be self sufficient and just leave it all behind I probably would. But I don’t have that ability, so i just work towards getting to that point, which exists at some interminable point in the future, so I hope.

I have had a conversation with my wife similar to the one you described with yours, on numerous occasions. We both feel the same way. Our goal is to be able to disengage from this clownshow at some point, but we aren’t there yet. We do what we can to avoid feeding the beast.

Thought about putting your children through private instead of public school?

That’s something that is both doable and effective for anyone with children.

The most effective things are not the most dramatic things, usually the opposite.

That is also keeping with the “disengaging” thing, and maybe the most important part of it.

I’m sure there are many who think this is doing nothing, but I pray. I’ve been praying alot. I pray over my family, my neighborhood and over our nation and the world. I pray continously. I know not what else I can do that will have more effect than prayer.

So the solution is to run and hide? No, it’s not.

Join local groups of ‘concerned citizens’. Train with them and then train some more. Keep voting until that is no longer an option. Just be ready.

This is exactly why minutes before the FBI dude gave Hill the wink and the nod (which I knew was coming) I asked the Trumpeteers, do you have a plan B? To be very clear…….what will you do about this. This being Hitlery is the selected one. They are clueless and will continue to circle the bowl for the big flush.

Stucky – you axed for ideas, why not do something about the opening of the fifth dimension with the (CERN) Hadron Collider. Lucifer is to use the dark matter to recreate God’s creation and Christians will be removed to another place which works right into biblical teaching. That time is soon. There’s always something you can do, it doesn’t have to be the thing they expect or want you to do either. Every decent thing you do screws up every crappy thing some other person does, so there’s always that.

Of course if you get bored of fishing and swimming and hiking, you can always drive over to Hardscrabble’s and work in his garden.

Of course that is just my getaway, can’t do that full time. Kids, school, house etc. So what am i really doing?
Selling house at top of market to get out of this mortgage (in the works), renting house for cheaper than mortgage down a class 6 dirt road on 50 acres (in the works), buying a property somewhere(??) in 4 or 5 years when kid is out of school with 401K money so i don’t have to take a 10% hit (if they haven’t bailed-in some govt. or bank with it) for a steal of a price after the next housing crash. Pay off all debt and buy precious metals with proceeds from sale. Keep money out of big banks.

My doomstead is top drawer with real hardwood floors, handmade cherry cabinets (made from solid cherry by the Amish) granite and stainless appliances. You can make a doomstead as fancy as you would like or keep it simple. Heck we even have two complete heat pump systems as it is three stories to heat and cool.

Tell the missus we live just as well and comfy in the country, she would be very surprised. Who needs the urban headaches in their older years AND it is cheaper to live in the country. Water bill at my suburb home $90 per month, at the doomstead $13 per month no matter how much water we use. FAGETTABAHTIT!!

I don’t think Admin has my email. That cabin is small but well made from the photos and in an area surrounded by Amish which is important. The reason I pegged it for Stuck is it looks a lot like a cabin picture he posted. You would be surprised how nice KY truly is and that area is quiet except for gunfire of folks target shooting and hunting. Also near a large lake. You could probably offer 100k and get it if the seller needs the money bad enough.

I told my buddy after the press conf that this really changed nothing for me, only intensified my focus. We had already set a plan for training time at the range thurs, my gear is set and our drills are laid out. Buying ammo and having a gun is only step one people, training and drilling skills are required for proficiency.

Monday I start BJJ (addressing a weakness). Im working to become stronger and more antifragile than ive ever been in my life. over the last 6-12 months Ive become more disciplined and experienced more clarity while also being more thankful for the good i have while also expelling waste (activites as well as people) so in a way i am partially unplugging.

Am i doing anything? No and yes. I have a family that depends on me, a day job, motgage etc so im not volunterring to be on the front lines of the revolution. But we all have those red lines that we wont allow crossed while we still have a breath. I know my red lines so Im simply trying to make myself harder to kill if/when it comes to that.

Wow! Harry P. I feel like I just read a comment posted by myself. However, I think I may be a few years ahead of you.

And, I think it’s great you are starting BJJ on Monday. I’ve been training for awhile now, and let me tell you something, it will change your life. If I may be so bold, I would like to give you some advice
1. Find a MMA gym, because stricking is important to. I focus mostly on BJJ, but I also train Muay Thai.
2. Hang in there physically, I don’t know how old you are, but if you are 30+ the first couple of months are going to be brutal on your body.
3. Hang in there mentally, it’s going to take anywhere from 5 to 8 months for things to start clicking. Your number one goal is to survive.
4. And this is probably the most important, and it kind of reflects number 3, but you have to leave your EGO at home. You are going to be getting your ass kicked on a regular basis by someone half your size and most likely a girl

But, like I said, hang in there. There is nothing like it when some beffed up 20 year old kid comes in for his first day, and you smash the shit out of him in less then a minute.

Happy training

Mathman,
Thank you for the encouraging words.
-I’m in my mid-30s (better late than never)
-I know I know nothing, consider ego checked.
-The gym I decided on is just that. Agreed on learning how to strike, not just how to roll. Mon is no-Gi BJJ and Thurs are -Muay Thai (im starting with BJJ). There are also offerings for wrestling and boxing.

My hope is that its life-changing, unarmed self defense is something lacking in my toolbox and that needs to change in my life.

thanks again

HP, a few more things. Find someone to train with, about your skill set. Try and convince a buddy to join. Practice on each other, trade tap outs, work your moves, that kind of thing. You will progress a lot faster. Then get in there with the high level guys, and just survive. Consider lasting for 5 minutes without getting tapped as a huge victory. Make them teach you something, at my gym they are not allowed to move up unless they become instructors themselves. Practice your moves and drills mentally, again, you will progress faster that way. Also, I stay away from the juggernauts, no sence in getting hurt.

I hope you don’t mind all this info, I’m just a huge fan of BJJ. And selfdefence in general. And I’m also happy to see a fellow TBPer doing the same thing. We all need these skills, and believe me, if you stick with it. It will change your life, that I can guarantee.

Harry, get yourself a heavy bag and some bag gloves, and hang it in your garage. Go out there and peck on it whenever you’re in the mood. It will be hell on your forearms, but that will pass. After a while you will really start moving it around, and then you will know you are striking with force, and that’s the best self defense skill of all.

Very similar conversation at my kitchen table today. You can’t count on enough people to do a sick-out that anybody would notice–everybody needs the money too bad to miss a day. It is nearly too daunting to move, and with no guarantee the next place is better than the last…well, maybe when my kids are grown? And impossible to count on enough people for a tax strike. Maybe go Amish…except for their faulty view of the Atonement…

Being patient. Letting things play out. There will be a time to stand side-by-side with folks that want a better country for our children and grandchildren. In my opinion, this isn’t quite the time yet. The upper-middle class is still not feeling enough pain. The upper-middle needs to be involved because they can provide the organization required to plan, implement and sustain the resistance that will be required to root out the corruption.

Gone West – that time to stand side-by-stand has long past been missed. The immigrant and welfare scum has bred at the expense of the working American. The Chip and Antichrist will come – God said so – so it aint gonna get better – it is gonna get much worse- the children and grandchildren are state property – so by not having I am going Galt big time – am going to suffocate the system – then you have welfare class and immigrants and politico-bankster-lawyers turning to cannibalism when the best seed corn has been fed to the hogs. As the bible says – do not cast pearls to swine – and do not store treasures on earth (which of course is anything you treasure). The inhabitants of the world will be like caged rats when the cage is immersed in water, tearing at each other to get to the air. Welfare Zombies against Federal agents – now that wil be fun to watch from the clouds.

As Admin has noted repeatedly, there’s nothing we can do to turn things around: We have to work through a crisis before we can build a better life on the other side. So the only proper actions at this point are preparing to survive the crisis, and facilitating a good crisis.

I don’t know what any of us can do to “seed” a crisis and get it going before it’s ready – to paraphrase the old Paul Masson commercial, we will serve no crisis before its time. But I am doing something to make sure it’s a productive crisis – specifically, working on a project to make sure the unwashed masses target their anger appropriately. It’s halfway done now – when it’s ready I was planning to share it here and see if it has any value before pushing it out further. Stay tuned.

Consent is given and freely given and can be freely withdrawn. Do you give your consent when you accept Caesar’s freebees? Some say Yes. However…Consent isn’t something written in stone, what do you think voting and changing your preferences is all about?

Remember, Jesus, was a criminal. You’re in good company. What would you have Jesus do? Submit to Caesar knowing it was an injustice. Satan offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if he just change a stone into bread. How much more of an offer was that than what Caesar had to offer? He didn’t refuse the offer He refused the temptation.

Opting out.

Removed nearly all of our 401kshit a couple of years ago. Having opted out of banks, the 401kshit remains are sitting in credit union savings account.

Opted out of the car culture. We don’t have one. We walk or ride the Big Red Bus.

Opted out of the cell phone myopia. Our only phone is attached to the wall at home.

Perhaps next year we will opt out of living in the US altogether. We will return to south America this winter for one more exploratory trip before we begin to gather all the necessary documents to emigrate to latin America, likely in 2017.

What more do you want Stuck? We are old people, this is all very difficult.

Nobody at the age of 60+ wants to go through all of this kind crazy upending. Wish us luck, at least we are still alive. I could send you a list of people I know of our very same age who are no longer among the living. We’re trying, we’re hanging in there.

Wife and I traveled to different places in Latin America a few years back looking for a “good enough” country to possibly relocate. Although there may be individual places within a country that are acceptable, we were not impressed with any of the countries. What have you found?

I looked into Ecuador because they have an enclave of ex-pat Americans in the Quenca area–cooler climate and abundant food resources. Ecuador uses the US Dollar as currency, however, and I believe I read they are considering an all-digital currency. Recently I’ve switched to researching North Carolina or southern Virginia blue ridge mountains area. I’m a few years out from retiring, however.

What can one little guy do? BE A TRIM TAB!
Attributions to The Daily Sheeple

“Something hit me very hard once, thinking about what one little man could do. Think of the Queen Mary — the whole ship goes by and then comes the rudder. And there’s a tiny thing at the edge of the rudder called a trimtab. It’s a miniature rudder. Just moving the little trim tab builds a low pressure that pulls the rudder around. Takes almost no effort at all. S o I said that the little individual can be a trimtab. Society thinks it’s going right by you, that it’s left you altogether. But if you’re doing dynamic things mentally, the fact is that you can just put your foot out like that and the whole big ship of state is going to go. So I said, call me Trimtab.” – R. Buckminster Fuller

Each of us can wage a daily war against central banks and gubmint:
Stay out of debt
Ignore corporate marketing, propaganda, promotions, gimmicks and sponsors
Avoid consumer products, lifestyle options & services critical to the fabrication of self-identity
Buy used stuff, construct, fix and re-use stuff
Always pay cash whenever you can, or barter goods & services
Keep no more than one credit card with low credit limit and pay off monthly
Abandon big banks, keep minimal cash in a credit union, or use cryptocurrencies
Divest from the manipulated stock markets and Ponzi scheme bond markets
Invest/store wealth in gold, silver, land and private businesses
Ignore, refuse, resist, condemn and starve the government beast, give and take nothing
Store non-perishable food, supplies, tools, keep a seed bank, buy a gravity water purifier
Stockpile rifles, pistols, shotguns & ammo, bear everywhere lawful and defend life & property
Get educated on political & economic systems and history (watch “Overview of America”)
Abstain or refuse to vote for politicians from the one ruling (elephantjackass) political party, advocate state secession
Forcefully repudiate politically corrupt thought police and their social engineering
Spread the word, be a trim tab!

I disagree with Stucky’s premise that prepping isn’t doing anything. It is doing something, more than probably 90% of everyone else. To what degree that will help depends entirely on the SHTF scenario you end up facing and where you are when it happens (city, suburbs, or out in the sticks).

Other than that, it’s hard to be preemptive w/regard to the system we are dealing with. Agree with those advocating extricating from said system wherever you can.

But I concur with your cabin in the woods idea. It’s exactly what I’m looking towards in the next few years, if circumstances allow. Probably not totally off-grid but self-sustaining as far as water and sewage (private well and septic field).

I guess the best thing to do is HAVE A PLAN and WORK YOUR PLAN!

RE: Living the Simple life

Stuck, I recently had a chance to reconnect with my roots a little. Get out, ride across several hours of ranch land, chase some cows, and pull some weeds in the garden. My sweetie was there by my side every step of the way. For me, it was reliving my youth, but for her it was a brand new life experience.

One she loved every second of.

At the end of the weekend, she looked at me and said “I finally get it, I finally get why you push back on authority so much.” We spent a long night talking about personal responsibility, and how there isn’t a farm or ranch family around that hasn’t experienced some tough times. Still, these people wouldn’t trade the risk of failure for the “protection” of the big government. At the bar (saloon really) that night we would sit around and reminisce about what it was like before 9/11, how there was some hope for curtailing interference in our lives, but now it was clear that we were in a snowball towards conflict.

For my money, there is no better feeling than chasing cows from horseback with my wife. It helped that I was astride a 17.5 hh monster at the time 🙂

RE: What I’m Doing About It –

Things I’ve Done That Haven’t Worked:

1. Bitched and Moaned.
2. Convert people whenever possible.
3. Write my congressman (many times)
4. Vote in local elections

I started to think about the doom-prepper style, but thats a bit too pacifistic for me, you sit back and watch it burn. I don’t have that personality, I’d have to be doing something. (Yes we do have some basic bulk food-stuffs, water tablets, firearms etc)

For awhile I thought about training for conflict….but lets be honest, that is largely a waste of time, at least for me.

I’ve started writing. Notes/thoughts/reflections. I’ve planned on launching my own blog for quite awhile, so thats where it will end up.

I’m a reasonably strong speaker, so podcast and other things will go along with it.

I’ll still write congressmen, and still vote locally, but thats what I’m doing right now Stuck. I’m not a millionaire, or a billionaire, and I’m still trying to crawl out from under this student debt as well as start a family, so I can’t put all my eggs in one basket.

The hour is late, I will be at peace and know that God is God. I will get my spiritual house in order. I will continue to minimize. I will soon be free of all debt/loans ( mortgage is final debt). I will add another dozen blueberry bushes, double my raspberry patch size by planting the vine tips in the dirt, add another 3 new egg layers each spring and start plum trees to go along with my peach and apple trees.
I will retire in 10 years max. I will spend my days outside in my small acreage clearing, chopping, planting and maintaining. I will teach my grandkids the small skills and knowledge I have and hopefully the love of the simple things. I will enjoy my beautiful wife and this beautiful life.
I am clean, I am well-fed, I have gainful employment and a small happy home with joking and laughter.
I will not let satan or the evils of TPTB steal my peace and inner joy which the Lord has promised to all who love and follow HIM. I will abide- this earth is not my home.

Go ahead and taunt those of us who can’t get off the hamster wheel, just know I’ll never – ever – be a nihilist quitter. Go down swinging – partly because you’re pissed, partly because you want a better life for your family and others, partly because others did it for you, and mostly because you’re pissed and if somebody wants to take from you what is yours and you don’t respond with a giant ‘fuck you’, you deserve it. Hiding in the woods isn’t an option, at least not for me.

For me, it’s the wakeup call to get that manual well pump in, order more seeds, and get the greenhouse together. If that (regular) work thing doesn’t get in the way… The clock is ticking, and the stupid out there means that there’s going to be a lot of dazed and confused people when it starts coming off the rails…It might be considered prepping, but it still has to get done. Living in the heart of a major metro area i kinda can care less about what happens.. I have no desire to live in the planned Gaza West. (uh geee why do you think they want your guns? All i do is try the best to prevent it.. or make the perpetrators eventually pay. Face it you live under Jewish law. Everyone bitching cant understand why hitlery got off scott free. Well why are you shocked? Silverstein , chertoff., 5 dancing Israelis to name just a few…all got off no questions asked. So doing research and knowing this country got Couped on 9-11 and understanding Jewish power is so pervasive i spend endless hours educating people. I concentrate on every military person i can. THEY are the only hope we got. I remind a mother with a son who had great intentions is only there because the Jew believes the gentile son is to fight his wars and ask her how she feels. Screw elections, bitchin. The people are too stupid and ignorant to save themselves. Hey the dodo bird went extinct for reasons eh? The military is our only hope. Pretty simple. Start arresting them now. Start with the Yellens, Bernakes right out in Time Square and work your way down to all the CON gress traitors that signed their loyalty to AIPAC (see Cynthia Mckinney if you need help with that) . Dont have the time? I respect that. .But just carry this tidbit with you make copies pass it on. Its ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW whats going on here. I really do wish all of you the best !

I’m not as stoopid as I look. Well, maybe. But…That statement is so out of the ordinary, so unquestioningly idiotic, that only a Jew hater would even post it as true.

I will stand corrected when proof that the statement is true and said by Begin. Dribble from hateful websites don’t count. kaisersosa, be careful what you believe. Believing something that’s untrue leads to actions that are unrealistic and a false solution to real problems.

Menachem Begin said this, “Peace is the beauty of life. It is sunshine. It is the smile of a child, the love of a mother, the joy of a father, the togetherness of a family. It is the advancement of man, the victory of a just cause, the triumph of truth.”

The is nothing left to DO. Nothing civil anyway…

The moment a country begins using bribes to bring in leftist voters from failed leftist states, and they are able to secure a majority of votes, it is game over. They can and will vote themselves free stuff and will not prosecute anyone as long as they dont stand in the way of Free Stuff. If you point any of this out, you are a racist, xenophobe, etc. The country is gone. There is no “legal” solution for getting it back. Yuo have to stop funding it, so it can collapse, and all the leeches can be purged. And then rebuild.

So, what I am DOing is the only “legal” thing I can do, which is reducing my economic output (and thus my tax contributions) to the bare minimum for survival and waiting for the leeches to debt-implode this pig.

I’m going to continue praying! OK stop laughing. God gave some of us, a brain, and I have been using that for a long time. I saw this over 40 yrs ago, just didn’t think it would take this long. Timing wasn’t one of my strong points. The future is hard to predict until after it happens, they say.

If 3 or 4 billion people are going to be retiring permanently six feet under in this collaspe, your chances of survival is severely in question, cabin in the sticks or not. But that doesn’t mean that you give up and not use that organ between your eyes. If you want that organ to help you, you need to exercise it. Get a membership in 24hr fitness. hahaha

Seriously folks, there isn’t much you can do to change the system. Why make a martyr of yourself by trying. It is a corrupt system run by evil people. The most that you can do is to separate yourself from it as best you can. I know what you’re thinking! But…I want my Social Security, Medicare, EBT card, SNAP and all the other free stuff. See! You’re not part of the problem, YOU are the problem. These evil systems eventually collapse and this one will too. It’s happening right now. The light of truth is shinning on it and it can only survive in darkness. Its days are numbered.

What if there is a nuclear exchange? How’s that cabin in the sticks going to protect you from fallout? What I’m saying is that there is so much to consider and no one has enough resources to plan for all the contingencies that the future may hold.

So, do what you can do that satisfies your mind and pray that you made the right decision. DOING SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN WALLOWING IN PARALYZING INDECISION.

What am I doing about it? Nothing really. What can one do when their government drops a steaming, stinking, fecal load on the last burning embers of the Rule of Law erasing any doubt that there are laws for all of us pissants and laws for, scratch that, no laws whatsoever for those one-percenters that claim moral superiority, and are incapable of finding happiness unless they are in a position to tell other people what they can and cannot do. As others have said before, a very large percentage of the population either could not give a donkey’s ass or is actually happy about their government’s decision. Unfortunately, the majority has not yet reached Bastille-like disgruntlement, and most likely never will unless Sammy tells them to put their fingers together if they want SNAP.

Now, what will I do if and when the SHTF? I’ve thought about that quite a bit. I’m no spring chicken any longer. I live out in the country so I expect things will certainly play out differently here than they will in metropolitan areas. Still, the evil will find its way to the hinterlands, eventually. And if and when it does, I will not run. I will stand my fucking ground until the absolute end, and I promise that should I perish, some of those trying to bring about my demise will get the opportunity to meet their maker also. I will not go without a fight. Of that there can be no doubt.

I’m limited on what I can do for now because I have to maintain a low (or generic) profile online and a commie-compliant existence overall, so I look forward to being able to retire in a few more years so I can be myself publicly. I had long planned a post-retirement career as a niggerologist, but lately am wondering if I’ll need to focus my efforts more generally against radical leftism (I can’t do much else if I end up as a serf, forced to serve the oligarchy while periodically getting raped by filthy snackbars). Regardless, my time in retirement will be devoted to fighting for my nation, if it still exists by then. I do have some ideas but sadly it’s looking more and more like it’ll be too late for most of them.

For now, I’m saving money (I’m sure I have the most ghetto address Jim ever got a contribution from) and reading and learning and planning while I finish out my prison sentence. I hate every day but I’m doing what I have to do for the time being. I can’t get to the next stage otherwise. I’ve had no debt since 2009 – a benefit of living in one of the world’s most renowned ghetto shitholes. I’ve also been scaling back on bullshit – shoes and family members mostly.

If SHTF before I can make it ‘out da hood yo’ I will at least run down a few slack-assed North American ground apes before my token white ass gets creamed. It’s the least I can do!

We must starve the Beast.

This is what I did. I went to my accountant and had my self withheld for federal income taxes in 2015 for 5 people.

Instead of spending that $$$, I had drafted from my bank account every month that amount of money to 501(c) charities that I support.

At tax time, all those charitable contributions came off my schedule A. (Yes, for my income they were limited a bit, but more most people that would not be the case.)

This reduced my adjusted gross income by a LOT, thus my overall taxes were much less, basically what I had already paid.

So, instead of paying $$$ to this corrupt and tyrannical POS called the fed.gov, I sent the $$$$$ to charities important to me.

I was never going to see that money anyway so I might as well give it to the organizations that matter to me and my family.

You can find good charities through Charity Navigator.org, kind of a clearing house for charities.

(You will NOT find the Clinton Foundation there.)

Personally, I would support a nation wide tax strike by all the poor fools still working, ala Ann Barnhardt, but most people do not have the courage or balls to do that.

And yes, I would do it if I could get enough people to join in.

Other than a nuclear strike on DC, about which I am extremely conflicted, perhaps the best thing is to just ignore all these federal regulations a la widespread civil disobedience.

Maybe someone already mentioned it but refusing to cooperate can be a powerful tool. The FBI has many powerful forensic tools at its disposal but it needs the cooperation of citizens. If it is viewed as a corrupt agency why should it receive any? How does the average citizen know that the information he is providing will not be abused or even misused against him?

James Comey has stained the bureau’s reputation to the point if I were to be asked by the FBI to give information I wouldn’t do it. I might cooperate with my local sheriff or District Attorney but, as far as I am concerned, Federal law enforcement is no longer trustworthy.

Stucky, I’m essentially doing exactly what you claim to be doing. I’ve withdrawn consent and participation in as many ways as I can. I’ve embraced minimalism and it’s been a revelation in terms of happiness and peace it brings. I’m working on obtaining my own “cabin in the woods” but my location will be more of a desert location I think. I grow much of my own food. As far as prepping goes, it’s just how I’ve always lived my life. Once a Boy Scout, always a Boy Scout I guess. It’s an active process that also allows me to reduce or even eliminate future expenses.

As an amateur astronomer I look up at the sky as often as possible and lately, when I get home at 3:00am or so I’ve caught myself wishing for an alien ship to just beam me up because I’ve truly had enough of of what “humanity” has to offer. It does seem like a shit hole, but I remind you it was your choice to be here and you rejoiced at the chance to make an entrance into this world. This is how you grow spiritually. This is how you join again with God. God didn’t get a divorce, you did. God is here, you just have to look for him. I am grateful for His companionship and trusting of His guidance. You’re here to do something, so get busy doing.

I’m reminded of a story. “Sounder” a movie about Negros in the deep South in 1933, in the midst of the Great Depression, staring Paul Winfield and Cicely Tyson.

Paul Winfield was walking down a country road with his friends and they passed by a ‘White Church’ and congregation’s singing was easily heard from the road which the group noticed.

Paul Winfield said, “I walked into a ‘White Church’ one time by mistake, and I said, God why did you let me come in here.” One of his friends said, “What did the Lord say?” Paul Winfield said, “God said, You’re doing better than Me. I’ve been trying to get in here for 200 years.”

God’s a Gentleman, He won’t come in unless you invite Him in.

However, seeing it through their eyes helps a LOT. The dog has almost fully recovered and we had a power outage and can say we are completely self-sustainable.

When I retired I had enough to buy a cabin in the woods and go the full ‘survivalist’ route but I was 58 and I like dining out and I like being able to see a doctor even more. That’s were they kind of ‘gotcha’. You can’t ( legally) keep a supply of morphine and unless your wife is a emergency room doctor being two hours or more from a hospital poses real risks.

I’m 64 now and, while trying to change a recessed florescent tube in the kitchen ( goddamned architects), I fell and fractured my hip. A year earlier my upstairs neighbor ( I live in a condo) who was 78 bought herself one of those devices that you strap yourself into and it allows you to hang upside down. Fortunately for her I was sitting on the balcony when I could hear her ( faintly) screaming for help! I went upstairs but her door was locked and her husband was in nursing home so I had to go find the manager to get access where we found her, upside down, and unable to get right side up again. She sold her place afterwards because living alone or with an elderly spouse just doesn’t always work.

That’s the problem with the ‘cabin in the woods’. It can kill you.

DO NOT WORRY GOD WILL DO IT….AND WE ARE CALLED TO REJOICE…Rejoice over her, O heaven,
and you saints and apostles and prophets;
because it is for you
that God has pronounced His judgment against her!!!!!Babylon is Fallen
1After this I saw another angel descending from heaven with great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his glory. 2And he cried out in a mighty voice:

“Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!a
She has become a lair of demons.
She is a haunt for every unclean spirit,
a hideout for every unclean bird,
and a hold for every detestable beast.b
3All the nations have drunkc
the wine of the passion of her immorality.
The kings of the earth were immoral with her,
and the merchants of the earth have grown wealthy
through the extravagance of her luxury.”
4Then I heard another voice from heaven say:

“Come out of her, my people,d
so that you will not share in her sins
or contract any of her plagues.
5For her sins are piled up to heaven,
and God has remembered her iniquities.
6Give back to her as she has done to others;
pay her back double for what she has done;
mix her a double portion in her own cup.
7To the degree that she has glorified herself and lived in luxury,
inflict on her that much torment and misery.
In her heart she says, ‘I sit as queen;
I am not a widow and will never see mourning.’
8Therefore her plagues will come in one day,
death and misery and famine;
and she will be consumed by fire,
for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”
Lament over Babylon
9Then the kings of the earth who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her will weep and wail at the sight of the smoke rising from the fire that consumes her. 10In fear of her torment, they will stand at a distance and cry out:

“Woe, woe to the great city,
the mighty city of Babylon!
For in a single hour
your judgment has come.”
11And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, because there is no one left to buy their cargo— 12cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, and pearls; of fine linen, purple, silk, and scarlet; of all kinds of citron wood and every article of ivory and precious wood, of bronze, iron, and marble; 13of cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, and frankincense; of wine, olive oil, fine flour, and wheat; of cattle, sheep, horses, and chariots; of slaves and souls of men.

14“The fruit of your soul’s desire
has departed from you;
all your luxury and splendor have vanished,
never to be seen again.”
15The merchants who sold these things and grew their wealth from her will stand at a distance, in fear of her torment. They will weep and mourn, 16saying:

“Woe, woe to the great city,
clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet,
adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!
17For in a single hour
such fabulous wealth has been destroyed!”
Every shipmaster, passenger, and sailor, and all who make their living from the sea, will stand at a distance 18and cry out at the sight of the smoke rising from the fire that consumes her, saying, ‘What city was ever like this great city?’

19Then they will throw dust on their heads as they weep and mourn and cry out:

“Woe, woe to the great city,
where all who had ships on the sea
were enriched by her wealth!
For in a single hour she has been destroyed.”
20“Rejoice over her, O heaven,
and you saints and apostles and prophets;
because it is for you
that God has pronounced His judgment against her.”
