Yesterday was the home inspection. Eight people traipsed through our home; the inspector, both buyers, their parents, and a plumber. It lasted FOUR hours. Unfucking real. Out realtor (dual agent) said it went quite well … although they found a number of “issues” … all relatively minor. I told him point blank that if these folks are going to nickle and dime us to death that they can go fuck themselves.
Anyway … we spent the four hours at B&N.
And, I bought this book;

The author had unfettered access to Trump. Donald didn’t like the book …. and sued the guy for $5 BILLION dollars …. which, of course, he lost.
Nevertheless, I was intrigued as to why Donald was so damned upset.
I’m telling ya, it’s a damned fine read. Even funny as hell at times. The Donald … he’s quite an Entertainer and Self Promoter, more than anything else. It will be an interesting four years, that’s guaranteed.
The next four years, IMO, are either going to be the rebirth of our nation or the end of it.
If Hillary had gotten in there would be no potential of rebirth to look forward to, only the end.

Happy New Year!
We got the nickle and dime and a 10K whamo. Structural issue 100th
inch out of plumb. Finally, after all of it, my Mr. called a halt. The
sale went through, we split the money and off we went. We do not
regret it. We have our far north farmette, and our sailboat to be docked
in FL. We will snowbird, or whatever, in our boat. Dock fees are very
fair/low…and no taxes, or condo fees. Plus we can pull-up and leave.

I’ll answer in a moment, but first …. are you a guy or a gal?? lol
Do I want to live in the mansion? Absolutely positively YES! Ms. Freud likes the idea, but isn’t yet 100% on board …. because of the Schwarzes really close by.
Also, it’s not OUR final decision, as it depends on the owners of the mansion. They’ve owned the place for 40 years. But, they moved down South somewhere to be near their children. They are coming up to NJ on Jan 3 to interview us. The realtor said it’s a hard place to get into. So, there’s no guarantee they will like us …. although, I don’t fucken understand how it’s possible to not like me.
Aaaaaaand then ……. JUST TODAY …. our Realtor called and said her broker has a house coming up for rent on Feb 1. It’s just three fucken blocks from here. And here’s the weird part …. it’s a virtual fucken carbon copy of our current house, although I don’t know the condition inside. We’re looking at it tomorrow.
The positives? Ms. Freud wouldn’t lose a single client due to a new location. And, she wouldn’t have to get rid of one single item. We just transfer shit from House A to House B. (The mansion is pretty much fully furnished, and we’d have to get rid of almost everything.)
The negatives? It feels like a DOWNWARD move …. from “owning” a house to now RENTING basically an identical house. It won’t feel like a change at all. I’d still have to mow, shovel, yard work, and even some maintenance …. the only thing we would be saving is paying taxes …. which, of course, are significant at 12k a year. Why move? And we both agreed a change is exactly what we need …. and that place just doesn’t feel changey enough.
So, girlfriend, I’m just rambling to get things off my chest. The bottom line is yeah, I really really really want to move into the mansion …. and it’s only .9 miles from my parent’s house. The appraiser comes tomorrow. I suspect we’ll know exactly where we will be living by Jan. 4th.
Who hasn’t wondered what it is like to live like a Vanderbilt or DuPont? That particular mansion is not on the level of Biltmore House etc. but VERY nice indeed. Ms. L says the kitchen alone would sway her vote.
Just concerned that one of Ms. Freud’s clients will go apeshit and the law will show up. But hey, YOLO and this is a unique opportunity. It would certainly be a nice place to come home to.
