However, I feel it’s important to point out that your argument seems to be mostly based on the Anecdotal Fallacy. You seem to be saying that since no one can provide you with an anecdote of a jew who wants to take over the world, then there must be no Jews who wants to take over the world. And how do I know? It plays into the other question. I stopped commenting, in part because the commentary had started to become angry and bitter and nasty and possessing a total lack of introspection not so different from the drivel spouted by the left. The bigger part of my lapse in participation here was neither about my job or my recent family changes, it was about depression. Two months ago, I was in a terrible place, telling my subconscious all kinds of terrible things. Much of this narrative had been in the background for DECADES and was now front and center.
Now, just a few weeks later, I feel better (most of the time, anyway) that I have for decades. Why? NOTHING has changed in my circumstances. NOTHING has changed in the world around me (at least not for the better). NOTHING.
Oh, I did some acupuncture and some herbs and some other things that all helped, but mostly, I made have made a continuous and deliberate effort to change my narrative. In other words, I tell my subconscious good, well meaning, positive LIES…and it has gone to work on making them true.

I believe you have asked a sincere, honest question, so I will give a sincere, honest evaluation/answer.
Please bear with me; I’ll ignore the whole ‘JOOS!’ issue, completely ignorant and irrelevant in my opinion.
I have dabbled with comments on TBP, with more pseudonyms, more styles, than any of you can know. Why have I decided to basically stop commenting; here it goes – Well, the level of posts/commentary can sometimes be transcendent; think HSF. I could only hope to remotely attain his level of insight-description and prose. Most fall into the small-clique mutual-masturbation blind-leading-the-blind category, or pure mindless hate-spewing (think ‘JOOS!’, or ‘dindus’ or whatever flavor of insult). It’s obvious that many of the more prolific commenters are very astute in their areas of knowledge and are, or have been, well-placed in positions of secular understanding and even power, and many of you know each other, personally. And it is just as obvious that most of you are doing what you enjoy. Good! Now, this is only MY opinion – even when someone actually gives a relatively informed post or a striking comment, they usually fall short of taking their reasoning to the logical next step, or conclusion. Perhaps because of a faulty original premise; I don’t know. And maybe I’m just not reading between the lines accurately.
I have been a serious (you know, actually study and reason and apply) Christian for a long, long time. Actually been present for at least two miracle resurrections/healings, to say nothing of the myriad other supernatural answers to prayer. I have been a devout student of history, especially military history, for at least 40+ years. Very intense/accomplished martial artist. Musician. Travelled the world. Lived overseas. I have seen where this country and this world have been heading since high school; we are now where I kept blaring -for at least 40+ years – we would be. It got to the point that I had to shut up because no one else could even glimpse what is so crystal clear to me, from historical, social/political and spiritual research. It’s amazing to me; basically everyone agrees that I was correct for years, that I am correct about what led us to this state of affairs, but insist I’m wrong about what’s coming. As a side note; I’m a retired State Corrections Officer that dealt with incarcerated sex-offender youth. (13 yrs to 26 yrs). One of my strengths was that ability to make connections/decisions when others couldn’t connect the dots, to read what others couldn’t even discern. An invaluable asset as a floor staff. Not tootin’ my own horn, just one part of knowing my own strengths and weaknesses. I see patterns where others see chaos.
That self-description sounds like BS, I know. But it is all true.
All of that was to explain that I could probably be at least a somewhat informed, maybe even entertaining at times, commenter. I have no hesitation to confront if I consider it warranted, or to praise. What I do believe is that it really wouldn’t make any real impact in those areas that I would desire. So…
While I will continue to read many of the posts and comments, basically my take has finally morphed into – I got better things to do, than spend my time throwing off with you. I got books to write, a ranch to run by myself, people to minister to and my elderly folks to care for. I think I almost fell into a time-robbing trap, not of your doing, but mine.
I’ll keep reading because some posts/comments have fascinating insight, but this will be my last comment. Basically, this site is one of many that helps me keep my ‘finger on the pulse’ of the state of the world at large. Please don’t consider me judgmental; keep on keepin’ on. I am usually a little behind in my TBP reading and after reading all the great comments, there is nothing I could possibly add. Besides the top notch essays, news and articles, I learn a lot from the comments. One thing I especially enjoy about TBP comments is the quantity. There seems to be an appropriate amount of comments for the posts. Some good discussion. Points and counterpoints are made then everyone moves on. I see video clips on Infowars that have over 400 comments and I have no idea who has the time to read them all. So I don’t bother to read any of them.
Also, I find I don’t like to comment just to throw out a quick zinger or idea if there is a chance I could use it in an essay of my own. I struggle to come up with good material and I don’t know how some of the regular TBP posters are able to constantly come up with new stuff. I get that they are great writers but without fresh ideas we would never know it.

No. At its core it is NOT a Christian thingy. It IS a Joo thingy.
Let me start with this most important premise for all to read: Jesus taught nothing “new” in the New Testament.
He certainly did not teach new laws. He came to fulfill the law (his own words). Jesus taught in new ways for example, especially parables, but not in new teachings. 100% of Jesus’ teachings are rooted in the OT. You see this over and over as Jesus prefaces many or most of his sayings with “it is written” or “the Scriptures say”. Which Scriptures, written where? The OT, of course. IIRC, somewhere around 25% of Jesus teachings are Directs Quotes from the OT. (I’m waaay to swamped to spend time looking things up).
And, so it is with the turn-the-other-cheek saying. While that exact phrase is not found in the OT — the principle is.
Almost all people think the “eye for an eye” Scripture is a call for vengeance. It is no such thing. It is a call to LIMIT vengeance. In other words, if someone loses an eye, they can take an eye … but no more than that. If someone loses a tooth , they can take a tooth … but no more than that. Limited vengeance.
The idea of limited vengeance is also found in these two verses from Proverbs; “If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.” And, “Do not say, ‘I will repay evil’ but wait for the Lord and He will save you.”
So, when Jesus talked about turning the other cheek he was merely extending the OT teaching of limiting vengeance. He certainly was not coming up with a brand new teaching. The idea of that teaching was already well understood by the people listening. All he did – as he often did — was just take an existing OT idea, and carried it out to its logical conclusion. That is to say …. He is teaching that we ought to give up personal vengeance altogether.

I should have pointed out that my comment was from a generally accepted Christian perspective. So, even the verse you pointed out about Jesus being “the way and the truth and the life” is not new, but foretold in the Old Testament.

I thought the book Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth by Reza Aslan was particular interesting for pointing out with clarity that Jesus was a firebrand radical and it caused him great suffering . Jesus came to offer salvation to all mankind not just Jews. So there his teachings differ from the Messiah of the OT. Jesus also offered eternal life to his followers which is something not in the OT Messiah’s job description. I’m sure there are more examples , but I’m not well enough versed in the scripture to provide them. Jesus did not fulfill the expectations of OT Hebrews , therefore there was a chasm of difference betwixt the Hebrew bible (OT) and the Christian bible (OT)

Maybe I can help you with that. The New Testament begins after Jesus is gone. It was His death that gave it power. The New Testament was taught by the apostles, not Jesus. He was a Jew under the law and taught the law as Stucky has so eloquently stated. He did not generally teach New Testament principles to Israel.
