Just days after Trump-immigration-order-blocking Judge Robart was exposed for his ‘fake facts’ about terrorist convictions, Apple CEO Tim Cook has dragged up another narrative calling for a “massive campaign” against fake online news stories. “It’s killing people’s minds,” exclaims Cook who calls for governments to fund a Ministry of Truth-sounding “modern version of a public service announcement” in order to fight the epidemic (and education campaigns in schools).
Trust in the mainstream media is at a record low…
But Apple CEO Tim Cook knows who is to blame for “the epidemic of false reports that is a big problem in a lot of the world.”
And in a frighteningly Orwellian interview with The Telegraph, Cook explains calmly how to fix ‘fake news’…
“It has to be ingrained in the schools, it has to be ingrained in the public,” said Mr Cook. “There has to be a massive campaign. We have to think through every demographic.
“We need the modern version of a public-service announcement campaign. It can be done quickly if there is a will.”
“We are going through this period of time right here where unfortunately some of the people that are winning are the people that spend their time trying to get the most clicks, not tell the most truth,” he said. “It’s killing people’s minds in a way.”
“All of us technology companies need to create some tools that help diminish the volume of fake news.
“We must try to squeeze this without stepping on freedom of speech and of the press, but we must also help the reader. Too many of us are just in the complain category right now and haven’t figured out what to do.”
So – exactly who will choose what is “stepping on freedom of speech”? Leave it to the liberal billionaires to decide, throttle, and choke off differences of opinion. Well Cook has another solution… start ’em young…
“It’s almost as if a new course is required for the modern kid, for the digital kid.”
But he is optimistic. “In some ways kids will be the easiest to educate. At least before a certain age, they are very much in listen and understand [mode], and they then push their parents to act. We saw this with environmental issues: kids learning at school and coming home and saying why do you have this plastic bottle? Why are you throwing it away?”
Cook concludes naively that this crackdown would help providers of quality journalism (like CNN?) drive out clickbait…
“The outcome of that is that truthful, reliable, non-sensational, deep news outlets will win.”
So to clarify Cook’s thoughts – tech firms should throttle newspeak from sources they deem ‘fake’, so-called “high quality journalism” should be promoted, and kids should be indoctrinated from an early age to read what the government (or liberal billionaire tech CEOs) deems ‘proper’…

Tonight I happened to see some of the NBC Nightly News at a friends. They actually showed a couple minutes of an SNL skit about Trump vs. the 9th Circuit as illustrating ‘the controversy.’ Some yada yadat yada about “Immigration Round-ups” occurring. Exactly who is now actually being rounded-up? I know there are pedo arrests by the hundreds occurring. Are these being conflated as “immigration arrests?”
Incredibly, someone else in the room actually made a comment about how low that was.

… oh yeah, the same news show kept showing pictures of Owebomber w/various quotes about what he thinks about immigration. I’m not sure why the same newspeople never asked Owebomber about why it was OK to kill brown people ‘over there’ in the first place – which is pretty much what his policy was.
Zuckerberg, Cook, Bezos, Dorsey, Schmidt. They don’t inhabit normal society. Too bad. I’d like to see them walking through a mall and get stabbed by a Somali.
Yesterday morning on NPR the newscaster- not one of the guys from Car Talk or Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me- but the actual newscaster was reading the news and when she came to the story about Trump and the travel ban she quoted him, but she did it with a retard sounding voice, just openly mocking him like it was SNL. The first time I caught it I wasn’t really paying close attention, and I thought “this must be an opinion piece”, but when she got to a second quote she repeated it again- derisive and slurring the words as if he had Down’s Syndrome. All I could think was if she had done that in any other context, she would have been removed before the program was over- had she done a black dialect, for example in quoting Obama it would have been a big news story of its own, instead they’re setting the new low for whatever this is called now.
Cook cares about The Narrative, not the News because he can see it unwinding on them.
No one believes them anymore because of what they’ve done, not citizen journalists.
How do you listen to NPR without falling asleep?
For some reason, that monotonous drone voice they practice always puts me to sleep.
Not sure Mr. Apple is on the side of the angels, not sure if the fake news he is talking about is CNN, NYT or Breitbart. It is likely he is just talking about more PC, more government thought and speech control. That will make people’s minds sick for sure.
We are made to operate on Truth, Love and Life (to value, cherish life) and to worship the One True Living God – not Islam’s bloodthirsty allah, not the pagan buddha, not a jillion hindu gods, and mayan/inca blood/child sacrifice gods, nor earth/sky/tree/animal gods, or any of those – The GOD who loves, cares enough to humble himself, come to earth, work as a carpenter, teach outdoors, call fishermen, crooked taxpayers, harlots, fatherless, homeless children to a True Father, everyday people to a glorious mutual loving eternal relationship.
We rarely live this and rarely show it to the world. Franklin Graham is an example of someone who has put this more excellent way of life to work in reality. He has put hands, feet and heart to the Gospel. He shows up when folks are hurting and their lives destroyed, brings food, hammers, nails, helpers. Graham cared enough to pray with people in all 5o states on their Capitol steps and with them the night before the election (More than 780,000 tuned in to pray).
We Americans, Christians of every sort, and patriotic non-Christians as well, can be wise as serpents, harmless as doves, defend our borders, respect and uphold law and order, live and teach the Way of Love, Truth and Life to all we encounter. That is what America is – and what Americans are and do.
That is what the left are trying to destroy.
Americans are not leftist, lawless and we are not fools, we can discern good from evil.
We do not respect the human rights abusive, supremacist, oligarchical, violent ideologies and we tell the truth about them – no matter what – despite the silencing the liberals demand.
Very ironic that the company, that in the 80’s featured the commercial showing the big talking head on the screen, with rows of drones getting propaganda from their “dear leader” – The 1984 Macintosh commercial, is now pushing an Orwellian “newspeak” campaign at children. It is really true that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Tim Cook and Apple need to just shut the F^&* up, and stick to making isheeple products. Same with the rest of “big tech”. Just like Hollywood, the NFL, Lindsey (lets get along with Muslims) Lohan, and the rest of these monied SJW’s, they are just pushing more and more people away from the “progressive left”. To me the whole “fake news” phenomenon is the multitude of people-like me-who now with access to the vast sources of information available on the net for the 1st time ever has come to the conclusion that about 95% of what we were taught by “experts” was and is pure self serving bullshit from TPTB. It’s not that we need to weed out “fake news”. That’s the norm. It’s that we need to seek out the rare truth.
Let’s have someone walk up to Tim Cook and demand that his views be silenced because, in the opinion of the interrupter, Tim’s views are “fake news and must be silenced”. If Tim protests, ask him WHO gets to decide what is “fake news” and how much power should he have to silence those who make it?
