It’s been a busy week or two. On top of working on some other projects and running my company, I finally decided it would be a good idea to have a place to catalog my writing so I have been piecing together a blog for that purpose over the past week.
It can be found here:
It’s not 100% complete – I still have to figure out an efficient way to post all of my photos in thumbnail format (there are a lot of them) so that page sits blank for now. I haven’t added the articles and essays I published before I started posting here. Not sure if I will.
We are working on some new projects for the spring and fall. I’ve decided to start doing some video for fun. So there will be some of that coming too. Probably some gun related stuff – maybe some reviews if I can get time.
I’ve halted the novel for a short bit. I have a new chapter queued up but am waiting to release it for a little while.
That’s it for now.
Francis
The blog looks great so far. Looking forward to your photos (love your landscape) and Part IX. Best of luck, Francis.
Congratulations Francis!
I will visit there, so thanks.
Please get around to guns. I am <110# and "older." I have a Taurus 9,
PT 24/7 that is heavy. Two hands of course. I want something a bit more
petite that won't shock my hands off. Help.
Wow, your site shines. Bookmarked after responding.
Thanks and thanks for being one of the first to comment.
Hmmm….,a new endeavor, best of luck,a quick look seems to show a quality layout ect.I said quick as am wondering if I visit for any long period of time will it make me Canadian?I know, you say don’t be silly, but lets face it,folks don’t get fat overnight, tis a few pounds here/a few there, next thing you know, your fat!Hence why I fear longer visits are like letting the camels nose get in under the tent and then find meself contemplating maple leaves/drinking Labatts/riding a moose(OK,that might be cool) and having a till now never contemplated desire to curl, hmmmm….,seems a bit risky!
James,
You’ll be ok. I’ve spent the better part of twenty years dealing with Americans in business and in places like this. It hasn’t hurt my identity at all.
Regards,
Francis Marion
Is free speech allowed? Can we say Islam sucks, fuck the Jooz, stuff like that?
Think of it this way. TBP is an R rated free for all. My blog is a PG discussion at the dinner table. My kids and my folks are currently reading it, comments will be moderated to suit that audience. Post accordingly.
Crisp, clean, and appealing. (Perhaps the apple that satisfies a hunger without the fat?) My thought would be to offer the same opportunity for others to occasionally post and learn to deal/deflect the always loving comments. That aside, you are one of the first authors I gravitate to on the TBP.
Best wishes
Thanks – I’ll think about how I am going to handle content. I did it mostly just to have my stuff under one roof (sort of in one block if that makes sense). I write everything in Jim’s WordPress platform so technically that is where all of my writing lives (I know you’re thinking why??? Because I detest writing in ‘word’ for some reason – I get a mental block whenever I open the damn program up). My plan is to keep writing and posting here like I have been until Jim gives me the boot or I have a stroke. Whichever comes first. I’ll then continue to use highcountry to catalog and post some stuff like pics etc that I might not otherwise put here.
I think it’s kind of unseemly to use the privilege of posting articles on this site to advertise for another. I won’t visit it, but mostly just because I am lazy. I already have enough places on the internetz to find what I am looking for.
Why is it unseemly?
I have been producing original content for Jim, more or less exclusively, for some time. It has benefited both of us in a variety of ways. I also asked his permission before I did it. I wouldn’t have dreamed of doing otherwise.
Moreover, it is not a competing blog, the format is completely different, being merely a catalog of my own stuff.
In light of that why would you care?
I will admit I also thought was a bit strange but went with since your post about your new site was published figure TBP had no issue with it.I would also say most sites (including here)list other sites that might be of interest to readers/visitors.
I also suffer from site overload, means I need to get out more and get off the fucking net, easy as the weather improves and winter a lingering past.
So again, best of luck with new endeavor and will do quick hits but am still fearful of catching “Canadaism”,can’t have that,I have enuff issues!
Francis Marion ,I had no idea you were writing a book .I thought it was a short story of some sort.I was saving my comments for the ending.Anyway I believe having your own Blog is a good idea but I hope you will still write some for the Burning Platform. Especially your hunting trips with your Indian friend..I will make it over to the High Country from time to time.Good luck with your new Blog.
I’m not going anywhere. How’s your gut?
