I think Treason is a serious charge. If it is found that Rand Paul is not in fact a Russian operative, what should be done to / with John McStain?

John McCain: Rand Paul ‘Is Now Working for Vladimir Putin’
After the Kentucky senator objected to a bill advancing Montenegro’s push for NATO membership, McCain lost his cool and accused his colleague of being a Putin operative.

The long-simmering war between Sens. John McCain and Rand Paul boiled over on Wednesday when the Arizona lawmaker directly accused his colleague of working for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

While speaking from the Senate floor in support of a bill advancing Montenegro’s bid to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), McCain noted objection from his Kentucky colleague, saying that if you oppose the measure, “You are achieving the objectives of Vladimir Putin… trying to dismember this small country which has already been the subject an attempted coup.”

McCain continued: “If they object, they are now carrying out the desires and ambitions of Vladimir Putin and I do not say that lightly.”

Several moments later, after the 80-year-old senator asked for unanimous consent to move the bill forward, Paul took the mic to raise his objection before dramatically exiting the room.

In response, McCain began railing against Paul, his voice trembling with anger: “I note the senator from Kentucky leaving the floor without justification or any rationale for the action he has just taken. That is really remarkable, that a senator blocking a treaty that is supported by the overwhelming number—perhaps 98, at least, of his colleagues—would come to the floor and object and walk away.”

He then directly connected Paul to the Russian government: “The only conclusion you can draw when he walks away is he has no justification for his objection to having a small nation be part of NATO that is under assault from the Russians.

“So I repeat again, the senator from Kentucky is now working for Vladimir Putin.”

In a statement to The Daily Beast, a McCain spokesperson clarified the senator’s words, writing: “Senator McCain believes that the person who benefits the most from Congress’s failure to ratify Montenegro’s ascension to NATO is Vladimir Putin, whose government has sought to destroy the NATO alliance, erode confidence in America’s commitments to its allies, overthrow the duly-elected government of Montenegro, and undermine democratic institutions throughout Europe.”

His office further stated: “Senator McCain, and certainly the people of Montenegro, would appreciate an explanation from Senator Paul as to why he sought to prevent this small, brave country from joining in the defense of the free world.”

In response, Paul avoided the over-the-top nature of McCain’s initial attack, instead commenting on the policy issue at hand. “Currently, the United States has troops in dozens of countries and is actively fighting in Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Yemen (with the occasional drone strike in Pakistan),” he told The Daily Beast.

“In addition, the United States is pledged to defend 28 countries in NATO. It is unwise to expand the monetary and military obligations of the United States given the burden of our $20 trillion debt.”

Paul’s NATO-skeptic words notably echo those of President Trump, who ran on backing away from involvement with the alliance, having called it “obsolete” and lamented how it “costs us a fortune.” McCain, of course, vehemently opposed such words.

The Arizona senator’s brusk accusation is the latest controversy to emerge from the Senate floor. Little more than a month ago, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell cut off Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren as she read a 1986 letter from Coretta Scott King suggesting Sen. Jeff Sessions actively worked to block the black vote.

Citing a Senate rule against impugning the motive of a colleague, McConnell reprimanded Warren. The majority leader’s office did not immediately respond to request for comment on whether McConnell plans to similarly punish McCain for suggesting his colleague works for the Russian government.

OK, how about a slight edit of the question, such as:

Whether or not it is found that Rand Paul is not in fact a Russian operative, what should be done to / with John McStain?

My answer is that McCain should be charged with treason so that everything he’s done since he reached adulthood can be investigated in order to maximize the number of counts brought against him.

Then we could have a pool with the numbers 12-144 at $20 per number. The lucky winner could really hit it big if the pool was filled.

He ought to be sent back to Vietnam to finish out his sentence. That deranged bastard was dropping bombs on innocent civilians after all (when he wasn’t selling out his cellmates or blowing up his own carrier). He is evil personified, Hell bent on war with Russia and if he’s successful I hope the 1st mushroom cloud hangs over Phoenix.

I do hope Rand channels his Old Man’s courage and takes him on (but I’m not betting on it).

If McCain is found guilty of treason which he is imho He should be tied to a rocket and shot toward the sun. I read a comment here from someone not sure who flash or flashman feeling torn about wishing this old pos would die off. I have lately been having similar thoughts towards little johny. He is such an embarrassment to this state. Someday his awful karma will catch up to him. I hope I am alive to celebrate that day. I will never stop giving thanks to the governor of the universe if he smites this pile of human excrement.

Article III, Section 3:

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”

If Jane Fonda manning an anti aircraft gun in an enemy country we were at war with wasn’t treason, I find it hard to believe anything McCain has done or is doing could be considered to be treason.

Straw man?

Hardly.

Fonda really did that and it wasn’t considered treason.

And McCain was in Hanoi as well, under somewhat different circumstances, same time as Fonda.

I suppose you support her?

Fuck McCain. After the last 13 years, thousands of American lives and trillions of dollars lost in pointless wars he wants to ensnare us in more wars including, but not limited to, Syria, Iran and eventually nuclear war with Russia. He’s adhering to our enemy, alright- our enemy satan. If that’s not considered treason, it goddamn well should be.

Not even a good attempt at keeping up your strawman, anonyhole. Nobody said shit about Fonda, you just stuffed her and propped her up there. That makes your use of her a strawman, since you don’t seem to even understand the charge.

BTW, Fuck no I don’t “support” her, I despise all the fucking Fonda kids and grandkids. Old Hank was an asshole too. What else you got? Nothing or more of the same, I’m guessing.

What Fonda did was was reprehensible and stupid to be sure. But in that war was never declared by congress I don’t believe she could have been charged with giving aid and comfort to the enemy. That lawyerly bullshit aside Mc Shit is guilty of causing far more damage to the best interests of people of the US than Fonda ever dreamed of.

Or would you just like pretending your personal definition is what constitutes it?

(and if you don’t know how to read a very short and simple law and identify the stated elements it contains, you shouldn’t have a legal opinion of anything anyway)

Sure, anonyhole McCain sucker. The first charge would be ditching an intact military aircraft in order to defect to the NVA, then he could be charged with each distinct act of collaboration while “incarcerated”. Next, his motivation for abandoning US POWs could be investigated to see what foreign power he was serving while filling a Senate seat. On the collaboration, I’m sure that more than two witnesses would come forward to testify at his trial.

His globetrotting in support of neocon war projects certainly raises questions about who he’s serving today. An investigation is in order and it just might add a few more counts to his indictment. If you think these wars of choice are being planned by only domestic actors, you’re as stupid as you look. McCain could easily be convicted of treason by any competent prosecutor.

See, you only think you’re intelligent. Actually, you’re a fucking GOPtard mongoloid. Use your real screen name, get a new one, or STFU.

I can’t cite where it is in the law or Constitution but I believe that Senators and House members may say anything on the floor of the House or Senate w/o consequence of law.
However, both bodies set their own rules/standards for behavior and he could be made to apologize.
It wouldn’t hurt if everyone called their Senators.

Mc Shitstain is WAY past his sell by date. This man must be suffering from senility. Seriously. And it is getting to the point with government idiots, that every time someone suggests common sense, they are accused of working for Putin. You know, at this rate, Putin is going to become the most popular un-elected member of our government, without even trying. Who needs RT and propaganda when these ass clowns are doing it themselves?
What is this obsession with Putin anyway? Is North Korea’s Kim Jun-whatever so stable and righteous? When is the last time you heard Putin killing top lieutenants with anti-aircraft guns? But yet Putin is the arch villain of the Washington dumbass class. I saw an article this morning on MSN (I know, reliable news there / not) writing about the “Russian Spy hacker threat”. Really? Because China, the country that every politician seems to do somersaults and pushes there way in front of to kiss their ass, has never hacked anything right?

If it were Trump. Trump would start in on the Keating 5 and how Mccain fleeced the tax payers. Then Trump would get around to the fact that Mccain was last in his graduating class at Annapolis. And his stupidy showed when he almost sunk an aircraft carrier by himself.

No Rand Paul is a loser and Trump a winner. Remember when Trump called out Mccain early in the campaign as not being a hero? Where was Rand Paul then?

Rand Paul Responds To “Unhinged” McCain

by Tyler Durden
Mar 16, 2017 2:22 PM

On the heels of yesterday’s McCain meltdown exclaiming that Rand Paul “is now working for Vladimir Putin,” the Kentucky Senator released a short statement…

“Currently, the United States has troops in dozens of countries and is actively fighting in Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Yemen (with the occasional drone strike in Pakistan). In addition, the United States is pledged to defend 28 countries in NATO. It is unwise to expand the monetary and military obligations of the United States given the burden of our $20 trillion debt.”

And then appeared on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ to explain…

he did not pull any punches (via RealClearPolitics)…

GEIST: So, Senator, a little context around that. The vote was around putting Montenegro into NATO. What’s your reaction to Senator McCain’s characterization of your objection?

PAUL: You know, I think he makes a really, really strong case for term limits. I think maybe he’s past his prime; I think maybe he’s gotten a little bit unhinged.

I do think that when we talk about NATO, there can be a rational discussion about the pros and cons of expanding it. We currently have troops, combat troops, in about six nations. We have troops actively just stationed in probably a couple dozen others. We have a $20 trillion debt. And one of my favorite articles of the last couple years is one that talked about the angry McCains, and if they — if we put active troops and got involved in combat where McCain wants us to be, they put a little angry McCain on the globe, on the map. And it’s virtually everywhere. So his foreign policy is something that would greatly endanger the United States, greatly overextend us. And there has to be the thought whether or not it’s in our national interest to pledge to get involved with a war if Montenegro has an altercation with anyone.

There’s also another argument, is that when you ask the people of Montenegro, only about 40 percent or slightly less are actually in favor of this. They are close to Russia, they’re close to being sort of, like Ukraine, in the transition from Europe to Asia. Perhaps it would be good to be like Switzerland and be more neutral and trade with both.

So, there’s a lot of considerations but to call someone somehow an enemy of the state or a traitor might be considered by most reasonable people to be a little over the top.

GEIST: But Senator, you just called John McCain unhinged. You said he was past his prime. Why do you think so many other senators have voted in favor of this measure if it’s so crazy?

PAUL: I think that there is a bipartisan consensus that’s incorrect that we should have the whole world be in NATO. For example, if we had Ukraine and Georgia in NATO — and this is something McCain and the other neocons have advocated for — we would be at war now because Russia has invaded both of them.

And so I think having former satellites or former parts of the Soviet Union is NATO is very provocative. And you have to decide in advance whether you’re ready go to war. If you guys are ready to send a million troops into Ukraine and fight World War III, you’re going to do it without my support because I think that’s a really foolish notion.

GEIST: Do you think, Senator, places like Albania and Croatia then should have been allowed into NATO in 2009?

PAUL: I think it’s a real debate how big NATO should be and whether or not it’s more provocative than good. And there’s also the debate that the president brought up throughout the campaign, and that is we seem to be paying for all of it. Whenever there’s a war fought, our soldiers fight it and our dollars pay for it. And so the 45 soldiers that Montenegro has I think are hardly an asset to our national security. And, really, our decisions need to be about our national security. And so I just don’t think it enhances our national security to have Montenegro part of NATO.

Paul makes a good point, and as Mike Krieger noted yesterday, the McCain outburst should alarm all Americans. McCain is accusing a fellow Senator of disloyalty and allegiance to a foreign power simply because he disagrees with him. It’s remarkably similar to what we saw Adam Schiff do a few months ago in an embarrassing interview with Tucker Carlson. It seems yelling “Russia” is simply the new strategy for clueless politicians when they can’t win an argument.

I don’t know about the rest of youall, but it kicks my pessimism into high gear. I haven’t seen any headlines about it but I haven’t looked. When zerohedge does a rebuttal my ears perk up.
We all know who Mcshame is, but why would he accuse another senator of treason on the house floor. Does anyone think it might be because it was Rand Paul. Remember, Ron Paul supporters were traitors 20 years ago. Mcstain is a puppet. He says nothing unless he’s told to. We now have Rand in the news being branded a traitor by his own party. We now have that big old T word slithering through msm, so we can dumb down it’s meaning if hillies and “o’ s TREASON comes up at all, Now if it does it will be a repub. or Trump trick.
Yes I’m feeling kinda Penced off today, I saw an article about negative health effects of daylight savings time. Indiana fought it off for years until Pence decided we just had to have it.
I don’t remember how Colorado recalled senators or congresspersons a while back, but they did, and every time I hear mcstains name it’s what I think of. We have several here I would like to recall, and as I think about I wonder if it would cause serious Muslim backlash. I saw in the posts: how long before assassinations start. Makes me wonder too.

I am getting ready to write an article that will either help explain this or shut down TBP for good. I went through POW training for my aircrew position (necessary or not… I got stuck escaping and evading with a B-52 pilot named Steve who was the worst triangulator EVER.) We got caught late in the training exercise, having gotten so lost I just pulled out my cigarettes and smoked while we walked up the road. When we got to the “POW” internment camp, it got really ugly becauase since we were LOST, they had sent the dogs and helicopters out after us.

McStain might have originally been honorable. However, the story his comrades in POW camp tell suggest that the favoritism shown that son of an Amiral led to some behaviors that were questionable at best and potentially SELF-aggrandizing at worst.

I knew lots of Shitstain McCains. They attended my father’s POW reunions every year and they thought that since they survived something HORRIFIC like Vietnamese POW camps, they are smarter or better able to defend the public trust (I.e., SPEND YOUR TAX DOLLARS on themselves and their wife’s family industry, which is WEAPONS).

The article is named “When asswipes marry men who don’t know what Is IZ”

Of course, is Cindy Lou Who McCain the little “who” that caused an Elephant named Horton to climb up a tree and say???? HEY… I…AM…HERE.

It is cryptic, but finally my husband Nick can see that I have a real story to tell and he doesn’t mind my sharing it here.

Coming soon… the story that I need to tell about Women in the Military. Why Vaginas are not replaceable with Penises.

That is the subtitle, unwritten. Unsaid. If Stucky would show up, I might consider letting HIM edit it for me.

Unavoidable? EC? Suzanne? Billy (I realize you are not bb now… that was scary. You be one scary dude). Bea? Admin… I am almost ready to go, but am waiting for someone to blast a trumpet. OR Trump Pence.

Same same. Fifty/fifty.
