They have been edging higher over the last year, back to where they started in 2007 at $2.40 per gallon.

Gasoline is one of the most manipulated commodities on the market by many groups. The price is simply not a mater of availability/supply and demand. If the Lib-Progs do not take out Trump, and he is able to implement most of his policies, the price should come down to “B” or lower, and then level off awhile.

A. ….. due to the fact that nobody (the 80+%) will be able to afford to buy any gasoline at that price, or any other. Can u say unobtainium boys n girls ?!!

I’ll pick C. $2.50 to $3.00 if there is no hyperinflation (or war, as mentioned above).

We will become like all the Socialist countries then: plentiful for the rich at $15.00 per quart.

I pick B. The world economy will be stagnant if not worse, but inflation will mask the true costs.

In 5 years?

Man, I wouldn’t even guess at that.

But one thing I’m sure of, it will be whatever the market will bear in relation to its availability, the same as it is now.

I predict that in five years the average American family will spend more on telephony and internet than on gas. Just like now.

I vote (e); the Crunch will make the dollar worthless, so gasoline will be infinitely valuable compared to the dollar.

LOL I’m paying $6.32 for a US gallon of gas right now!! Ya I know….. I live in Canuckistan on the left coast where both your refineries in Washington state to the south are down for maintenance, at least that’s the meme their sticking to. Of course you and I know it’s all BS……….

A US gallon, but is that Canadian $$? If so it’s at less than .75/1 U$D today. $4.70/gal is still a lot though. How much is tax? The last tankful on the way out of CA forever on a holiday weekend 9 years ago was $4.60 for reg. & the highest I’ve ever paid.

In 5 years? Who knows? In the early 70s it went from .25 to over $1.50 in a matter of weeks, then stabilized right around $1 for a long time.

“I’m paying $6.32 for a US gallon of gas right now!!”
Really, seriously? That’s more than twice what we are paying in Central PA. You need to move, me thinks.

G. Under $1.50

It probably wont stay that low for very long before the Fed goes ballistic with another round of printing. The 3 year moving average price will probably be $2.50

I have no idea in 5 years but with certainty 5 generations from now we will be castigated for wasting such a valuable commodity.

Yea: I’m for cheap gas, but I used to say that burning oil (or gasoline) is the worst thing you can do with the substance.

<$1

When no one has any money, prices will be low.

Paradoxically, most people will not be able to afford it at this price. Low prices do not mean better affordability. I also expect some things we now take for granted to be unavailable at any price. Such is the consequence of the collapse of globalism. There are no unmitigated blessings.

this is artbyjoe, away from my computer.
it is my prediction that in 10 years only antique cars will be running on gasoline. cash for clunkers will be throwing those away as fast as possible. the new thing coming soon, already in prototype and works, is FLOW THRU FUEL CELLS, running on salt water.
it was originally a NASA patent, which they decided not to use for spacecraft. so the technology has been upgraded, by a company that wants to sell the technology it winds up with to the major car companies.
