Swearing, loud phone calls….guilty on both counts. I can’t help it, man.

meh…its rather subjective and sounds more like a whining millennial list than anything else. If you dont like your boss/job leave it. If you dont like what they say, make a point to tell them about it. Most of that list is what a boss says or how it is said or perhaps directly said, but if you have never taken the effort to address it thats your fault. If a boss leaves early or is lazy…he or she is the boss and there is little you can do about and perhaps you arent privy to why they leave early or come late…The best idea is to simply take accountability for your life and either get the experience or educational letters behind your name needed to be the boss.

Well I lost my job again after just ten days. The boss calls me into the office, and tells me he wasn’t honest with me when he hired me. He wasn’t looking to fill an examiner position at all. When he saw my level of experience he hired me to train me up so HE could retire in a year and sit on his ass. He said “I don’t know what I was thinking, I just don’t have time to do that”. I don’t know what he was thinking either. I wouldn’t want his job to start, and if he’d been honest I would have told him I don’t think I’m qualified for that. He’s going to need an attorney or underwriter, most of whom are attorneys. In the meantime I got called about two other jobs I might have had a chance at. If I stop posting, I’m probably dead. Really. I don’t think I’m going to make it another year if this kind of BS keeps happening to me. This is the second time in a few months I’ve been hosed by some old dick who wants to retire out of the field of real estate. Tell anyone you like, do NOT go into this field.

Come to Spokane KaD. I hear tell that biding wars are breaking out all over town with people willing to pay more than the asking price. I’m thinking about selling my place and living in a big 5th wheel for a couple years until this bubble blows and then buy back in cheap.

According to Zillow, my place is worth $168,000! Bwahahahaha! I don’t see it but if some maroon will give me that I’ll take it! I paid $76,000 for it.

I’m not joking. I’ve had stomach cramps and severe diarrhea for four days now. Don’t bother to tell me to go to the doctor, I haven’t had any insurance since 2009, since I can’t, you know, get a decent job. In addition I just caught my guy watching porn for the second time in two weeks. He tries to minimize it before I see. He’s the one who told me he doesn’t have a sex drive anymore. I don’t understand why someone would want to watch people having sex when they have someone they can have sex with, but what do I know. And it’s not like I’ve turned him down, ever. I just see any point in talking to him about it, what good would it do? My life is so far in the toilet I don’t know which direction is UP anymore.

KaD,
1. Consult with T4C pronto.
2. Porn is addictive and an addict will display similar behavior of an alcoholic hiding bottles and sneaking drinks. Most likely it began as an effort to stimulate a flagging libido due to unemployment or a major disappointment (although that last can lead to self-destructive shit like having an affair).
3. How have your troubles affected your grooming? Is your hair falling out? Have you gained a lot of weight? This also may have an impact in the bedroom.

Not at all. I have a size 14 bust and a 10 waist. Most people think I’m 10 or more years younger than my actual age. And what is T4C? I’d be shocked if anyone got it on with him. He’s the poster child for someone who needs to be on a LOW carb diet.

T4C is TBP’s head nurse. Admin runs a full service operation.

Yeah, I resemble that remark. Diabetes has nullified my libido. I avoid porn because it doesn’t inspire a wisp of an erection and it is just a waste of time. Viagra can fuck up your eyesight and cause some other shit so that’s out of the question.

On an unrelated note: I have often wasted a few minutes musing about what if I had a b&b business catering to couples who no longer had sex? I’d have different rooms with a camera and script for them to follow. It would be a discrete operation with nurse(s) to guide the event. Some would call it sex therapy while I would merely refer to it as a couple’s encounter. If you can build on that concept or modify it and carry it out to fruition, we’d all like to know about it.

I’m lucky. My boss only displays two of those. He comes in when he wants and leaves when he wants. On occasion he won’t show up at all. It’s no sweat off my balls, I get paid the same either way and I’m responsible enough to be productive regardless of what my boss does. He’s too laid back IMO but that’s what happens when you are hands down the very best in the entire world at what you do.

I actually think he’s awesome and I’m grateful for it.

He’s Scottish and our big division boss is English. On the wall above my boss’ desk is a Scottish flag with a picture of that smarmy bastard Rab C. Nesbitt and the following two pictures:

I am the boss. I go in at the same time every day; half hour after opening and leave half hour before close. I have a two-hour commute (round trip) and worked 14 to 16 hour days every day the first three or four years we were up and running. If anyone doesn’t like how I set my own hours when I pay the bills and assume the risk then TOO. DAMN. BAD. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

How the hell did someone give Francis a thumbs down? It’s his business. He worked his ass off to get where he is. Employees are hired to help him run it, which he could do on his own if he hadn’t worked hard and built a business that he needed help with. The employees should be happy they have a job. The boss is the boss, not the employees. That’s something a lot of college snowflakes will learn when they get into the real world.

“Skype, baby! And internet.”

God how I wish I could do that. Nature of the business though. We do retail and some wholesale to other smaller businesses (I import a lot of my own product). My biggest customers (especially the retail guys) will only deal with me and I find that if I am not there on a regular/scheduled basis my sales slump. As good as my staff have been over the years (and I have had some great guys) they don’t see and go after opportunities like I do. My dream is that one of my kids will come and work with me and take over part of the company after they graduate. That would change everything. Both have an excellent work ethic and think along a similar vein to me. Dare to dream….

So, Norman, what you are saying is that you treat yourself with respect, like your own jokes, don’t think you are lazy and that you work the appropriate hours, don’t swear at yourself, and do not treat yourself in a sexist way.

Good job. You are a great boss to yourself.

Col Pangloss said he ended up in an extraordinary position where he was both the chief of one organization and he was also his own reporting official. He said his reports to his boss were the most cogent, clear and concise ever.

Unlike the large corporation I worked at for umpteen years, our new management has a corporate structure that is flat as a pancake. You might liken it to a family owned restaurant where the boss is highly visible and everybody is doing their job to keep you doing yours.

I notice I am at the top of one of my 6 year cycles, things are firing on all cylinders. I hope I can prep for the downswing but that’s the bad part about my black swan events; they are unpredictable even when I can time them.

I’m lucky because I’m self-employed and work at home. I’m contracted with a company in Washington, D.C., so I get a regular check from them, but I also freelance on the side. I do transcription and editing, mostly editing, working with news organizations. But I also work anywhere from 10 to 12 hours a day. I don’t make as much as I would out in the “real world,” but by working at home, I don’t need the gas and clothing money or money for lunches, snacks, etc. The only problem is you don’t see people as much as you would in another job, but I’m happy with what I’m doing. I’m my own boss. I can even where pajamas to work if I want to. I can also smoke on the job without any “looks” or bitching. 🙂

Definitely not that! I used to transcribe congressional committee hearings. Had to give it up. I thought I was going to have a heart attack because they pissed me off so much!

The company I’m contracted with does transcription and editing for multiple news organizations.

I freelance, like I said earlier, and have done a lot of work with Libertarian websites. Those are my favorites.

I would have to say banality.

We are all conditioned. Raise your hand to get a hall pass. First grade, second grade,..

The easy pass is to go along with the system. The hard route is to recognize we are products of nature and not machines. True human dignity and true freedom are by their nature rebellious acts.

The company I work for is family owned and in process of succession. The Son doesn’t really have his heart in it. Comes and goes. Mostly goes. Everyone knows that nature abhors a vacuum and so what has happened is others are rushing to the void. They have commenced the building of their own castles in the sand. I did the same for a while but have given up seeing how pointless it is. I will never own the company which in any case seems destined to be run into ground.

I work in the midst of an epidemic of disrespect. A close second would be guys saying shit like…

I did this and I did that.

Everyone is running around thinking they are the boss. No Captain is on the bridge. Friday the day started out with Boss 1’s phone call and hang up in my ear for something that wasn’t my fault in first place. Later Boss 2 stomps to doorway of my office and starts a conversation with

From now on…

Funny thing is he was upset about a mistake he made and was trying to blame on me. I proceeded explain using lloph advice and told him what I thought of his idea. He didnt like much what I told him.

Meanwhile the owner of the company is travelling to another province to chill on a boat and drink beer with his friends..

Might be time to find something else to do.

The smell test for any co-operation is mutual benefit. Taking money alone in exchange for too much loss of self expression, too much control of your your behavior, any forced acceptance of the bosses values/beliefs/principles/virtues different than yours fails that test and it stinks bad, real bad. That’s move on time.
