Dead Kennedy’s

Drinkin’ beer in the hot sun
I fought the law and
I won
I fought the law and
I won
I needed sex and I got mine
I fought the law and
I won
I fought the law and
I won
The law don’t mean shit
If you got the right friends
That’s how this county’s run
Twinkies are the best friend I ever had

Gotta say Motorhead is best version

Honourable mention to this one….

Alvin really belts it out and gives it all.

As a Gen X (1964) I hit my formative music years in the late 70s/early 80s so the Clash for me, although thanks for the Dead Kennedy’s one – I had never heard their completely anti-establishment version.

To be fair on a more-inclusive list, I found a version by Tom Petty, The Stray Cats, Hank Williams Jr., The Crickets, The Ventures, The Greatful Dead, Bryan Adams, The Pogues (with and without Joe Strummer of the Clash), Bruce Springsteen, Thug Murder, Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge, Roy Orbison, and several others on YouTube.

The one I couldn’t find was MOTORHEAD. Does anyone have a link or could you post one. I would love to hear Lemmy’s version.

I remember hearing that Lemmie version somewhere but can’t find it either. Weird. I will see if I can find it.

Here’s another…
