One of the things that is not appreciated, at least I have not full appreciated it, is just how lonely it is to think about the stuff we think about on this side of the intellectual universe. By that I mean, much of what is discussed here, for example, is never discussed at your office or your church or at social gatherings. When we can discuss this stuff with fellow travelers, it is in hushed tones and care is taken to make sure no one is listening in on the conversation. It’s the cost of having so much of reality made off limits to discussion.
It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. That’s probably the biggest value of events like AmRen and why our side needs to start cultivating Jacobin clubs, so the like minded can do this locally. It is refreshing to be able to sit at dinner with other people interested in the same material, going back and forth on something like black crime, without having to constantly look over your shoulder. At lunch on Saturday, Audacious Epigone pointed out that this is the only place on earth where we could have the sort of conversations we were having about social science data.
A good example of this is a conversation I had with a Jewish guy on Friday night. That’s right, there was a Jewish guy at AmRen. In fact, there were quite a few. Something almost no one knows or thinks about is that smart Jews are having the same debates among themselves about the roles of race and identity in Western society. My sense is that race is the trigger point. Smart Jewish guys grow up in nice safe middle class towns learning the egalitarian faith, only to get into the world and see the reality of race.
Just to get this out of the way, in case it is not obvious, I’ve always been on the side of Jared Taylor when it comes to who is white in America. His line about Jews is “They sure look white to me.” That becomes blazingly obvious when you talk to a conservative Jew about religion or race. Long before I came into hate blogging I knew this, having had this conversation with conservative Jews in the past. I’m also fine with people who think otherwise and are into the JQ. So are the Jews I met at AmRen.
It is at a thing like AmRen where you can appreciate just how oppressive and stupid our intellectual life has become in the West. There are few places on earth where a Jew and non-Jew can talk about something like racial identity or the realities of black life. The guy I was chatting with was like a lot of people I met at AmRen. He was bursting to talk about this stuff because you can’t do this anywhere anymore, other than in the comment sections of sites like this. We really are living in an age of madness.
If one is looking for the little green shoots, a place like AmRen is a good place to start. No where else in America can a guy like Richard Spencer have a jovial and thoughtful conversation with a Jewish guy about whether Jews fit into white identity. Spencer thinks Jews are a separate identity group and he thinks Jews will figure that out on their own and do their own thing. The Jewish guy in this case, is unsure, but that’s why he was sounding out Spencer on the issue. Try having that conversation on a college campus.
That’s where the optimism lies. In the fullness of time, the smart kids get to be right. That’s the lesson of history. The people who rule over us are trapped in a frenzy of purging anyone who notices anything about the world. They are systematically and aggressively estupidizing themselves, by driving off anyone with the temerity to ask a question. By herding all of the smart white guys into the Dissident Right, they are not saving themselves. They are creating the army that will destroy the prevailing order.
After attending something like this, it is easy to come back high on your own fumes and there is some of that with me. I know someone into lacrosse and every time he comes home from a tournament, he is sure lacrosse is about to sweep the nation. That’s never happening, but believing it keeps lacrosse from dying off. That’s the benefit of networking and socializing to these sorts of things. Being a biological realist is a lonely life at times. It helps to know that you are not alone in the struggle.
Even so, I’ve sat around with grad students at places like Yale and I’ve been around a lot of smart people in STEM settings. Often, the most striking feature is the oppressive lack of curiosity and the fear of saying the wrong thing. The core of Western civilization, dating to the Greeks, is smart people openly discussing the hard subjects of the day, trying to push the rock of humanity up the hill. That’s what’s happening on our side. On their side, it is struggle sessions and the slow boiling off their best assets. There’s the green shoot.
For a “blood and iron” White nationalist, Zman talks about his feelings and his social isolation a lot. I leave it to him to explain whether this article could have been written by an African-American living in Iowa upon his return from a recent BLM conference. Instead of discussing John Locke or Murray Rothbard, they discuss whether Jews are White? WTF?
So I ask everyone at TBP: shall the conservative/libertarian right organize itself around a cogent political philosophy and the principles of individual liberty, or around White Identity? It’s a serious question. I don’t think AmRen is any more harmful than the Rotary or Lions Club, but I’m not sure it’s any more helpful either.
You are either curious about the world you inhabit and learn all that you can about it while you are alive or you are content in your oblivion. Listening to those who have no curiosity tell you what you may or may not discuss is treason to yourself.
Seek out those who are curious and you’ll never run out of things to talk about.
If you are afraid to talk about your views, positions and convictions with other people maybe you should be reexamining your views and positions.
As for me, I fully believe I’m right in my convictions and have no trouble talking about them with others, either in public or on the internet.
I’ve found it far more productive to talk to others that don’t necessarily hold the same views I do to find out why they believe differently than to hide from them and talk only to others that hold the same beliefs.
Echo chamber conversations do little to bring truth into the matter of my thinking if and when I am in error.
Your premise worked a generation ago, when discussions of differing opinions took place in a more open environment, but today it’s not the same. There is too much animosity in the air and alternate opinions are no longer tolerated. We’re I to adjust my opinion to others around me, I to would become a Trump hater and longing for four more years of Obama. But that’s just me, not sure if your circle of friends are as intolerant as my circle.
Then why do I get away with doing it?
People are victims of their own fear of rejection more often than any intolerance on the part of part others.
Speak out and speak loudly, or find yourself slave to the opinion of others because you didn’t.
Some people possess temperaments that are comfortable with confrontation and vigorous, argumentative discussions. Others may hold beliefs just as strong, but are too stressed by conflict in general to present arguments well. They are better at using relationships to find ways to present and promote ideas.
Either way, you must be armed with facts, lots of facts, to undergird your position.
You get away with it because the people you associate with are either open minded or of like mind to your own.
Have you ever lived in an extremely predominant liberal community that tolerates NOTHING? Or perchance, have you ever lived in an “urban” environment with “urban” neighbors? How open were you with them?
Off/on topic. Have you ever read anything on the web that you remembered several months later, wanted to share it, searched your bookmarks to no avail, and after searching still not find it? I have, many times.
I read a short fiction years ago that I cannot find now about a fellow who had a pro-conservative bumper sticker on his car. At a stop light, a couple of liberal fanatics ( not Muslim) had just heard the exhortation from someone they listened to that told his followers to go out and kill someone who did not think like they think.
BOOM! A shot rings out, a non-descript car flees and a man is dead because of the bumper sticker on his car.
There are nuts out there. My wife and I try to practice the “gray man” or “gray woman” philosophy of not sticking out. We do not stick out in our appearance and we do not stick out in our “public” communication (by any method?
Why? The answer is obvious. We do not know who is in the car next to us.

You may have to shut your mouth at work but if you can’t express yourself around friends/family,either you have reprehensible views or you need to limit family time while finding new friends.
Thanks for all of your insight, I am the exception more than the rule. Moved from my home state about a year after taking my red pill. With most of my family upset Hillary lost and working on new friendships, I’m moving slowly and have already ruffled a few feathers, as it were. When I do share my thoughts, having a solid understanding of the facts is crucial, as ones intellectual worth goes up in others minds when the argument is well presented and backed up. I have found that MOST people are asleep, and get pissed off and don’t listen if you express an idea that is different from what they saw on Talmud Vision. Talking with them is like pissing in the wind or putting pearls before swine. There are only about 2 friends who I can discuss serious topics with. Just an observation, I have found talking to women is a total waste of time.

suz….you are correct; but, refreshing something I stated previously, talking to a woman who is a Registered Democrat about evil abortion, for example, is a waste of time for the majority. Same with other subjects.
IMO, they are very heavily influenced by their political affiliation and a lead shield is in front of their foreheads when you oppose their ‘Beliefs’.
I say ‘beliefs’ cuz every time I the situation occurs with me. I find they have zilch for knowledge on the subject, but they have this immense belief.

Had a very interesting conversation on race with a Sikh a few weeks ago. He sounded more like Dutchman to me than a brown guy from India with a turban on his head. 🙂 He’d just come back from Africa and had his eyes opened. We had a wonderful conversation about biology, culture, class, and assimilation as a result.
I have noticed that other cultures and races are happy to discuss what most whites fear to talk about. We are behind the curve intellectually in some ways. Glad to hear from Zman it is changing.
With regards to Jews he observes the same thing that people like me and JC Collins have observed – that their society is as fractured as ours. They are the micro to our macro. Where common purpose and ideology mesh bridges should be built. It was good to hear that was happening at Amren.
As hard a pill as it is to swallow, generally, generalizations are a poor way to make a statement or to base an ideal. There are many people of differing races who can read the writing on the wall, and believe in God, honor, family, community and such. Some also have the necessary skill set to help a community come out the other side of whatever our future holds. To shut these people out solely based on race could be the difference between life and death for you and your family. I judge a man by his actions and his character, not the color of his skin, or how he spells God.

I agree with much of the alt-right until they get around to excluding non-whites. That is a shameful and shortsighted view, based on my own personal, verifiable life experience.
A person’s heartfelt convictions about honor, fidelity, obligation and responsibility mean everything compared to skin color.

I haven’t seen a direct reply to Captain Willard’s question. Absent considerations of race solidarity, it is difficult to articulate a reason why immigration should be largely restricted to whites; yet failure to do so, I believe, will lead to the end of Western Civilization as we’ve known it. I therefore side with the race realists.

There is a meeting this week. The National Bikers Roundup 2017. I’m still awake because some just pulled into the RV park where we are temporarily staying since we sold our house.
It’s a small park. Several people live here as they are traveling workers. One is a traveling nurse. Some are retired and passing through. Now, I have no problem with bikers as a general rule. We’ve had our share of motorcycles. We just don’t ride anymore.
There is supposed to be a quiet time from 10pm till 7am. So they pull in at around 1130 and have made absolutely no attempt to be quiet. They have been unloading their bikes, revving them up and just being generally noisy. The camper next to me is a construction salesperson with his wife and a baby and toddler. If they are sleeping through this they must all have earplugs in. I did and I still heard them.
We’re leaving tomorrow to move to our property the country. We were going to wait till Saturday. But after we found out about the rally we decided to leave a few days early. I didn’t provide a link but you can google it. I’m typing on my phone. My husband is sleeping through all the noise. He’s not so patient with rude people. It would be a stressful situation.
Some people are estimating that as many as 40,000 will be here this weekend. Well. we’re outta here. I didn’t used to be like this. I think the whole “white privilege” thing pushed me over the edge.
What’s this have to do with the post? Well mainly that the people at Amren were well behaved.
These people don’t give a shit who they disturb. It’s all about them.
Two weekends ago we were visiting an area of Missouri where there is a high concentration of wineries. Two busloads of blacks from St Louis had made a day of it at one particular winery where we stopped in. I don’t think I have ever seen a more obnoxious bunch of people. (Until now) The workers and owners of the winery were obviously exasperated.
These are older middle and probably upper middle class people, I’m guessing, or deep in debt or drug money. I don’t know. They have expensive bikes, trucks, campers and toy haulers. The women…, oh my…big, loud, hands on hips…head bobbing.
Sorry for the rambling post/rant. There’s probably errors I’m not going to correct at 1:30 in the morning. I have to get up at 6ish. I don’t plan on being very quiet. I think I will yell and slam my camper door. If there isn’t any trouble this weekend it will be a miracle. I think the speedway owner is trying to upset the citizens of Grain Valley. But that’s another story.
