MY RESPONSE TO AMAZON

After this email I don’t expect Amazon to be changing their mind. I also don’t expect a response. I do hope some corporate asshole does read it. It felt good writing it. Thank you to all the generous readers who have shown overwhelming support with their donations in the last 24 hours.

I don’t know if a human reads these responses, but I wanted to let you know about the mistake you made. The verbiage above my Amazon button said that TBP would receive 6% of every sale on Amazon. TBP refers to The Burning Platform – my website. I was informing my readers that they would be supporting my website by buying through Amazon. It had nothing to do with offering incentives to others. Your misinterpretation of the language has had the following result:

I made a post which will be linked at the top of my site for the next week with a copy of your termination email.

https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/10/12/google-now-amazon/

I have already received donations totaling 2 months of Amazon fees in one day.

Please read the comments. I have 24,000 visitors per day. You have now lost thousands of customers who are now boycotting Amazon.

I have already replaced you with Wal-Mart. Your previous on-line revenues from TBP are now going to your competitor.

And now you have a lifelong enemy who will excoriate Amazon, WAPO, and Bezos for eternity. I’ve already posted two articles today which should do wonders for your brand.

BEZOS IS A SCUMBAG

“You’ll Love My Dick” – Amazon Suspends Video Chief After Sexual Harrassment Allegations

There are consequences to actions. I’m a little guy, but I really enjoy sticking it to corporate behemoths like Amazon. I’ll end up with more revenue than before. You will not.

WARMEST REGARDS

jim,
if they made a false claim in their letter to you it might be actionable–
why not run it by an attorney,i’ll bet that there are class action guys out there who are looking for just the right case with which to go after amazon–
they would have been better off to just not give a reason–

I already tried to use Walmart as much as possible for home deliveries instead of Amazon, and that was BEFORE they screwed you over.

Do we just click the link you replaced the Amazon one with to get you paid with affiliate dollars?

Coincidentally, I made my first online purchase from Walmart a few days ago. I bought a four-burner gas grill for $119.00. It’s a better grill than the last one I bought ten years ago for more money. They shipped it to me for free in 3-4 days. I had to put it together, but that was pretty easy and I did that inside while listening to REM’s Murmur for the first time in decades. I didn’t start drinking until the end. I just hope it fits through the patio door or I’ll be grilling in the living room. So, Walmart. Yeah.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Expert-Grill-4-Burner-Gas-Grill/120934419?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222228049155694&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=147093369792&wl4=aud-310687321802:pla-258466462299&wl5=9019672&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=120934419&wl13=&veh=sem

Any future Walmart purchases will come through TBP.

Well, shows there is a silver lining in a could after all!I would say tis more a matter of principal about going after jeff if a lawyer would take case on contingent basis, more bad publicity and all. That said, could be a battle that given their monies might be fatal to site and possibly yourself.

I still like the t-shirt idea and have even a few beginning thoughts as to a design, perhaps when time permitting you open a forum to design ideas and go for it,the only thing I ask is you give a shot at trying to sell them on the A!

I hope you could set up a big E affiliation, prefer them over wally world and feel wally world not usually the best price, that, and in wally world stores that still sell rifles they stopped carrying AR platforms due to public pressure, they lost monies with a lot of buyers over that one!

Excellent. For a some time now I have been linking the books mentioned in my articles through TBP’s Amazon link. Hopefully with your new Walmart tab, the same can be done. I just wish there was another way besides these corporate behemoths; but, for now, anything other than Amazon will do. May the fleas of a thousand camels suddenly infest themselves into the armpits of Jeff Bezos.

Start a Burning Platform store. Since you have so many daily readers, start with all used book stores in the country.

I still envision TBP merchandise emblazoned with something like this:

Hmmmm…..,uh,the t-shirt design needs work, gets a message out there but certainly not what I had in mind when mentioning t-shirt to boost the bottom line. That could be a project down the road but do believe a big E affiliation would boost bottom line almost immediately, holiday season coming up!

I do believe sidebar dedicated advertising while not making one rich with research could be a smaller but steady flow of ducats, done this way beats ad block but have seen done unobtrusively on sites and thus does not turn readers away which sites with popups and such or no reading without disabling adblock are death wishes for a site.

Hilarious!

If we weren’t all on a watch list before we most definitely are now.

How the worm turns. Walmart screwed Main Street and now we look to them to save what little is left.

Never bought anything from Bezos and now never will.

2x in the last few weeks i have started typing something into the google browser and a tbp article with a similar wording came up as an option so i just went to google and typed in amazon–
guess what 2 of the top 3 links were?this thread and last night’s amazon thread–
unless google is tracking me from website to website, this tells me that google does not have nearly the traffic that they claim–
even if every daily tbp visitor clicked on a particular tbp article,it should not be enough to drive these articles to the top of the search rankings unless far fewer people are using google and amazon than claimed–
have any of you had the same result?

I don’t use a google browser. Never even knew one existed. I don’t use Google search engine either. I do use several ad blockers and anti tracker apps. I’ve noticed that no matter what I search on or what websites I visit, I never see ads or search suggestions related to anything I’ve viewed or searched on. It’s quite nice actually. I do miss out on the big titty ads but my wife has big titties so it just don’t matter.

No disrespect intended, for you, your blog, or any of the readers here, but NONE of us should be doing business with Amazon anyway.

So, good riddance to them from this blog.

I find the product on Amazon and find the info. Then I google the part # and find it – many times – cheaper than Amazon. And since I’m in Minnesota, Amazon charges me sales tax – where the others don’t.

We are assembling our SWAT team and will arrive at your hovel shortly.

Oh, yes, Stucky gave us your address. We tortured him by reading AWB posts. He gave up your sorry ass after 1 minute 21 seconds.

See you soon. Oh, well shoot your fog if you have one. Just because we can. Evil doers like yourself must be taught a lesson.

The 2 things I use wally world for are oil change stuff(synth)and to get a friend say a extra box of ammo quick, prices are good on that unless you are looking for online case pricing(best),2 items that they won’t ship.I really am at a quandary in regards to anything else would buy there except perhaps good batteries decently priced and again for most part a no no ship.35 buck minimum for free shipping not bad but do remember 35 bucks in past could practically walk out with a good chunk of the store!I will say for those on meds out in country their generic prices great and will send em to your home,am thankfully in no need of such a service at moment.Does ordering online with in store pickup give the site a cut, might be good for some items folks want to know there/in stock before the trek off to wally world as some I know minumum 50+ miles from areas that have a wally world and thus shopping set up ahead of time to avoid wasted trips there and other big box home stores ect.
