The #MeToo Campaign Has Diluted The Credibility Of Actual Victims

Originally Posted at Free Market Shooter; Guest Post by Ben Isaac

An epidemic seems to have taken over the world of politics and entertainment, engulfing some of even the most influential and beloved personalities in the waves of mounting sexual assault allegations. Over the course of just the past few months, powerful influencers like Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer, and even politicians like Al Franken and John Conyers have been exposed as having varying levels of sexual impropriety with colleagues and subordinates, ultimately, for the most part, costing them their careers. However, a larger issue has taken the stage, and it’s blurring the lines on how we perceive sexual assault accusations.

Amidst the Harvey Weinstein debacle, millions of women, empowered by the recent spotlight shone upon women telling their stories, took to their social media accounts and shouted of their own experiences, all anchored by a common hashtag: #metoo.

The phenomenon took off as a result of a Tweet by Alyssa Milano, and within days it had become a centerpiece on headline news sites and channels. Unfortunately, the campaign has now ultimately resulted in more abject skepticism of what truly constitutes sexual assault. Even worse, it has blurred the line on what accusations and experiences have real merit, and which ones are fabricated for a chance to be a part of the campaign and spread the idea further.

Of course, this speaks to a much larger issue that real sexual assault survivors have become all too familiar with: The increasing difficulty to be taken seriously and get justice for their attacks. For too long the survivors of these heinous attacks have had their path to justice obscured by other women making false accusations in order to smear men who they might have a personal grudge against, or just want to see squirm for a while. The sad net result of these crimes has been diminished credibility for all accusers, even legitimate ones, and skepticism whether it’s warranted or not.

The reality is that feminists and liberals have put their own selfishness ahead of those who they say they are fighting for, just to score cheap political points and to have one more thing to put on their twitter tagline. This has now permeated into the political spectrum as well, bringing the Alabama Senate special election to center stage in recent weeks as Republican candidate Judge Roy Moore faces spurious accusations of misconduct with several women. Even famed victim advocate Gloria Allred had entered the spotlight, further publicizing the investigation and making it even more political.

However, there was one thing the accusers had not accounted for: Moore publicly refuted the claims, pushing back and even asking for evidence. Unsuprisingly, the accuser and Attack Dog, Esq. slowly shied away from the media attention they had just been feeding on.

The unfortunate truth is that liberals in their ever-growing craving for attention have done the impossible perverted even one of the most traumatizing experiences a person can endure, all in the name of pushing their political agenda. The reckless behavior has made it harder than ever for real victims to come forward, and yet these people who have spent their political lives claiming to be advocates for women and other victims have now been exposed for the selfish political charlatans they have always been. Sadly the lasting damage will lie with future sexual assault victims who will continue to face more and more obstacles in their struggle for justice.

Forcibly raped is a victim. Reticence, regret, isn’t.

Especially, in actor cases (maybe not all, but so much of the world’s a stage…), r&r due to making that trade & then not seeing it pan out the way it was hoped. Meryl Streep, who got what she hoped for, ain’t singing these particular blues. Not yet, anyway. Not that even an Oscar worthy performance could pull that off.

As for negotiating sexual terrain, de-sexing the places people spend proximal time is a safe-space edict, not the ongoing negotiation that is actual, real, life.

What I really find disconcerting is that with no way to verify which Me Too is truly a victim and which ones are just along for the attention.

Hell, let me correct my thinking… at this LATE stage of the victimization, it almost seems silly to assume there is any motive OTHER than attention.

I disagree.

I don’t have feelings one way or the other about the wisdom of this particular campaign, but all I can say is, it certainly sounds like victim-blaming when a call goes out for people to be counted, and when the number gets “too high” then somehow, SOMEHOW, the fact that many millions of women have been assaulted becomes a diluting factor (eh, no biggie) rather than an amplification (HOW many? holy crap!) of the message.

On one hand I don’t care how long ago any sexual harassment occurred as long as there is credible proof of said sexual harassment. If there is credible proof then fuck the dog.
I get it that a lot of women endured things they should not have to have endured because the cards were stacked against them. Suddenly it’s acceptable to speak out, a lot apparently.
I think of my daughter, my sisters, my daughter in law, my female friends and I know how pissed off to the point of violence I would be if one of them were groped, fondled, or put in a situation of rape.

Then on the other hand I know a lot of liberal/prog women who wholeheartedly believe the media, who automatically believe any accuser, who pass a guilty sentence as soon as a man is accused, who want to belong to the new club, who mistake a touch as sexual harassment, who think all whites are racist, who think incorrectly all the freaking time.

Thankfully I also know a lot of women who fear this is going to turn into a witch hunt and to also somehow define sexual harassment, good luck.

“Sexual harassment” can, and IMO often is, something almost every man is guilty of since it seems to include simply making a pass at a woman that rejects it.

There’s a huge difference between very common and normal heterosexual male behavior and what is implied on a level of actual assault or rape.

Something I think no one complaining about it is bothering to investigate to any real extent beyond headlining the claims.

If women want to be thought of and treated like men in the workplace let them start acting like men instead of being offended at normal men’s behavior.

Dare I say also, dress like men at the workplace. Not that I care if it were men’s or women’s attire, but the stuff I’ve seen women wear at the workplace would sometimes be better suited for the night club, etc. Then, they complain about being ‘objects.’ Jeez Louise, if you don’t want to be seen then put some clothes on.

It seems to me the popular culture celebrates sexual licentiousness in multiple flavors thanks to the wholesale promotion of moral relativity. Then when some misguided male decides to indulge in behaviors that are snickered at in multiple venues, and targets a woman who takes offense, he gets reamed. In addition, the cool guys like Clinton and Epstein get a tut-tut, while Roy Moore gets the full treatment. One can only dream of Gloria Allred bringing some victim of the Lolita Express in front of her beloved bright lights and cameras.

I don’t like Bill Cosby. I despise Al Franken and John Conyers. Cosby is a victim of gold digging whores and disappointed groupies. The other two are just sacrificial lambs . The Democrat Communist Party will retain their voting power, Franken and Conyers won’t really lose anything. Howeve, the commies can point to them and say (with great media support) the Republicans must do the same to Trump and Moore. It is all a set up.
Fuck’em.

^ This. If Hillary had won, none of this would have blown up. This story was stoked in order to pressure the “Harasser in Chief”. That it also serves as a weapon to try to steal an Alabama senate seat away from the Republicans is why the left are adding more fuel to the fire. If Al Franken doesn’t resign today (for the purpose of affecting the narrative on the Alabama race), then a week from today all of the democrat pressure on Franken to resign will abate. With the Alabama special election in the rearview mirror, there’s no “need” for Franken to resign. Also, no Dems would be calling on Franken to resign if Minnesota had a GOP governor to appoint the next senator.

When i was 15 i was molested by this 28 year old chick with marvelously huge titties. Her repeated abuse caused me to ejaculate explosively, bless her sainted heart.

Passing a line of massage shops on the way to meet a friend here in Bangkok I was sexually assaulted by a group of young massage ladies who surrounded me and grabbed my ass and private parts. They physically overpowered me and tried to pull me into one of the shops for a massage. I tried to reason with them as best I could due to the language issue explaining that I had dinner reservations etc. and they finally let me go. I was shocked but returned for further abuse after dinner and drinks. A happy ending to a pleasant evening after all!

This was certainly no crime in the 1970s and 1980s.

Today your sexually generous 28 year old chick would be clapped in leg irons.

Raise your hand if you want to birth and raise a [white] baby in this toxic class-struggle climate.

Special victims and the domestic violence racket don’t encourage white people reproduction.
