The Mormon church is ending its 105-year relationship with the Boy Scouts of America at the end of next year.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) and BSA announced their intention to part ways on Dec. 31, 2019, in a joint statement released Tuesday night.

The LDS Church said it has grown from a “U.S.-centered institution” to an international organization whose members mostly live outside of America’s borders. Therefore, it said it needs to start its own youth program that “serves its members globally.”

Although the statement did not address it, the announcement comes less than a week after the BSA announced the organization will change the name of its Boy Scout program to Scouts BSA.

Until the end of 2019, the church said it will remain a “fully engaged partner” in the BSA’s program for boys 8-13. Despite the pending separation, the church said it “continues to support the goals and values reflected in the Scout Oath and Scout Law and expresses its profound desire for Scouting’s continuing and growing success in the years ahead.”

The church plans to “replace all existing activity programs for girls and boys, young women and young men in 2020.”

“For years, Church leaders have been preparing a new initiative to teach and provide leadership and development opportunities to all children and youth, to support families, and to strengthen youth everywhere as they develop faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” the church said in a statement to its members Wednesday. “This new approach is intended to help all girls and boys, young women and young men discover their eternal identity, build character and resilience, develop life skills, and fulfill their divine roles as daughters and sons of God.”

The Mormons are claiming the moral high ground… yet in reality they abandon/expel thousands of teenage boys so the old guys can have the pick of the young women.

Pretty sure that’s just the small splinter groups (the Warren Jeffs types) that didn’t ditch polygamy when the mainline Mormons ditched it sometime 100+ years ago (on account of its being illegal).

the mainliners ditched it as a condition of utah becoming a state–
remember that the next time some govt entity in the usa wants to put restrictions on some religion & people scream freedom of religion–
you know, like maybe female genital mutilation or child marriage,or some other such enlightened practice–

A deluded religion severing ties with a deluded organization.

That’s funny.

I thought this was going to be because the Scouts just started letting in girls. If it were that, I’d have tipped my hat to the Mormons. Aside: the Mormons’ infinite regression of gods concept promises that I’d eventually get to start my own universe with my wife as co-god. Like I’d fucking want that.

If I understand what I’ve been told by Mormons, a woman needs the permission of her husband to enter heaven.

I suppose that’s a good way to keep their women under control.

Mormons are money driven…..period. At least the leadership is. The adherents are brainwashed useful idiots.

I’ve told it before but my father used to work for a company that did a lot of work for mormons and he had hats, shirts, coffee mugs, lighters and other swag made to give away. The mormons would never accept the lighters as they were “cigarette” lighters and verbotten by da leadership. So, my father had the next run made with the usual logo on one side and the words “Fire Storage Device” on the other. They immediately became the most requested bit of swag he handed out. Three little words made it ok to possess the very same “cigarette” lighter. Praise Jeebuz.

Not long ago it was against church doctrine for adherents to drink Coca Cola. Then, da leadership began investing in Coca Cola and buying up Coke distributers. Miracle of fucking miracles it became ok for adherents to have a Coke and a smile. Praise Jeebuz.

There will only be three Mormon Scout merit badges. 1) How to wash and press black slacks and white shirts. 2. How to ride a bicycle. 3. How to convert the unwashed.

You fuckin idiots. Rather than accept a partial win in an outlying battle of a major civil war all you can do is trash the Mormons. I usually have much greater respect for most comments here but you dickheaded oafs act like a bunch of inbred liberals that cant stomach the thought of anyone other than you doing something that might make a difference in the culture wars.

The BSA cut their throat when they started allowing gays, then trannies, then girls. How many of you stupid nearsighted fucks made comments about how you hoped they would fail/ implode/ get sucked up by some universe sized vacuum never to be heard from again? Well here it is, the answer to your prayers, or oaths or curses or whatever you dumbfucks care to call them and you spit in the face of whatever god or gods is bringing it to you!

Jesus H Christ you imbeciles piss me off sometimes! When you are in a battle and you are getting the living shit kicked out of you by the liberal/ women/ deep state/ fascists/ what-the-fuck-evers you dont turn away the slightest bit of help that can advance your cause or shield your sorry ass from incoming fire or distract the enemy from your furtive nefarious plans! What the fuck is wrong with you assholes?!?

Full disclosure: I was raised Mormon and married in one of the temples, twice! If anyone on this godforsaken blog knows what they are like its my dumb ass! You fucks are talking out of your asses with stupid fucking comments like ‘ have to give a wife permission’ and ‘send out all the young men… blah blah blah’ bullshit! Bullshit I say!

Of course the Mormons have corrupt elements to them, money grubbing dipshits, closeted fags and child abusers, wife beaters and general police type individuals in their religion/ cult/ business/ masonic lodge/ whatever. Its probably statistically impossible to NOT have them in a worldwide organization with millions of members/ cash cows.

Who the fuck cares?!? Take the victory and run with it. Build on it you stupid bastards! Dont swat it away because it comes from an ideologically impure source! Fight them later after the real evil has been beaten! What are you all, baby boomers? For fucks sake. And you are generally people that I like! Thus endeth my rant. If you dont like it you can go fuck yourself!

Don:
Liked your post. I had great respect for the LDS guys I served with. Loyal, patriotic, pulled more than their weight. Also good to have back in states as dedicated drivers. However, in 2016, I began to have second thoughts prov9ked by Mitt Romney and the antics of “Egg McMullen”. The well deserved disafilition with the scouts have redeemed them. In spite of the back stabbing DJT carried Utah and Idaho in fine fashion. I worry about the migration of California types to those states in the near future.

” I worry about the migration of California types to those states in the near future.”

Worry now! Southern Idaho is overrun with the vermin, especially Kalifornians. Mormons own the former Treasure Valley but they are not nearly as fucked up as the Kali Kommies who try to turn Idaho into the shithole they just left.

“Take the victory and run with it.”

What victory? It’s a total loss for all involved. And for the record, plenty of bitching about the BSA took place when they first cut their own throats.

Scouting was fucking awesome when I was a kid even for a miscreant like myself. My wife and I still work with various scouting groups through our local astronomy club but I’m growing tired of it because the parents are worse than the kids. Lord Baden Powell should be turning in his grave.

I don’t think anyone has much good to say about the Mormons and for plenty of good reasons. They’re called heretics and grifters and their attitudes towards non-Mormons puts any Jew to shame.
Thus, this “news” about the magic underwear people and the He/She Scouts isn’t really a big deal.

What should be talked about is who infiltrated the Boy Scouts. These changes have been done for one reason- to destroy another institution once considered a vibrant part of American culture. That is their sole and only purpose. The people who took over, who direct it, and who they are associated with should be the news and should have been a long time ago. I bet it would be amazing to outline the web of associations of deceit in this whole deal. I’d say the kingpins in the Scouts Leadership are associated with the elitists and their supposed penchant for Satanism and perversions. The good news is all of these Globalist people are very out in public and they love to flash their little symbols. Some day, society as a whole will say, “We see who you identify as by your use of symbols, and now we have someone like Vasily Blokhin to deal with you.”
(Vasily Blokhin was the Soviet NKVD Chief Executioner who personally shot EVERYONE in the Katyn Forrest Massacre. He took 28 days to kill all of the 7,000 slaughtered there. He’d shoot about 250 a day, 1 every 3 minutes for a 10 hour shift, then get good and drunk with his subordinates who dealt with the corpses.)

Just remember, Vasily Blokhin was a Jewish Bolshevik. Likely of the same tribe as those who are screwing up the Boy Scouts, etc.

And, my personal experience with Mormons has been positive. They do think ahead, and will help those who wish to prepare for the unknown in these interesting times. Don Murphy, above, tells it like it is! I hope the Mormons set a trend among other church sponsors of what was a great organization. (I have one son and two grandsons that are Eagles.)

Blokhin was an animal and killed himself after he fell out of favor. He’s probably one of Satan’s head coal-stokers down in Hades.
I used to hear stories about the Mormons who lived on the Utah-Arizona border from my uncle Buck who lived out West; he ran a restaurant in St. George, Utah, and another time had a restaurant in Kanab, Utah. He was always telling stories about the people out there (Mormons) and my favorite character was Sam Barlow. He was a county sheriff, a Mormon bishop, and had 13 wives, all of whom were on welfare.
Anyhow, my uncle said he could always spot polygamists a mile away. We were in the Russell, Kentucky K-Mart store back in 1978 when he was home for a visit. He said,” Hey, hey lookee there at them!”, and pointed out this small group of woman wearing long dresses and real heavy looking stockings. They all wore their hair in a bun, and were very plain looking.
He exclaimed ,” Those are polygamists RIGHT HERE!” My grandmother asked him,” How in the hell can you tell they’re Mormon polygamists?” Uncle Buck then said,” Well the long dresses and hair buns are a good sign, but I nailed it when I saw one pulling her magic underwear out of the crack of her ass!”
My grandmother and my own mother, both Episcopalians, lost it right there and got a good laugh out of it.

I have never had anything other than good experiences with LDS folks. I have never understood why they buy the whole Moroni story, but people believe in democracy and equality and both of those faiths are equally strange, so you gotta give people space.

I live a little neighborhood of seven homes. Everyone is Mormon except my family. They are very conservative and are a generally friendly bunch of people. They have some weird religious views, but I have had no problems with them. Overall, they are the best neighbors that I have ever had.

The Scout will be changing their name to the HSA in 2025 . That’s the Hermaphrodite Scouts Of America…for the gender fluid folks .

I suppose they’ll have a merit badge soon in “Screwing Up An Organization ” .

My girlfriend’s kid just got his Eagle Scout….she’s glad she’s done with them.

Thank you folks for the generally positive comments, especially rocky’s slow clap! I no longer attend church with the ‘Saints’ as they tend to refer to themselves (if you couldnt guess from my highly fluent use of colorful language).

I think the LDS church has gone to great lengths to snatch infamy from the jaws of honor and respect. I actually do agree somewhat with indentured on that count, but Jesus man, lighten up a bit, eh? The ‘Scouts’ are dying the institutional death they so richly deserve and the Mormons plunged the knife in firstest and deepest so far. We should give them at least a golf clap for that.

Thank you, I’m here all week! Also, I.S. I have some astronomy questions, would you be willing to point me in the right direction? Let me know here if so and we can hook up for snuggles off site, maybe admin would be willing to introduce us?

The comment about all kinds of people in a large enough organization is spot on. I’ve seen both:
When I moved to Utah for graduate school the first place I stayed was in a hostel run by a Mormon family. They were of Portuguese extraction, one was the entrepreneur who owned the hostel. When he found out I couldn’t afford to stay in the hostel for long he moved me in with his PARENTS in their home (spare room) for less. When he found out I could do 110V power he paid me to wire up some projects (lights, mostly) for him. I felt bad about living in his parents’ home (they never said a word about it) and when I moved out he was sad to see me go.
My next apartment was sharing with a Mormon guy Jeremy, their opposite. He had done time in prison (I found out later) and had lost custody of his kids to his ex. He disappeared one day; I found out from his parole officer that he had borrowed money (from the parole officer), and was asked to advise the parole officer when he returned. I found out (while trying to look for him) that Jeremy didn’t work where he had said he did; then the landlord asked when was I going to pay the past due rent? I said I gave Jeremy the money to pay it, and the landlord said he never got it, but if I would pay up he would waive the late charge. Talking with the landlord, I found out he’d not only lied to me, but lied about me to the landlord, and I could get the lease on the apartment changed into my name. I did, paying the full rent instead of my half and wondering if Jeremy was lying in a ditch somewhere.
Jeremy showed up again three days later, with a gal named Cheyenne he met in Reno, where he’d been gambling. I locked the door and kept him out. He flashed a wad of cash, and was quite surprised when I told him to keep it, I wasn’t interested in living with him any more. His stuff went to the thrift stores that week; I didn’t want any of it. He disappeared again, this time for good.
There are good Mormons and weak Mormons; I’ve seen (and lived with) both. I imagine that’s universal, in every group and organization you can name. I work with Mormons in my weekend gig now, and they are as nice a bunch of folks (unlike Jeremy!) as you can find anywhere. I just wish Mitt had stayed out, but since he did NOT win his nomination at the Utah Republican caucus last month I think there’s still some hope.
