Crank it up to eleven. The intense hearing—that is still ongoing—between members of the House Judiciary Committee and disgraced FBI Agent Peter Strzok. Mr. Strzok engaged in an extramarital affair with former FBI lawyer Lisa Page. They sent tens of thousands of texts, almost all of them anti-Trump.
Strzok was involved in two key FBI investigations, the Russia investigation and the Hillary Clinton email probe, and this bias has been the subject of controversy within the halls of the FBI and the Department of Justice. The whole hearing has been combative, a delicious circus with Republican members leveling legitimate criticism as Strzok, dotted with Democrats interrupting lines of questioning, and desperately trying to pivot to other issues. It’s a circus. It will go down as a great day in political theater.
Yet, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) decided to go there this afternoon, mentioning his affair with Page, which drew loud objections from Democrats.
“You’ve embarrassed yourself, and I can’t help but wonder when I see you looking there with a little smirk, how many times did you look so innocent into your wife’s eye and lie to her about Lisa,” Gohmert said to Strzok—and then all hell broke loose (via Washington Examiner):

“Mr. Chairman, this is outrageous!” one Democrat shouted.
“Do you need your medication?” a female Democrat shouted at Gohmert.
Strzok said repeatedly during the hearing that he was communicating private political opinions with Page, and that they do not reflect a bias in his investigatory role. He also fired back at Gohmert for bringing up his relationship with his wife.
“I assure you under oath … I have always told the truth,” Strzok told Gohmert. “The fact that you would accuse me otherwise, the fact that you would question whether or not that was the sort of look I would engage with in a family member who I have acknowledged hurting goes more to a discussion about your character and what you stand for.”
The discovery of Strzok’s messages with Page resulted in his 2017 removal from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of possible Trump campaign collusion with Russia.
There was another melee, though more grounded in a procedural fight, when House Judiciary Committee chair Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) threatened to hold Strzok in contempt when he refused to answer a question relating to the Russia investigation.

Strzok has remained employed by the FBI, though he was transferred to the human resources department after his removal from the Mueller probe. He still has a security clearance.

What I noticed about Strzok immediately is that he is sanpaku; you can see the whites of his eyes underneath the cornea. From wikipedia: For thousands of years, people of the Far East have been looking into each other’s eyes for signs of this dreaded condition. Both he and Page are both liabilities…….whether they understand it is a horse of a different color.

The things the Leftists defend is always interesting at the least.

Lisa Page was subpoenaed to appear before the congressional committee on Wednesday. She ignored the subpoena. Has she been arrested for contempt of congress?
It is all a show. Nothing but a big, noisy show. All the Congressmen can now say they did something about it. And each dumb-ass American can keep whatever biased view they have of the whole thing in tact.
We are completely fucked.
I take a little different view. Trump and his allies in the Congress are considerably more clever that I had believed. Trump and his buddies are helping the swamp creatures and their allies to expose themselves. After the majority of the American people are made truly sick by seeing, over-and-over-again, the swamp creatures for what they truly are, then the indictments and trials will work. It’s too early now for the corruption trials. If the trials were held now, many Americans would still believe Radical Madcow when she says that the trials are a political witch hunt.
After seeing Strozak for what he truly is, televised over and over again, most people will not only be willing to deliver a guilty verdict, but probably be also willing to help build the scaffold and arrange the rope. If Strozak had acted humble and contrite, he would be untouchable. He is too arrogant for that.
Lisa Page is falling into the same trap. By ignoring the subpoena, she is delivering a big FU to the American people and the Congress we elected. She is saying, “I am in the FBI, and the FBI is not answerable to the Congress you elected and the President you elected.” Rosenswartz is falling into the same trap, also.
Yeah, most of the big fish will never do time, never go on trial, and probably never be indicted. Sure, you betcha, there are two justice systems, one for most of us and a special one for the big people. I don’t like it, but that’s reality. However, they will be so thoroughly exposed to the light of day, they will be ruined forever.
The little fish will do prison time and also be ruined for life. After Strozak exposed himself on TV, do you imagine him getting a job above the security guard level after he leaves prison?
Nathan, I definitely see Strzok getting a good job if he protects the highers ups. He’ll be paid well, just as Comey was paid well and held high positions while doing Hillary’s bidding.
Being exposed to the light of day does little. There have been many exposed to the light of day and nothing ever happens. I seem to remember Church hearings that made absolutely no impact in the end. Then there was Iran-Contra, with plenty of big fish to fry, but no one ended up in the pan. I see this going nowhere.
If I had my way, they’d all swing. But as many have said, it’s all bread and circuses.
