Do you know how much “FREE” healthcare for all would cost?
The Mercatus Center does. And their study has revealed that a “Medicare for all” plan would increase government health care spending by $32.6 trillion over 10 years.
$32 Trillion! … that’s how much “FREE” costs.
Government intrusion (often welcomed by crony corporations) has ruined the healthcare industry in America.
The idea that government needs to go all the way with “FREE” care is preposterous, and deadly.
The solution is in the opposite direction. Get government OUT of healthcare, and return it to the free marketplace.

The only sense in which goobermint should be involved is to use anti-trust laws to break up the healthcare cabals.
Their intrusion into the marketplace, their protectionism, their massive regulatory state, etc. helped CREATE and SUSTAIN the cabals. Get them out, allow REAL competition from everyone, and the cabals will fall on their own.
The fact that that’s not happening is why we’ll probably get Medicare for all.
From what I’ve heard Ocasio-Cortez is advocating taxing the super rich to make them pay for medicare for all.
Wonder how long that would last before the money was gone and it would be necessary to look somewhere else for it?
I think the “super rich” don’t actually have as much total cumulative money available as most people who are jealous of them think they do.
When we run out of OPM, we can have Ocasio-Cortez “workin’ on her back”. But I don’t know who would want to hit it.
Stop it Ron, you make too damn much sense! Chip
I don’t want to read this stuff. I want free shit and I want you to pay for it.
I don’t like this article. I want my money back.
Notice many outspoken people regarding health care for all as some sort of assurance or insurance sponsered thru government taxpayer funded program is a bad idea are the ones who have a government taxpayer subsidized health insurence for themselves and family .
I have no problem with a pay as you go plan but taxing you me or the guy behind the tree so a government employee gets a group health insurence plan for an out of pocket price that no average tax paying citizen could get for the same out of pocket price is absolutely a failure of equal protection under the law . Same coverage same price for all
Pretty damn good argument. Let’s see if anyone refutes. How could they? What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
I met an army guy today. I told him my daughter is in the process of applying for the Air Force. He said if she stays at least 120 days before a discharge, she will get healthcare for life, free education and can get va loans.
While government involvement is a bad idea. Our so-called free market idea of needing insurance is unaffordable for most people.
Remember it was doctors and hospital management groups that introduced health insurence with insurence companies to help reduce their bad debts ( patients that could not pay ) ! Now who controls who gets paid what gets paid for and how much , generally number crunchers not health care on a cost plus or minus basis !
