This is where they should send the fool from the Weather Channel who gave the fake weather report on Florence. Make him stand out on the seawall in Hong Kong for an hour. That will cure his need to embellish his weather reports.

Typhoons in the pacific are much stronger than Hurricanes in the Atlantic. As an example of my experience with typhoons in December 1997 I was living on the Island of Rota in the Northern Mariana Islands when Typhoon Paka came through. The Island of Rota is 26 miles north of Guam. It first side swiped Guam blowing the wind recorder off it’s perch at Anderson Air
force Base. This wind recorder had a max scale of 220 MPH. Then it bounced around in the Rota channel before the eye came over us. For about 15 to 20 minutes everything was dead still. Then when the eye passe it was pure chaos.

Wikipedia never recorded the true force of the winds. It was a wild ride.

Just my 2 cents
