I think this one I saw many years ago. It was a penned buck – if so, and the photographer had applied deer scent, buck urine ? which would incite competition/territorial defence behavior.

I may have had hoof prints on my chest and face, but if that had been me that buck would have died of stab wounds. Laying on your back and waving your hands at him seems like a really poor solution to the immediate problem.
