A Wip Wondering

I wonder which one has had the biggest affect in history.

1) Talent Stacking
2) Laser focusing on 1 talent

Commenters on the Talent Stacking thread…

“Fuck that Talent Stacking shit”.
“I’m the most aggressive fucker on the planet”.
“I force everyone to suck my dick”.

Alright, alright. Calm down. I ad-libbed a little bit.

It turned a little sour over the word “aggression”. Only on The Burning Platform.

DRUD had the best answer for the word “aggression”. Go read it.

Those who can, do. Those who can’t, talent stack?

What inventions were produced with talent stacking?

Actually, there may be plenty.

depends upon the objective–
2 sharp young guys just out of college who both go to work 4 the same corp as salesmen–
guy 1 has a desire to rise to the top & become prez of the company–he needs to become very good at what he does but he also needs to be a generalist–
guy 2 quickly realizes that even though he can make good $ as a salesman, the corporate life isn’t 4 him & he & his wife decide to become real estate investors so that they can check out of the rat race by 40–he needs to focus on nothing but making sales —

1) Talent Stacking = Renaissance Man (or, woman)

2) Laser focusing on 1 talent = One Trick Pony

Never, ever, become a One Trick Pony.

I think many of the greatest achievers wee so damn brilliant, they excelled in any field they encountered. Others , like Einstein, seemed specialized, although he had a range of talents, but apparently lacked interest. Edison, Newton, Franklin, Washington, Michaelangelo, Da Vinci, etc were multitalented, multiskilled.

So, based on a quick consideration of men who shaped history, I think more were multi-talented than were simply laser focused on one field.
