I Am Definitely Not Saying That I Agree With This

And I am not even saying that I understand it all that well, but I did make my living explaining technical things to artists using graphs.  This one really intrigues me.

I saw it on Tim Pool today and hunted down the article, which is here if you care to look.

https://www.voterstudygroup.org/publications/2016-elections/political-divisions-in-2016-and-beyond

What intrigues me is that in 2016 conservative people, at least those who Identified as conservative were far more centrist than those who identified as liberal.  And of those identifying as liberal, the vast majority in this data set were hard over communists.  This while the trump voters seemed to be quite spread out over the economic dimension.  You see lots of red dots both to the left and the right of zero.  You see very few blue dots on the right side of the zero line.

I admit that I don’t really know anything about this data set and I don’t know anything about the voter study group.org, but if these questions were posed even close to properly, and there is no way of knowing if that is the case, then 2016 revealed the communist takeover of the democratic party.

I would say that this makes a lot things that have been going on make a lot more sense.

My take is
1. The US is polarized, look at the density of Red Vs Blue
2. It explains elected Socialist’ behavior, driving identity politics, ginning up social justice
3. Explains Trumps ‘jobs’ and ‘borders’ themes for the center red voters

Also why ‘IYI’ (Intelligent Yet Idiot) Liberals can’t handle facts.

I’ve been watching Tim for a couple of years, so I feel I know his basic principles and practices.

His strength is being Everyman on the street; mingling, walking, talking, observing, watching, filming. Going where the news is happening and getting into the middle of it.

BUT he has taken to making political and moralizing videos in his living room in New Jersey, sometimes 4 or 5 a day. Tim’s gone off-track into a realm that he isn’t very good at. I like this source chart of his even less. I mean why the fuck is he even analyzing this kind of dross when he could be in England or Sweden or Ecuador with his boots on the ground?

I hope he snaps out of it and goes back to the street reporting he’s good at.

Rubbish;
There is no real difference between the parties. They have the same agenda, just different paths to getting there.

Rob,

I made a two sided sign I carried to TEA Party rallies in 2009/10/11 that drove Lefty’s wild. It was also extremely popular with many likeminded people who like me, came out to make a stand.

Then I had custom made bright pink bumper stickers, with black lettering, with the same phrase made. When Lefty’s pull behind me in the city at red lights I can often see their faces get red in the rear view mirror after they read it. I have even had one person angerly point to it and other person next to them read it and both of them acted pissed off.

The sign (now in my barn) and the bumper stickers simply says:

A SOCIALIST IS JUST A PROGRESSIVE IN A HURRY.
A COMMIE IS JUST A SOCIALIST IN A HURRY.

4th Turning, civil war imminent. Don’t pretend that there are not very fundamental differences in viewpoint among Americans (and the 40M illegal aliens). While the uniparty in DC attempts to rule the above simmering pot, DJT was and still is a shock to the system…just as one would expect as we get closer to kinetic conflict.

Notice the color density.
It shows “red” voters as being somewhat more centrist as the “blue” is much more concentrated in the extreme and more dispersed across the graph. That pretty much affirms my perception that Trump voters might be more financially well-off, moderate in their outlook, and more morally conservative than the libtard voters.

I’m with you. A quick glance at the chart and deciphering of the two clusters shows the reds more centrally located while the blues are off in a corner. That view alone seems to coincide with the ‘pubs having a greater breadth of “values” about a norm while the dims are off in a corner with their “values”.

The translation to behaviors demonstrated by each group is seen daily, the most recent being the various interpretations of the Mueller report. The dims seem to see only one message: impeachment. The ‘pubs take a somewhat broader view along the lines of “ho-hum”?

Graphing, like statistics, can be misleading and easily manipulated. It might be interesting to see the chart on a semi-log or even a log-log scale. Or to somehow strip out the cross-over voter.

Disclaimer: I did not read the article.

To define liberalism is not difficult, but to define conservative is a whole other kettle of fish. A better way to present the various mindsets might be to ask “Do you favor small government or big government?” I’d have to think that all liberals favor big government and a whole lot (most) of conservatives do as well. In the end if big government has only gotten bigger and thus so destructive of society that things collapse, what the hell does it matter if conservatives are a bit more sensible but not sensible enough to make a particle of difference?
