“Dystopian Approach”: SEC Blesses MasterCard’s Idea Of Cutting Off Customers With Right-Wing Views

Via ZeroHedge

Blocking payments to individuals or groups by financial service firms impedes freedom of speech in a free society, journalist Ben Swann has told RT, following reports that MasterCard is allegedly on course to censor the far-right.

The New York-based firm is reportedly being forced by left-leaning liberal activists to set up an internal “human rights committee” that would monitor payments to “white supremacist groups and anti-Islam activists.”

“The problem is that everyone has their own views and, in a free society, the idea of a free society is that you are free to have your belief systems, as long as you’re not harming anyone else physically,” Swann told RT America.

“But your belief system belongs to you and you have the right be wrong. White supremacists have the right to be wrong.”

MasterCard is not the only holder of purse-strings that is mulling the selective banning of individuals from their services and funds. Patreon and PayPal have previously barred individuals from receiving payments using their platforms, due to their extreme views.

But unlike crowdfunding platforms, being cut off from one of the leading American multinational financial services corporations will, most likely, have a much greater impact on the financial stability of an individual or a group, especially after the US Securities and Exchange Commission reportedly blessed MasterCard’s undertaking.

By doing this, Swann believes the government granted “big corporations the ability to control what voices are heard.”

The issue with such an approach, the investigative journalist argues, would lead to a wider crackdown on financial payments to anyone who the government would see as unfavorable.

“The fact that the SEC has given a green light to this essentially says the SEC supports the idea of censoring these groups in order to freeze out essentially anyone you don’t agree with,” the journalist said.

“It is such a dystopian 1984 world view and yet we’re living through it right now,” the journalist observed.

Combined with the ‘cashless society,’ this should work great for normal people: they’ll get to starve.

We need our own Credit Unions and our own credit card and our own payment processor.

At a certain point, it’s just going to be easier to kill these people than try to deal with their endless conniving and backstabbing.

Covington’s NAR is looking more viable with every day that passes.

There will not be a Cashless Society.
25% of Americans don’t have bank accounts. You already can’t get a CC without one.

The reason people don’t have bank accounts is mostly because they’re blacklisted after proving unable to stop overdrawing and such. Someone with an IQ south of 90 is unlikely to be able to handle a checking account…or a credit card. (CC firms have products for people who can’t control themselves…they’re largely prepaid cards.)

There is essentially zero chance of a cashless society in any relevant time frame.

The Bill of Rights (supposedly) prevents government from destroying basic human rights that are supposedly “unalienable.” But when government helps create virtual monopolies throughout the economy in all of the critical areas required for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, it creates a mechanism through which it can violate ALL of these rights in one way or the other, simply by leaning on the monopolies it has created/protected. The most critical is the banking cartel/monopoly.

“The issue which has swept down the centuries and which will have to be fought sooner or later is the people versus the banks.”

What’s with the “You have a right to be wrong” bullshit. Who’s to say what’s right or wrong when it comes to political or ideological views? You are either free to believe what you want or you are not. And companies are either free to offer their service to whomever they like for what ever reason and IT GOES BOTH WAYS.

Vote with your dollars. Nobody and I mean nobody needs spergbook/twatter/goolag/etc. read a book, write one, but stop worrying about what a bunch of people who are always going to hate you no matter what you do are up to. You’re talking about something else altogether. When that time comes then there are other tactics. I’m also focusing on strategy. The constant adjustment to whatever new roadblock they pt up is predicated upon us remaining in denial of what we ought to be doing and instead to keep pretending that as long as it doesn’t directly affect us it’s best to keep everything on the down low.

And FWIW I see actions like this as a sign of weakness, not strength. I think they know which way the wind is blowing or they wouldn’t be pulling out all the stops. After all the truth is a very compelling force to have to fight against all the time, it must very incredibly difficult when you have so many people coming around all at once.

I have studied history, most of my life, that was why I made the observation.

Tell us the eventual outcome of all those tyrannies once they begin down this road.

People can be held together as a common culture through three means- conquest (resource expansion), commerce (resource surplus), and fear (resource failure). If there are any others you can think of point them out, but most fall into one of those three categories. The most successful societies begin with expansion, rest when the have availability and begin to fail when they try to control during failure. Our system is larger and far more complex than any other in human history, but it’s age of expansion is long over and it is on the road to resource depletion. The factors that further weaken it is it’s complete abandonment of it’s foundational genetic stock as well as its embrace of outside invaders as a replacement. Those replacements are in their expansion phase and will- within a generation- wrest control from the political elites of today, hence an end to their control. That’s why they are doubling down daily on their surveillance/censorship path of control to maintain power. This state always signifies the collapse phase of a culture.

It’s not the eventual outcome that matters here. The tactics for creating a totalitarian state are consistently the same. Those individuals pushing for the creation of said state aren’t looking at the end result, they are looking for personal gain and control acquired as quickly as possible.

Thank you HSF – I have been making this point for the last several days regarding Facebook banning some users. They are a business – like MC. They clearly spell out in their terms that they will use your data for profit and that any user can be kicked off at any time. Most don’t take the time to read (and their TOS is just a few pages of plain language, not legal language) and are now crying foul after the fact. There are alternatives and, even better, a life without that brain-dead, damaging and manipulative environment.

I disagree with the policies and would not suggest businesses place those types of demands/restraints on customers. I think it is self-defeating to intentionally alienate customers. They will dig their own graves and in a country like the U.S., it will not be long before an entrepreneur recognizes the stupidity and creates an alternative or adapts a current alternative – or people forget about it and use something else.

It’s a betamax move – “use our stuff, our way or go away”. OK, there is this thing called VHS…see ya!

Why do so many people forget about what happens when those kind of demands and limitations are placed?

There have been tons of betamax moves in history. They always fail rather quickly.

What is the numerator for stock purchases?
Dollars/share.

As share prices skyrocketed, what did the dollar do in response. FELL.

Dollars are already depreciated after nearly 40 years of a credit bubble inflation.

When debt prices start down, my guess is that cash will be the ultimate asset to own for a period of time. It will be the only physical way to express ownership of money. Bank accounts may get “bailed in,” and bonds and stocks may drop in value, and commodities and gold and gasoline may fall in price…all to the benefit of holding a fist-full of cash.

Our govt is fully corrupt if this continues. I feel trump was placed there to keep us looking at distractions while they put final touches on the big collapse by 2030. Funny how a few startups filed for fed charters to not keep i fo or data on customers and allow anyone to use. They would safeguard anonymity and data so feds couldnt get and all were turned down. Thats why you see none out there today. There is huge demand for true private email (anonymously) but the feds wont allow it….same for credit cards (they track every purchase) etc etc

The most valuable barter items (by storage space) and hardest to get when needed:

Antibiotics, a cross-section of aerobic and anaerobic, gram positive/negative . Diagnostic literature with progressive symptom photos and dosages.

I get mine in Mexico. A few years ago they were ALL “over the counter”, even the big hitters. Still available with prescription, es no nada nunca una problema. Just get to know a per$uadable Medico.

I’ve got these and a half-dozen more in multiple doses:

Vancomycin for MRSA (I.V. set-up too)
Levoflaxin for Anthrax
Celalexin/Cefuroxime G+/G- for gastro-intestinal
Gentamicin for Tuberculosis
Clindamycin for sepsis (gut wounds); pneumococcal/streptococcal
Azithromycin for Lyme, syphilis, respiratory- upper and lower
Erythromycin for pneumonia

Plus the usual assortment of tranquillizers, pain pills, injectable lidocaine, syringes and boxes and boxes of gauze, tape and quick-curing casting tape.

That is the most impressive list I have seen (on an econ/events blog, for sure) – all of those drugs/anti-bacterials, as you mention, would be more valuable pound-for-pound than ammo, pm’s, or food in any scenario involving massive loss of resource access. And with good reason based upon pure scarcity.

That is a great list.

I have three foot lockers full of every over the counter medical A to Z medicine, ointment, brace, banadge, etc. etc. I could find. You name the medical item on the top ten Preppers lists I have it.

Twice I have been prescribed an antibiotic and an anti-fungal, I saved both and used Colloidal Silver insted. It was also a successful experiment on myself that buoyed my confidence in Colloidal Silver.

Stashed every fish antibiotic you can buy with a printout on what they are for.

Keep well stocked trama kits in all three cars and one by the chain saws.

Keep lots of Manuka Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar around.

Have one tool box with every type and size of bandaid you can buy and every type of infection fighter. That will be huge after TSHTF.

Have a large tool box full of 3 bottles of every major essential oil and a book on them, their individual uses and how to combine them.

Half a dozen medical books on what to take, do, and how to do it. “Where There Is No Doctor”, etc.

Have a seperate well stocked Burn Kit.

Last but not least I keep at least three to four bottles of Colloidal Silver on hand (I put a few drops under my tongue twice a week – haven’t had a cold, flu, or upper respiratory infection since, many years, use to be plagued with two of the three) and have a Colloidal Silver machine and 10 gallons of distilled water.

No speculum…I’m not as curious as I use to be.

HF,
I’m further south then you but my plan is to use 5 Cold Frames (have two built and a small green house) this winter. Have a friend who gave me an old wooden playground so the wood was free and I used plexiglas from Lowes Home Improvement.

Please keep us posted on your progress on your post above…extremely interested.

I put in an underground fiberglass tornado shelter in 2015 (have used it once when a Mom, Dad, and little girls were killed right up the road in their Doublewide) its temperature stays about 50 degrees. Put shelves in it under the stairs and a twin bed with a headboard bookcase, use it as a combo root cellar, bunker, and storm shelter. I built a deck over it with a three sided railing and eventually will also build a stout small one room building over it. To visitors I pass off the deck with railing as a dance floor.

I have found this book one of the best winter food growing manuals on the market, extremely well done…it has really helped me.

Essential oils are an overlooked item. Bottles of cumin seed oil are in my “medical” locker.

Colloidal Silver is a must-have, but requires contact to be effective. Ionic Silver is only requires proximity and destroys all positive charged agents of infection.

After blowing a takeoff and getting pitched face-first onto a reef, I broke the impact with my hands and came up with a barnacle buried in my palm. Guaranteed infection. Squirted Ionic silver into its bloody pit and it never got red, or even sore.

The problem with antibiotics is choosing the right one. Diagnostic tools are essential.

some sort of clotting bandage/sponge is a must have with serious trauma or when an artery starts squirting. I recall a post here long ago where somebody used one to stop his wife’s serious arterial bleeding from a deep cut on her leg.

I really had no idea what I was about and my intent wasn’t to become the local doc – it was to provide the tools/medicines to start a small clinic (to persuade a Doc to join the community)

What do you prescribe for a bite-infected scrotum? And possibly rabies?

Rabies is caused by a virus, which means antibiotics will not help. Post-exposure treatment commonly includes immune globulin and four doses of a Rabies vaccine (e.g. Imovax) at a price of several thousand dollars.

I have trouble understanding why it matters if Farcebook /Twitter/Whatever bans users….so what. Those commies are doing some free thinkers a favor. You don’t have to be on social media, humans functioned far better without this retarded shit for tens of thousands of years.

Same goes for Mastercard, there will be another lender who will give the right-wing people a freakin’ credit card. Less credit dependence would be good for our society, the joo bankers have no benefit in running off their customers/barrowers.

It looks like Communism is a harder sell than the lefties planned, they are getting more desperate by the day.
