I watch a fair number of TED talks, usually commenting to the screen how much I disagree with what the presenter is spewing forth, as they tend to be left of center, ideologically.

I am quite surprised that this young man wasn’t booed off the stage after they realized that he was advocating against their environmental deity.

The crowd shots-fewer in number than usual?-didn’t show the head nodding that always seems present.

How long before his home address is published and the protesters show up in mass?

If environmentalism restricted itself to truly caring for our natural resources, I would have no problem with it.

However, with the secret science and questionable funding that these environmental groups possess taints the whole barrel. It turns out that many claims that environmentalists make have no basis in fact and are not based on good, honest, scientific investigation. This is why environmental scientists have to hide their data, as it does not fit their agenda.

A good example of this is the so-called global warming crap, now renamed climate change. For one, the climate is always changing. The East Anglia emails in which data was purposely falsified by climate scientists comes to mind.

Not only that, the climate scientists purposely installed temperature monitoring sensors in cities, contrary to manufacturers recommendations and good scientific practices, in asphalt-covered parking lots, and other heat sink areas in order to prove their (faulty) hypothesis. This is scientific dishonesty at its worst.

It turns out that the solar system is in a cooling cycle due to decreased solar activity. There are two long-term solar cycles that reinforce themselves when in phase and cancel themselves out when out-of-phase. Look up the Maunder minimum. There are no SUVs on Mars or other planets, yet they are also experiencing the same solar variability.

Environmentalism has been the method used to impose communist principles on western society, especially in the USA.

Environmentalists are not content with promoting clean water, air and land, but are hell-bent on controlling human behavior, and yes, promoting extermination plans for much of humanity as these anointed types consider mankind to be a pestilence (except for themselves) to be reduced in population by any means necessary.

Environmentalists HATE the God-given concept of private property and have imposed government-backed and enforced land use controls on private property owners without compensation, clearly an unconstitutional taking of private property. If environmentalists want to control land use, let them purchase it themselves, not by government force. Today the only method of negating government-imposed land use restrictions is shoot, shovel, and shut up.

If environmentalists had their way, the earth’s human population would be reduced by approximately 90%, with the remainder to (be forced) to live in cities, in soviet-style high rise apartments, utilizing bicycles, buses and trains for transportation. The use of automobiles and access to pristine wilderness (rural) areas would be off-limits to us mere mortals, and would only be available for these anointed environmentalists.

The endangered species act is another abuse of environmentalism. Species are always changing, to adapt to their environments-survival if the fittest. In fact, the hoopla over the spotted owl (that placed much northwest timber land off-limits to logging) turned out to be nothing but scientific misconduct and arrogance. There are virtually identical species in other parts of the northwest.

More scientific malpractice occurred when government biologists attempted to plant lynx fur in certain areas to provide an excuse for making those areas off-limits for logging or development. Fortunately, these scientists were caught, however, no punishment was imposed.

In order to promote the false religion of “global warming” aka “climate change”, NASA “scientists” purposely installed temperature sensors in city parking lots and roads contrary to good scientific principles and practices in order to “skew” the “global warming” results.
In a nutshell, today’s environmentalism IS communism like watermelon-green on the outside and red (communist) on the inside.

It is interesting to note that communist and third-world countries have the WORST environmental conditions on the planet. Instead of the USA and other developed countries spending billions to get rid of that last half-percent of pollution, it would behoove the communist countries to improve their conditions first. Here is a question for you environmentalists: Why is there a push for restrictive environmental regulations, but only on the developed first-world countries, and not the gross polluters such as India and China?

So called “Climate Change” is the “Good Peoples” Moral underpinnings.

The Right must combat this with their own propaganda and spew it in every conversation until it becomes a self evident axiom that can not be challenged.

“A good example of this is the so-called global warming crap, now renamed climate change.”

They are altering the term once again. I’ve started to hear “climate crisis” and “climate emergency” with more frequency. Personally, I believe “they” are changing it intentionally for the worse with all the chemtrailing going on.

“Environmentalists HATE the God-given concept of private property …”

Funny you should mention that. The first financial transaction in the Bible records Abraham’s purchasing a section of the land God promised him.

Genesis 23:16-18 KJB… “And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant. And the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city.”

Here is the God given right of private property on display. There is currently a mosque on the very site where Abraham buried his wife and was himself buried.

“If environmentalism restricted itself to truly caring for our natural resources, I would have no problem with it.”

We are in 100% agreement.

I am always amused when I hear about the endangered California Condor. Here in the midwest they are called buzzards. I can look out my window almost any time and see them soaring. They are as numerous as crows.
The other thing I am amused by is the pee pants wailing about melting glaciers. We had a several year lead up to a Norwegian glacier melting away and discovered a village beneath it which means of course it was warm, it got cold, and then it got warm again. Duh!
The wailing and gnashing of teeth over a place no one can even go, Antarctica is a dandy. It is, unlike the Arctic, an actual continent. It is highly volcanic with active volcanoes. Every year some nimrod goes near a volcano and reports that global warming is melting the snow on the active volcano. Again, Duh!
What I am eagerly awaiting is more detail on a report last year that a “global warming caused ice melt” is revealing what appears from space to be the outlines of an ancient city-in Antarctica. “They” may be suppressing news about it.

Harrington, are you sure those ARE condors & not buzzards? Condors are a lot bigger than buzzards.

‘Global warming’, what a farce. The climate of earth is always changing. Man has little if anything to do with rising temps. The sun is ‘king’ of our climate. Those fear mongers need to check out the solar minimum. ‘Maunder minimum’ is what anarchist calls it. That is the correct term.

Scientists Find ‘Man-made Climate Change Doesn’t Exist In Practice’

Bottom line: The climate hoax being spun out on everyone is another attempt by those who want more government control. And citizen MONEY!

In Northern AZ we have Uranium mining near the Grand Canyon and in the Navajo Nation. The tailings and left open mines and holding ponds breaching I think have poisoned the area. So many people i meet have cancer stories. Also being downwinders has an effect. Newer better-designed power plants are needed. Thorium power? For homeowners, I think a hybrid sun and wind system is best for being self-sufficient and avoiding power outages.

The wind and solar power systems require more energy to manufacture than they will ever produce over their operational life, under a best-case scenario.

They are all over around here. One drawback in addition to what you mention is that the local counties will tax the living daylights out of these things. Once you drop tens of millions in the corn fields for these things the bankrupt counties own your behind.
I have heard calculations backing your contention that there simply isn’t enough steel etc. available to replace traditional power generation.
Hydro is great but the enviromaniacs don’t like dams. They don’t like nuclear either. They oppose the only two emission free generation methods, but of course they are just shithead troublemakers and deluded boneheads.
If you have a farm or rural location you can generate plenty of hot water and heat with a composting green house, but like a lot of things, you really have to be willing to devote lots of time to it and I do not know long term if it is cost effective-as long as their are available alternatives.
